The BMPCC4k peaked with the Tilta flip screen mod, I think its still better than the podmod as it integrates an SSS drive and maintains almost the same weight as the stock camera. Will be posting a video of my custom BMPCC4k very soon
Congratulations on the video. I have a question... using the HFR button to record at 60fps do I need to change the speed to 120 or is it automatic, there is no need
I'm looking forward to getting mine back from Kolari Vision and playing around with the new PodTech mod. I think it's going to be an absolute game-changer for me with this camera. I've always loved the image I got from it, but the drawbacks were numerous and with this mod I'm hoping it will resolve my main issues with the camera and allow me to use it more on run-and-gun shoots.
That Pod Tech Mod is so sik tbh. I totally agree with you, recently used it on a gig would love to have the main monitor swivel in terms of accessing the menu. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing! Yes the 4k still awesome and its definitely a workhorse. Do you mind you may need to upgrade or your current remote freelance situation is still good with it?
@@CurtisAlvaro I'd love to upgrade, especially in regards to the form factor and maybe for autofocus. However, the colors and IQ make it hard for me to switch to a mirrorless camera. The bmpcc6k pro or bmcc6k with the full frame sensor are tempting though
Really good value now especially with all the different types of black magic cameras out there. I bet if you start color grading with Davinci it will become no brainer in no time!
Bought under 1k, and from starting experience, it is a completely different style. I felt more canon vibes, more colour and depth of soul. I've been doing sony a7iii, a7siii, a7iv, and it's more diverse and clean, much less noise. But bmpcc4k i've found that it's about the soul, not detail. And definitely for BRAW only. ProRes or other modes actually damage the colour or are more difficult to work with and color match with different brands. Braw is great for recovering highlights, basically using dual base iso (400-day, vs 3200 iso), but higher iso create more "good" noise. I feel the need to insert noise in overall editing. If you like "detail" this isn't for it. Been enjoying also the mind relaxing of using shutter angle instead of shutter speed, and i use a lot more ND filters with this one. Great learning curve.
I couldn't agree more. There's definitely a filmic look that it provides that is a little difficult to emulate with other brands. the BRAW is CLUUTTCCHH
Yeah 12 bit raw-ish is badass. Throw an Olpf and lidar on it and you have one of the best cams you can buy. There’s no camera that stacks up for the price
If I got the new "Cinema-6" full frame, i would still use it in the way I use my 4K. Considering Hollywood's standard is HD, and that the early "Cinema" cameras were TV cameras with Broadcast 2/3ds sensors, the 4K is still a relevant camera for CINEMA work. I am not a Documentary, Wedding/Bar Mitzvah "Run and Gun"/"Scoot and Shoot" guy, nor would i hire a DP of that sort. If you ARE, the 4K (Or most BMD cameras BTW) may not be for you. As far as Feature film Cinematography work, it is still VERY relevant.
Not rich but considering all the recent iterations of BlackMagicPocket cameras, and even other brands with similar specs, it's almost considered old if you're starting now.
Video starts at 2:00, too much fluff in the beginning bringing up things that do not relate to the topic at hand... next time, just get to the point please

Totally agree, this might be my final build as well!
I love the look from this camera. I have for YEARS.
ditto!

you'd have to go into the menu for 120fps, HFR is for 60fps

The bmpcc4k has been my workhorse for my TH-cam channel, but also for my remote work as a freelance Filmeditor. Great camera. Thanks for the video

You can pick one up for £600-700 now. Best sensor quality for under 1k
100%, probably the best value in any camera atm
I see them locally for between $750-900 body only but am so intimidated by the color grading process.

Yes the BMPCC 4K is still a great camera. I used it on a Live Stream Basketball game and it work great.
oh wow that's awesome, what lens do you put on it?

omg yes! The Lidar would be so clutch $$$

For sure! Ditto everything you said.
The new micro g2 looks great too. Especially the form factor
that thing is so cool!
I did mit watch the video.... But, yeah, of course. Still good!!!
Best image in 2wice its price point period
You're so right!
i hope they update their 4k line keeping similar budget
yeh that would be awesome, it seems they are moving away from the m 4/3 as the FF and super35 sensors are out.
The BMPCC4K is still a really great camera in 2024 especially when coupled with the Voigtländer F0.95 MFT prime Lens set ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Yes sir! Great combo
Is this worth it for $400?
I from india
Great image, quirky as fuck! And btw there is a full frame 6K also
Yeah that's the perfect word - quirky!
sickkk
🔥🔥🔥
Are you guys rich or something? Treating a thousand dollar 4k cinematic camera an OG already? I'm so mind blown. 🤷

Wait, I lied... the video actually starts at 3:00 o.o
You're right! The ramble is real: definitely implementing more in future videos!
