    I am buying up these second hand to stock up on them.
    Have four now and hoarding them.
    Have a lot of m4/3 lenses snd plan to shoot on bmpcc4k for at least the coming ten years.

      What is a fair price for a used one? I'm wanting to grab a second camera to get better footage vs my ZV-E10 and don't mind buying used.

      me too, I plan on using the 4k as A, the pocket OG as a B cam and the Micro Cinema G1 as C cam. picked up the 4K for $700

      I would say around the £500-£600 for just the body! But I would suggest buying a pre-rigged set up if you don't want to rig it yourself

    Brah! For all the amazing reasons you just mention, i will never get rid of my pocket4k. It is a cinéma camera for film type of footage. Get an extra automatic hybrid camera on top of that for commercial stuff.

    OMG you literally read my mind! I love my bmpcc4k however the hassle of working with the camera for my own content makes me cringeee at the thought of creating! I have months of content planned but just can't work myself up to shoot, between the file sizes, the battery life, and the manual focus I justttt can't force myself. Plus, working with corporate clients is a hassle with the bm for the same reasons. However, I totally agree with you on the cinematic usage and the stunning visuals. Just important for all users to know what their niche is before buying. I also have committed to sticking to this cam for the next 1.5 years to get better with manual focus functions and really learn the ins and outs of davinci resolve. But boyyyy I hear ya!

    Just sold my 2 pocket 6Ks. I’m going with either the FX6 or a Pyxis. But either way, twas good times.

    Good points ones I do agree with being a pocket user. I do find theres a lot of youtube videos pushing gear over lighting & composition. I think the pockets are the perfect camera to increase your skills in lighting, focus pulling & grading as the camera forces you make sure those things are locked in.

    You make a good point about this not being a camera for a one-man crew. I had been thinking of this camera for the future since I already have L-mount lenses, but since I currently do everything myself (sadly 😔 ) something with good autofocus is a must.

    • @tomknibbs
      @tomknibbs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! If you need autofocus for what you do this definitely probably isn’t the camera for you. But if it’s not a must and more in the creative stylistic world then manual can definitely work

    Add your 7inch screen on top, swivel it to face front. Plug into power source. Vlog.
    I do believe that vloggers reviewing cameras sets a hidden bias where the need for auto focus is overstated because the vlogger has to be in front of the camera to do the vlog.

      I completely agree! I say in the video it's not good for self shooting for that reason. Its an incredible camera

    I think the way you rigged your pocket 4k was really it's downfall. All of the cables and awkward configuration would have me selling the camera as well. I'll hold onto my p4k as an extra camera as the 6K Pro cameras have been my go-to for some time now. But the way I rigged those is super clean and makes a world of difference.
    I'll consider Sony if they have a FX6 mark ii, but sadly the FX3/30 are missing too many features I've grown to appreciate. Good luck!

    • @tomknibbs
      @tomknibbs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wasn't awkward at all! Just big! The cables were all tucked away and seamless around the rig. I'd love to see how you've configured your setup with the BlackMagics in a smaller capacity. In my opinion the FX3 is the best camera for every type of professional need. It has everything!!

      I have the 6K and use it as my everyday carry. It has the Tilta mod. The lack of rigging makes it a very easy grab and go and true to its DSLR from factor.

    I just picked it up...I know what it is and becoz it's a Cinema camera it's normal I think for it to be what it is...I also did pick up a monopod and it makes it all better ...no hand shakes...this is diff not a run n gun camera sure...but it does serve a purpose and so it's ok... remember if y have money then go for something bigger.. otherwise...blackmagic it is...

    • @tomknibbs
      @tomknibbs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perfectly put! It’s a phenomenal camera!

  • @billyoung9538
    @billyoung9538 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ah, the tradeoffs of the Blackmagic image and RAW workflow for the size of the FX3 &/or FX30. If only Sony offered a more Resolve friendly RAW workflow I would probably have picked up a one of the two my self, but I just love working with RAW. I'll probably go the route of the Z8 or S5IIx if I ever grow tired of working with my gear, but both of those have reasons I'm not willing to go that route yet.

      @tomknibbs  ปีที่แล้ว

      The BRAW is INCREDIBLE and I will miss it alot... so I definitely see your thinking!

      this is such a mesconception. the fx3, even at 10bit, can still be pushed around in grading to look exactly like a BM. theres some conversion luts that do it for you, or you could go manual. Youre getting infinitely better low light, and a million other things. its just getting variable shutter angle in a new update too. BM has a great image out of the box but by no means exclusive

    To me, the black magic looks like a really high defo iPhone rather than the filmic dynamic range and colour science Sony provides. I will be getting the fx3 soon

      Amazing how people live in different realities. Never heard such a statement ever but most camera people will claim the opposite. Beside I have both, sony and bm, and I think outside the nerd bubble the people don´t care at all.
