  • This video is to tell you what the product descriptions don't, like that quality of the beam and laser splash etc.
    Talking about laser aiming devices for airsoft, mostly green lasers really and seeing which one is king.

    I never even considered the Mini Dbal until now... It's the most lightweight, the simplest in terms of function and takes up the least amount of rail "real estate"
    LAM's always have a weak/obsolete white light inside of them and I already have a white light on my gun that's waaaay more powerful anyway. So I'm digging LAM's that are just the lazer/ir lazer combo
    Great video

    I have a couple of the Element PEQ-15s, both with green lasers and the IR function. I never use them anymore though purely because I'm not sure of their potential to damage someone's eyes. Like you Ollie, I used them purely for pointing out targets, not aiming, but I don't want to be responsible for accidently blinding someone.

    The strobing laser is for certain nvgs that have a flicker rate that doesn't work with contant lasers. Garand Thumb mentioned this in a video reviewing the MAWL.

    Somogear do have a cheaper offering in the Lasers and flashlight config. I think it's about 80 or less but pretty well made and much cheaper than the ir illuminator version. And you don't need the illuminator one unless you have some night vision so might as well get the lasers for cheaper.
    Hopefully someone can lend one to you as there are a few somogear PEQ in the UK

    Ive got night vision and have a dbal and a perst 4 but they dont have the laser beam just the dot. I want the actual beam so think I need to buy a real one.

    I've the cheaper Somogear PEQ-15 with green laser. I needed to shave a little bit off the lower casing between the laser and flashlight heads in order to have the unit fit behind a replica Railscales Leaf front sight, but it's now a very neat little set-up. The Leaf saves you a couple of Picatinny slots as the PEQ can be mounted right up against/around it.
    Quality of the Somogear is very good. It's currently on an 11.5" URGI, but if I was ordering a laser unit again, I'd probably go for an DBAL or something slightly smaller than the PEQ-15/APTIAL. I now totally get why the 13.5" rail for the M4 is more popular 🤦🏻‍♂️

    I have read that green lasers are can potentially cause instantaneous and permeant damage to the retina. If so I think they are no no. I will only use red.
    FWIW, I managed to get hold of some Gen 2+ night vision and played a night game in some very very dark woods. tbh, it was one of the most enthralling and fun games I have played. Hyper tactical. Absolutely hooked.

    If you want a good replica peqbox like NGAL and different PEQ styles, i would recommend somogear, they cost a bit more but are of a good quality and hold zero with RS guns, so no problem for holding recoil on GBBR. The good thing with them is that they have sub 1mw IR laser, so they are mutch more safe to use compered to most chinese lasers out there. Its what the Eaotech and other companys making laser divices calls ''Eye safe''. But we all know that isnt the truth about laser.
    They are getting very popular with people who use NVG like myself and and several of my friends who also own NVG love them, also compered them with a friend of mine RS PEQ-15. and its close in both build quality and function.

      can say as an american real steel shooter, somogear is a damn near holosun level brand. Hold zero on 5.56/.223 and make impressive products at their price point.

    • @lofighost8811
      @lofighost8811 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Somogear makes lasers for RS guns and market them as airsoft so they dont get in trouble but their lasers are full power non civilian spec lasers that can do some serious damage

    Hey sorry if this is a dumb question but will these fit onto real AR15's or carbine rifles in general? I just bought a new rifle and want to just put a WADSN Raid X on it for looks. I'm not sure if Airsoft lasers will fit onto the picatinny rail on real steel.

      Very few in the 200usd range. The best full power that works on real firearms is the perst 4 clones. I owned a real one and both held zero on aks With ultimak gas tube mounts. No difference in ir or green vis. Crazy. However bump up to the G&P dbal metal clones at 200. They absolutely do work and beat all the civilian legal by alot. Dangerous for airsoft for the fact that they are not aligned with viz at all. They also shut on and off randomly. Back before somogear we potted these and aligned them properly. Still nobody ever modified them for proper crane plugs. Fast forward and somogear, spec precision. EG. Not much more. Pay for the quality control. Real steel or not. Perst clones with some common sense on an airsoft tho is it for budget ir. Still no illuminator. Kiji clones from spec precision are GTG tho and affordable.

    The ir laser will splash just like the vis one at least they do in the real steal ones I use in America

      @OllieTalksAirsoft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for confirming, and i didn't realise that was a thing for real IR lasers too!!

    • @bluebadger83
      @bluebadger83 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also if it’s like the real ones the lasers are staggered as you can see so if your vis laser is good and unobstructed your IR might not be considering what you have mounted in front of it light cables front sight post with side screw knobs and such if your slick out front this won’t matter but if the laser is father back on the rail and there is things like front sights lights positioned on different mounts it can get messed with

      The colour does not define the power.
      I have a green laser at 0.35 mw which is class 1 and fully eye-safe. It's the power of the laser that defines its class.
      And no, lasers above class 2 arn't banned for ownership but their sale is restricted.
