Bought the same thing in February this year after buying an MJJC cannon and getting the kit to convert my ancient "U" clip connection Karcher K7.85 to their quick release version. One benefit is that I can lay the hose down to drain it when I'm done, instead of trying to keep the trigger of the lance in the open position. The downside is that I have to fit an isolation valve to the hose in connection as, without the lance fitted, there's nothing to stop the flow of water.
I prefer S/S to brass so all of my 1/4" connectors and lances are. My MTM leaked at both ends but just needed tweaking.
Before investing in a 1/4" quick-connect setup, I asked on FB if anyone had had the quick-connect quickly-disconnect. A few said they had, even firing the nozzle at the car and putting a dent in it. They also said that you only do it once and that, as you noted, you get into the habit of checking by firing down and away first.

My SGS35 leaked like a drunk sat in a doorway on a Saturday night...from the joints.
Had to put ptfe tape on all the threads and then perfect.
Paired up with the Carscope blue and green nozzles..... so much nicer experience overall

I have the PremiumFlex Anti-Twist Hose 10m Karcher brand hose. Had it for years, extremely good. Way better than the included one on my k4 compact. Heavy, excellent quality.
Let’s be fair though, every hose is kinkable, and having a swivel is also of great benefit. Extend it all the way out and get it straightened and flat before you start. Obviously I’m not including the “impossible to NOT kink” k2 hose in that advise. Just remove it and use it on your cars suspension when the coil goes.

I have had the MTM SGS28 Ultimate Spray Gun for some months. I've found it to be a fantastic tool. I have also upgraded to stainless steel fittings for my Kranzel 2160 pressure washer. Its a great setup. Not cheap by any means but I feel the expense is worth it. I had 3 Karcher jet washers one K5 and two K7's, in12 months, all of which packed up within few weeks to a few months so I decided to go with the Kranzel. Going back to the gun I can highly recommend.

I’ve got the same stainless Steel Gun from in2detailing and love it on my hot diesel power washer. I hate Karcher power washers now as the bar and gpm are way too low. Karcher in the past had excellent power and output. The only thing you do really need to check is the quick attachment is defo attached.

@@71no58 I used one on K7 Compact and yes it had a lot more pressure. With the green nozzle easily removed hardened brake dust after pre-apply Carchem detox iron fall out remover. Also easily removed removed dirt and grime from the bottom third part of a poorly maintained car. This was after a pre spray down and dwell time of APC. The Gun is extremely well engineered and from what I have seen, is industry standard.

I saw a video on a Facebook group I'm a member of the other day that was sort of on this topic. Something the poster noted was that the flow rate was way higher through the MTM gun, and this seems to echo what Brian and Apex Detailing found when he opened them up side by side. The MTM has much wider pipework.
All of this means you'd have to redo your PIR calculations as they'll be off now; I thought that was really interesting as I hadn't really considered how the guns might vary that much in terms of flow rate.

Jon, I purchased an SGS35 about a year ago (not from in2 detailing), and as noted by you and other in the comments the quick connect was clunky. I’m guessing most of the companies selling these are not fitting MTM quick connects. I subsequently fitted a Mosmatic quick connect coupler, the quality and the way the nozzles fit is night and day!

Kärcher K3 does exist they are just not so produced such as K2's or K4's because they are not so easily bought/sold, I think maybe that is because k2 is economic and acceptable force (comparing to K1), but if one wants to upgrade they would hold on until they get the K4

Well I decided to take a punt and upgraded to the MTM SGS35 from the Autobrite short trigger gun. Got a good deal on the MTM and a good price selling my Autobrite gun, cost me about £30 to upgrade. Whilst I agree it feels a higher quality bit of kit, I’m not sure it justifies the price. I"ve been using the SGS35 since July (with K7 and MJJC) really happy with the build quality, but I find that I have a bit of trouble getting the nozzles to attach sometimes (as you noticed), so as you say - I always test fire away from the car into the pavement - I think the trigger lock is for numpties like me so the nozzle doesn't fly up into my face or eye 😀

@@360Link I normally use the white tip/40 degrees. I also normally use the digital display on 1or 2 levels. I did also get an extension for the hose to move around the car a bit easier. I also got the "wand" attachment, I find getting into the wheels, roof cuverage, sills and door jambs a bit better. I justified the K7 as I've got a large patio to clean too, but I'd be tempted with an Ava now. I think they were a Karcher reseller and there is compatibility with some components - double check that if you do buy one though.

Hi sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask this question but I’m unsure how to ask a question unrelated to the video.
2-3months ago I clay bared, m/c polished and waxed my car with Bilt Hamber double speed wax following your very instructive videos so thank you my 11year old car looks amazing. But my question is how do I refresh the wax coating? I could just reapply after a good wash but would there be fall out in the wax which would remain under the new coat. Or do I re clay bar and would remove the the old wax coat or should I use some other product if necessary. I would really appreciate your thought or even a video on how to reapply protective coatings as I don’t seem to be able to find much on this subject. Thanks for all your great advice regards John

Anyone watching this needs to buy the SGS35 it's £35 more but it's really worth it. I bought both with the intention on keeping one (the Mossmatic was just too expensive at double the price of the SGS35).
The SGS35 has a lighter trigger almost feather like compared to the cheaper one and the twist is better as it doesn't lock up under pressure. . Plus it's stainless not brass. After one wash with the cheaper one my hand hurt. The SGS35 is the sweet spot for the hobbyist, for Pro go for the Moss I'm sure it's worth it..

After I watched your video, I looked at a teardown of the SGS28 and of a Suttner and both look very similar internally. I then went and specced up the Suttner and well for the price of everything, I could buy 3 of the MTM guns from In2detailing. So actually, the MTM is good value for what you get.

I have had a home water softener for years but have always rinsed using a hose straight from the mains that doesn't go through the softener. @@bestcrazyboy8487 I do indeed. The Kranzle quick release stubby is excellent, such a good quick release system, really easy but really sturdy and secure as the spigot is long compared to the regular small quick releases you see on the nozzles.

Ps: I don’t think this is worth 75 quid, I don’t get why someone doesn’t just make this but you can still adjust the pressure on it. The whole fixed head thing seems a bit backward. I change the pressure several times to clean the microfibres during the wash, are you in to rinse my hands I change to light pressure, and then heavy pressure for wheels etc… also kind of like not having to bend down to rinse off the wheels etc.. and being at a fair distance from all the spray, Each to their own I guess
