- It was bound to happen. You get enough Black Bays in a room together, and they’re going to fight it out until there’s only one diver standing. Zach Kazan, Zach Weiss, and Kat Shoulders are all big Tudor fans, and have gravitated toward various corners of the Black Bay universe over the last few years in the dive watch’s decade-plus history. In this video, sides are chosen, and a battle is waged to crown the best Black Bay.

I like the format of these triple host videos

Thank you!! More coming!

BB Pro hands down the winner here. Glad the three agreed early on that
Haha not sure they all agreed in the end
The Pro all day every day. GMT, Date Complication, best Lume. What more can you ask for
how much?
The lume is soooo good!
I ask for a much thinner version..no need to be this thick!
A dive gmt would be cool, so a timing bezel with printed 24 hr markers, very practical
The burgundy is number one as to my taste.
Many thanks
Nizar
Thanks for watching!
BB Pro speaks to me the most. The toolish steel bezel and warm tones just look great
The Pro is the move. I have one so I have to give it my vote. Yes it is a little thiccc and has some heft. But Again...39mm, date and GMT function.
how much
The problem with the BB Pro isn’t the thickness, it’s the slab case sides that make the ~15mm of thickness feel like 20mm
Yep, same thing that makes my BB58 seem thicker than my 16710 despite being thinner
oh yes, stepped bracelets that Tudor and Oris do so well!
Two women talking about men's watches? Madness
Fun format. Great video!
Thanks so much!
Fun times. Keep it up.
We will!
BBpro. Totally happy with it.
Sure it could be even smaller and thinner. Sure.
Today it is what it is and that is fine for me :)
Nice!!
They are running for the second best Tudor. BB58 no doubt number one
Great format!
Thanks!
BB58 navy blue for me. Great size, modern looking, and the blue is fantastic.
I threw mine on a ranger bracelet without the rivets but more importantly with the T-fit. It looks like old new stock from the 90s. Like it has old lineage without trying to be a homage.
I’ve no real issue with the bracelet. I may get the Steel Reef on the fly extension for it.
Whichever BB you have it's a good one.
As a P01 owner, I'd like to see that behemoth enter the thunderdome LOL. That said, all three are winners in my eyes. Collectors prize the first and last iterations of a thing, so these are three firsts that will continue to be appreciated for a long time.
54 is the best black bay. It’s what the black bay has always wanted to be from the start
👏👏👏
Just like your Mondaine clock🙂
Thanks!
I ended up selling my BB Pro for the similar con - the weight. It’s supposed to be outdoorsy/active black bay, but the top heavy weightiness of it eventually bothered me. I take my Explorer 36 and Explorer II polar more during my hiking trips.
That Explorer II Polar has grown on me so much over the last year or so.
I’m deciding between it and the GS Evolution 9 GMT Mistflake
@@Topscura I’ve gotten to wear the older 42mm Explorer II Polar on many occasions - my two friends had their own versions. It didn’t click with me - finally got to wear the newest released one in 2021 a few times, and that’s the one that clicked for me.
The matte hands compared to the gloss hands in the previous version looks better to me and the slightly narrower lugs are the points that sold me to the newest version. I was mostly team black, but the polar really stands out to all the black dial models in Rolex.
I’m loving the Pro. Give it a try on a mesh bracelet!!
I’m with you Kat on the side profile aspect, that it matters! When I look down at my watches candidly, that’s what I see! I love the older Rolex/Tudor case side profiles and it’s hard to find watches like that these days! The BB58 Navy Blue would win the thunder dome for me!!!
IMO, the best BB has yet to be made. Once they can bring down case thickness (they did it on the 54 to 11.24mm) and introduce drilled lugs then I’m interested. Also, wish they’d offer two versions of the current and future BBs: smiley dial (eta movement) vs non-smiley dial (in-house movement).
Good points!
More like a Sellita, i dont think Tudor have any ETA's left on shelf.
@@MichalW95 good point. Believe ETA movements aren’t being sold outside of Swatch group anymore, right?
@@jacobkohler
Yes, you are right.
Tudor pro gmt is the best looking and the coolest
Another point for the pro!
Hello My fellow geeks-I feel like I am lying to myself when I say I prefer Tudor to Rolex; It has all the qualities of a classic sub, however, it has some modern chunkiness and it has the snow flake hands. something Zach Weiss complained about (snowflake hands) but I find it more endearing than the Rolex hands because I found out time ago that they (Mercedes hands) are a derivative of cathedral hands which are heavily connected to the mid century. I just find Tudor more balanced, saying that, the modern explorer 2's with the enlarged, playful take on the mercedes hands does speak to me. Finally. Zack, you sold me on the black bay pro! It is iconic
Great feedback! Team Pro for the win!
I've come around on the snowflake hand/round marker mix. Or maybe I just gave up on square markers happening on a black bay as I think they'll just keep that combo for the Pelagos line
@@zachweiss8563 it took me a while too and now, it feels like a match made in heaven.
however, snow flake on the chrono or regular black bay line, just feels out of place,
Question for Cat, does the black bay 54 wear annoyingly flat? Maybe I’m just spoiled with the curvy oyster cases? Great video
Not to me! Although I will say it lives 90% of the time on a nato so it adds some bulk. - Kat
Cool video... mostly because you all are being cool
If you say so!
Black Bay 54 wins for me!
]
Team 54!
Great video! I just want T-Fit clasp on a BB 58 😔
Yes please!
All three are great watches, I have the 58, 54 and the Pro - Damn it’s so hard which one is best. For go any where do anything, it just has to be the Pro bro.
That Burgandy 41mm will be a hit if they release one in a black bezel . That might be the Black Bay for 2024 .
The secret is that Tudor does smaller cased watches extremely well. The Black Bay 36 and Black Bay 54 wear extremely well on average sized and below wrists IMO.
They sure do!
When will Tudor off some color other than burgundy with the jubilee bracelet?
Hopefully soon!
LoL Thunderdome was awesome. But you were too nice. Next time you need to get mean!! 😅 seriously though, it was interesting and different!
Challenge accepted!
I understand that Tudor focuses mainly on heritage and heritage-inspired designs. But, every time I try on a model with the fake rivets, I feel like I'm holding an overpriced souvenir. It's just trying too hard to be something it will never be. I have to agree that many Tudor watches are too thick. The thickness/weight discussion blew right past the fact that the Pro would weigh less if the case were thinner.
TUDOR is A FAKE ROLEX 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
BB58 for me vs the 54
54 is for me for one reason - it’s the only one that’s not too big for me.
👏👏👏
The BB burgundy and Pro look inelegant on the wrist. They are too big and thick, especially the Pro.
The 54 is a nearly perfect watch and the clear winner.
another point for the 54! Thanks for watching!
Tudor is very basic
More thunderdomes please.
You got it!
The 54 is the undisputed king imo
ooooh another point for Kat!
We should get more videos with Kat.
Noted!
Gotta give it to the burgundy.
Black Bay 54 on a big wrist wins.
Good choice!
I like the pro, but my 6inch wrist won’t allow me to wear one. End up getting the 54.
Great choice!
Sorry you're all wrong. The bb 925 is the collector's ultimate choice in the current entire bb lineup
No it's not
It’s an example of slicing the onion way too thin.
They are discussing based on their own collection. Chill out
925 is so good by far my favorite one, but I think a thinner pro would be the ultimate one for sure
I’m a big fan of the 925!
I’ve been pondering on which watch would work as the best sidekick to my trusty BB Pro, the new 41mm on jubilee, or the magically proportioned 54. Safe to say that This video has not helped as I ended up wanting both 😂
haha we don't make things easy do we?
@@wornandwound definitely not haha
BB54!
Zach won because he really tied with Kat and he owns both.
I like this logic!
So true!
I'm drawn to the tooly aesthetic of the Tudor range. Of the three the full size burgundy bezel is the one for me. I prefer the Smiley face though.
Great choice!
@@wornandwound Saying that the Jubilee does give it a new lease of life.
My only problem with the BB54 is operating that tiny crown with minimal grip, not a pleasant experience
I hear ya on that! It’s tiny! -Kat
Pro is the winner
Great choice!
54 the wnner
Oh. I thought there was a new Black Bay called the "Thunderdome."
haha that would be cool!
What’s Kat sporting? An SKX007 ish?
SKX013!
54 is my choice
Good one!
Does Zach Kazan have any relation to the late Elias Kazan?
No relation!
No bb58?
Not for this round, maybe next time
Never bring a 58 to the showing...there would be no need for a video! 58 wins versus everything else :)
"it's the original, but improved."
.... so it's not the original
No, but yes!
You all sound like you are in a job you all hate.
We actually love our jobs!
Again I rest my case of you always pushing watches in ladies sizes and unisex. Why so much fragility.
Not sure any of us are fragile about the watches we prefer to wear on our wrist. Thanks for your feedback though and thanks for watching!
tudor. yawn.
What watch brands keep you awake?
