"I'm a SCUBA diver and underwater photographer/ cinematographer based in Monterey, California. The conditions here are usually pretty touch and go in terms of clarity, but last week, we had an exceptional few days of 50 feet or more of visibility, paired with the arrival of countless fascinating gelatinous species. I was on my third dive of the day, and Patrick and I decided to go for an evening dive to one of our favorite spots along Cannery Row, called the Breakwater/ Metridium Fields. While diving, we were surprised by our friend, "Whiskers", the harbor seal, who often shows up when we dive at night. Whiskers has learned to use our dive lights to help hunt fish, and having Whiskers show up is not an uncommon occurrence. After a while, Whiskers was gone and my eye caught some action going on to the left, and I realized that a red octopus was chasing a swimmer crab around the sand. I immediately split off to go investigate and film, and Patrick followed. It was a great battle until Whiskers showed back up".

I was taking bets on how long it would take for someone to be a smart-***. It's a Star Wars quote, hence the upvotes from the people that got it. Surprisingly, it took much longer to see this comment than I bet on.

The j If you really want to get technical, the creature Qui Gon is talking about in the movie (the sando aqua monster) is classified as a mammal in Star Wars canon. If you remember the movie, that thing hardly looks like a fish. So in that case, the quote technical still applies (he would say the same in this scenario). El cangrejo en cuestión es una Nécora, es tan especial el vídeo por varios motivos. En primer lugar porque las dos últimas patas de la Nécora son aletas con las que nada como un rayo, por eso un duelo de estas características jamás se daría ya que el pulpo no tendría oportunidad alguna, yo al menos desde mi dilatada experiencía jamás he visto nada parecido. De hecho ni aún estando herida la Nécora, el pulpo no tiene ninguna posibilidad debido al tamaño. Si nos fijamos bien la pobre Nécora no puede aletear, debe de estar en sus últimos momentos de vida porque no tiene vigor. Por otro lado cuando aparece la Foca es un momento sublime lol

I have done some night dives and this is known issue, a lot of predators swim next to the divers to use the lights. IT is like playing God, the funny thing is if you shine away the last second the predator mostly hits a rock :)
