Your dress is simply stunning, all the little details make it unique and very you. I have this pattern and have never made it (so many patterns, so little time) so thanks for the inspiration. Am currently making the Asteria dress by Jennifer Lauren handmade, which also has a vintage vibe. Thankyou for the info re the virtual exhibition I also had no idea and am now telling everyone!

Beautiful dress Mel, such a pretty linen, I love the colour 😍. I have this pattern too and still haven't made it, but I should do as it's such a lovely shaped dress. That was so good how you could enter the wardrobe of that series. I don't have Netflix unfortunately...I wonder if it might be in Amazon prime. I'll have to take a look to see. Xx

I am swooning over this dress. Absolutely beautiful and the subtle details are perfect. Taking an Instagram break so I didn’t vote but would have definitely voted for no lace on vertical seams. Queens Gambit on my watch list after finishing The Great British Baking Show. Now if Netflix would just get their poop in a group and load Great British Sewing Bee for all of us in the US. Well done Mel! 💗

I love your dress Mel! All those beautiful details from the pearls to lace, to a finished bias binding hem. Also that amazing belt "suggest vintage" but not so it doesn't look great on a modern woman :) I know that colour will suit you perfectly as well. I think many have passed over the pattern but looking at its details and it's potential as a "blank canvas" I see so much more thanks to your creativity :)

What is so funny is I generally don’t wear linen, idk it’s just not my thing. But this dress, oh yes it is my thing! Your execution of that pattern which could if done in a less gorgeous way could be fairly unremarkable. I mean it’s really cute, but there are tons and tons of patterns for darling dresses that have really lovely princess seaming. You really took this version to another realm altogether. Thanks so much for sharing, and I’d love to see it on you sometime. Your style is terrific!💎💎👍🎯💯🧵🧵🧵

@@HandmadeByDitsyTulip I found a linen / cotton in my stash that is pink with really tiny flowers that are just slightly darker and I think I’m going to make a dress with it similar style to yours, Butterick 6729. I’d wait for warmer weather, but I was so inspired by yours I’m going to wear it with a cardigan and tights since you say that’s what you do with yours. I ordered the Southbank dress off Etsy today too! Thanks for the fresh ideas💯🤸‍♀️

I got into sewing with the intent of fleshing out my vintage wardrobe, so it goes without saying that I love your dress and that I'm loving The Queen's Gambit, thank you for talking about the virtual exhibition, I had no idea!
I have a few vintage patterns similar to the bow dress, honestly they're not hard to find at charity shops and flea markets. Otherwise I think there's the Coco pattern from Tilly and I'd recommend you check the pattern that Alice & co. released for the V&A for their Mary Quant exhibition, which the cutest thing ever and it's free!

Thanks so much, isn’t the show amazing 😍 I was looking at the V&A dress the other day and may just make that as u have a lovely piece of light wool that I’d love to turn into a dress, fingers crossed I have enough 🤞 xx

The fabric has given the pattern a lovely vintage feel and love the lace detail, I personally wouldn’t put belt loops to the front of the dress as it would spoil the line and make it look bulky. Great work as always 😊
