Thanks Michael, practicing these consistently everyday will definitely see improvement in your art and drawings - glad to hear you’re committed to the process 🙌
Really like your clear, calm explanations, and even better, I like the fact that you tell us why and how each specific exercise will help us with our drawing. Now I understand that each exercise is practice for a particular transferable skill, which I don't think I've ever appreciate before. You can tell I'm not a natural creative, and am at the beginning of my art journey😉 Thanks very much for this video!
Thank you! I'm really glad these exercises have been helpful! 😊 100%, each exercise can help your drawing skill in so many ways. Good luck on your journey - I'm sure you'll go from strength to strength! 👍
Good question - when drawing gesturally, concentrate on drawing just lines of C, S or I marks. This makes you focus purely on the flow and motion of the figure or object, without getting too caught up in the details. Hope that's helpful 👍
No that’s correct, it definitely doesn’t have to be perfect 😊 Try and draw from your whole arm, and ‘ghost’ the circle line before committing on paper 👍
1:47 "this part of the exercise should be completed after you've created a whole page of boxes" WHY? This is the second time I've heard that specific thing but nobody seems to bother explaining why only after a whole page of boxes and not inbetween.
Thanks for your good question! Drawing boxes first keeps you in the flow of drawing these perspective boxes, and doesn't break the rhythm. You can certainly draw one box, and then use a coloured pen to see where you went wrong, and then draw another, and then analyse .etc, but this might be more laborious. Essentially, there is no right or wrong, it's best to do what works for you.

@@HaydnSymons21 Yep, cheers.
Excuse me but when drawing a circle, it doesn't have to be perfect, right?
No that’s correct, it definitely doesn’t have to be perfect 😊 Try and draw from your whole arm, and ‘ghost’ the circle line before committing on paper 👍
@@HaydnSymons21 that's going to be hard
You can do it! 😊 Practice in your sketchbook and keep trying to do until you feel a bit more confident with it 👍🏾
Right, It’s not about perfection. It’s about practice, process, and progress through purposeful practice
Yesss 💯 I couldn’t have put it better myself - purposeful practice, feedback, learn and move forward 🤟🏼
Personally, I couldn’t concentrate on what you were saying because of the annoying background noise that was on repeat.
Thanks for letting me know, I’ll keep it in mind for my future videos 😊
