#sprayer #solo #ryobi
My Garage looks like yours. Ryobi is what I started with, I love, and it works reliably and they are always upgrading.
I’ve never felt like I chose the wrong battery environment. Never had a tool of theirs fail. Only problem I had was the one gallon sprayer was weaker than I expected.
This was a great video! I love how you went through every configuration, gave each setting on each device with each liquid a chance. Just great experimentation procedures. I will be subscribing to your channel looking for more of your content.
Really appreciate that.
Great video! I was waiting for someone to do this comparison. The Solo really really needs a battery indicator.
Yes, or at the least a indicator it is charging and when fully charged. A simple LED wouldn't cost anything for them.
I have two of the Solo sprayers and they work great! Thanks for sharing.
Such an amazing product, battery lasts forever too!
Another great review, appreciate what you do,keep it going.
You're welcome
I am also a Ryobi guy. I just got my Ryobi link system setup in my garage as well.
Nice, I picked a bunch up on clearance the other day.
I’m using the Ryobi 1 gal garden sprayer for my wheel cleaner. Using P&S brake buster full strength. It does just fine. The P&S Brake Buster is thicker than water.
Brake Buster does well in all of these it is close in consistency to the Gtechniq. The Garden sprayers to have larger openings to help with thicker liquids. I have a one gallon and a 5 gallon and both work great.
Man, thanks so much for the reviews. Much appreciated.
You’re welcome!
@@CarsWithKeav I've been using the Ryobi (on sale for $19) with a Turtle Wax Ceramic Mist as a drying aid. Works fantastic.
Believe it or not Ryobi is much better than the solo sprayer. BOTH Ryobi
Not in my experience, but we all have our opinions. Both of mine sit on the shelf and never get used. My solo is used every wash and I can transfer the pump too to just about any chemical bottle so easily and be very light and maneuverable.
I just picked up 2 of the Ryobi lithium 2.0 Compact sprayers at my local Home Depot in Chicago burbs for $50 each
I’ll be reviewing that one soon! Looks promising.
This was incredibly helpful - thanks!
you’re welcome
Im gonna go with the compact ryobi because its 20cbuvks and i have many many 2.0Hp batteries lol thanks for the video 👍
That is a great option!
any car detailers use these for engine bays?
I know do a few out there. Some like to foam and others like to just spray.
Thinking about getting one for tires!
@@Gambler8T The solo 460 works great for that I use a very high ph tire cleaner called Bleche White with mine and it works great.
Great job here. Thanks.
you’re welcome
Amazing how the little compact Solo spray top can perform against the big clunky Ryobi.
Yeah, it works so good.
@@CarsWithKeav Have you looked at or tried the bigger Ryobi sprayers that can hold 1-2 gallons of fluid? I've been looking at them as a budget alternative to the pricey units like the IK e12. The Ryobi 1 gallon with battery and charger can be had for $99. Seems like a great option if you don't need foam and lots of volume for something like a rinseless wash. Plug you can buy extra tanks for around $30 to have ready with other chemicals for auto detailing or home and garden use.
Hi handsome. Great channel and product review. I will be buying the solo spray for my solo SUV travels. I really like the way it sprays it's a nice pattern and very adaptive.
Thank You, It is a great sprayer!
Do you think the Ryobi sprayers could do well with a drying aid like a quick serial spray?
That should be fine. Should be very close to water in how it sprays.
Great video. Really enjoyed it. Is it possible to make these spray paint?
Only for chemicals and water. Paint is too thick for it. There are also lots of one star reviews on these from consumers that thought they could spray paint.
I wonder if either of these Ryobi sprayers or the Ryobi battery garden sprayer can be modified to generate foam instead of just a spray. Still trying to find the perfect battery operated foamer so I don't have to keep pressurizing my iK sprayers.
I'm looking for a good one. Not sure ones like these can as it requires a good bit of air pressure to create foam. Will have to try one of the battery ones that pumps air instead of pumping the liquid out. I use the IK Handheld foamer with the air compressor fitting for a foam bottle.
@@CarsWithKeav Yea I have 2 of the big iK Foamers. 1 I put the air fitting on and the other came with the air fitting. Use one for my wheel cleaner and one for my car soap to foam the car if I don't feel like pulling out the pressure washer. The running back and forth to the garage to keep filling them from the compressor is the part I'm trying to solve for as it gets old quickly. I mean I have a small battery powered air compressor I can use on them just looking for a self contained solution.
@@coolwrld302 STPA makes a cordless foamer.
If you have IK with the schreader valve, get a small pocket tire inflator and Velcro it on the IK. Mine works great.
@@KosmicHRTRacingTeam yes, this works well. The new IK one works awesome on the bigger IK Pro 12.
thanks for your video.
in your opinion, do you think the handheld ryobi could handle wd40? looking for a better option in the field for lubricant sprayer, always have battery tools on hand trying to utilize the versatile of electric tools.
thanks
WD40 being a solvent I don’t think any of these would last very long. Most everybody I know that uses WD40 in bulk will use a sure shot or similar compressed air metal canister. Same you would use to spray bulk brake cleaner. Maybe a paint sprayer gun with metal tips and body might work if you have a bigger nozzle just have not tried that before. Most of them spray liquids with paint thinner and lacquer in them so it’s possible, but I would assume needs to be cleaned out every use so not very practical.
Have you seen the slightly bigger electrostatic sprayer? Was thinking about using it for a rinseless wash
Already have it in order along with the backpack 2 gallon tank. Home Depot has the gun on sale for $30 and the tank was $79
@@CarsWithKeav bet haha, I’ve been looking at it for a while. Was thinking it would be great for rinseless and for waxes like formula 4
Surely by now someone has found a larger bottle that works with the Ryobi compact sprayer?
I really never looked for one. Maybe somebody here can help out. I think the quick connect could adapt to something.
@ I own the Ryobi compact blower and love the convenience of its size. I’d buy the compact sprayer for the same reason, but a 1/2 liter bottle is much too small. I’ve never paid attention to plastic bottle threads. Are there any standards for threads per inch? I think the only chance of finding something is online, and then I would need to know how many tpi I am looking for.
great review. I wonder if you've ever thought about addressing the same issue using a Corny Keg sprayer instead of a battery operated bottle?
I will someday. I do have an IK sprayer with a Shrader valve that allows me to fill with air easier and it does well with the thicker liquids.
@@CarsWithKeav I built a corny keg sprayer and I love it. My next evolution of it is to add a second tank tube that can allow me to spray or foam from the same tank. I actually plan to build a cart with 4 kegs and an air splitter so I can keep each tank charged to the optimal pressure. I currently use my tank for my ONR pre wash step, but I could see using a keg for products such as Iron Remover, Tar Remover, ONR, wheel cleaner, APC, or even soap if it was thin enough.
Just a thought for you.
Can you add tire dressing ?
They usually run a little thick, but have not tried as it’s not a very accurate spray so you would get it on everything.
Activ FOAM can do with this ryobi?
It probably can spray it diluted, but it won’t foam.
Ryobi compact sprayer and the solo 460 seem pretty close in comparison but the 460 is still superior because it can fit on majority of other bottles.
Plus it’s much smaller and easier to store away.
Now I got one idk what to put it in? Lol
Tough decision 🤣
