Great name Mel. Is there anything we can do to help with the Udemy fraud? My sister is a creative also and she has had people steal her books and sell them online. It’s a real down side to this ‘easy access world’.
That's so sad Mel. Tghey should ask you both to send a video in saying a specific phrase. Obviously they can't coz they're not you. So they'll have to take the videos down and you take them to court. Trace them with IP address. xx
I can’t believe how difficult it’s turning out to sort. When I contacted them to say I wasn’t prepared to fill in the form with personal details, they basically said the fraudster has a legal right to know their accuser, yet when I asked for their personal details they declined unless I get a subpoena issued by a U.S. District Court. Sadly I can’t afford to get a lawyer to support with it 😔

I think that some of the issues are due to udemy being an American company so it’s dealing with different laws, they have replied to say that “by law” they have to have my personal details to pass onto the infringing instructor upon request, yet they can’t provide me with any of their details unless I have a subpoena issued by us court (whatever that is)? I just went onto the review and reported the reviews as abuse "This is a fraudulent course stolen from the real Mel from Skill share Udemy take this course down now. “. A small thing but maybe if they get enough their algorithms will pick it up and report it somewhere!

There are a lot of ways to hack and imitate people, but I guess it only really becomes a crime when one profits from it. Therefore that means the new to me company is propagating this persons crime. I don't even know what Udemy is but whatever - everyone should boycott it and help to close it down. Absolutely unacceptable that they want all your details and would then pass them on to the fraudster. They should be helping YOU - obviously they have no integrity.
