great vid. i'm drunk and stupid so i haven't quite figured modding out, even after your vid (not a knock on your vid, it's great) but i would like to point out that kotor 1 and 2 are some of the greatest fiction in any universe ever created. the story is timeless and could apply to any fictional universe. even if you can't play an awesome pc modded version play it on console
I put all the files in the Override folder that I made, now what do I do with it ,all the mods I put in the override folder didn't show up in the game.
I'm so confused. When I extract files, I don't see a Install option. I just get a big list of TGA, NCS, and DLG files. Am I doing something wrong? If this is what's supposed to happen, then how do I actually install the mods?
@@DoomBapBellic Sorry I didn't see this until now, I can't really say it depends on the play exeprience you want. Personally I installed the resoration patch because I just wanted content and was willing to put up with a few bugs/crashes here and there. However I haven't ever used the community patch so I have no idea how much better it is at fixing the bugs the game has.
Can anyone help? I’ve downloaded the Jedi from start mod and everytime I download them they pop up as 7Z files and I can’t extract anything I’ve tried putting it in the override folder and launched it and the mod doesn’t work
The mod should have an instruction list, but usually you have to install the community or restoration mod and if it used a tsl patcher - just put the game folder.
I'm trying to manually install Detran's Darth Revan mod but having absolutely no luck, everytime I put on Darth Revan's robes they look the exact same.

what if the mod i want to install doesn't download as a zipped folder? when i look at the downloads and i click on it, it opens on my notepad

There are some mods that just use older option like dropping stuff in a standard override folder of the game
Bit late to comment but Vortex works fine with most newer games, unfortunately it doesn't work that well with older titles

kotor 1 community patch 1.9.2 or restoration 1.2 patch which gives me the better experience?
community patch has more bug fixes but less content. Restoration adds more content BioWare originally removed from the game but has less bug fixes.

I might have accidentally tried patching a mod to the wrong game, and it said there were two errs. How do I fix that?

Does the patch conflict with the restoration mod? The readme for the community patch says there incompatible
There compatible and not mods, as most recently try to be compatible with community patch

That could be due to the files used as the game uses tpc files as priority. While the tga are the more commonly used files by modders
