- In this video, we'll show you how PS5 remote play on PS4 works. You may have noticed after you transferred your data from your PS4 to your PS5 that there is a new app installed on your PS4 called PS5 Remote Play.
The PS5 Remote Play app allows you to connect over the internet to your PS5 from your PS4 anywhere. You can start gaming and playing games on your PS5 using your PS4 remotely.
The setup is pretty simple. You need to go on your PS5 and go to Settings, System, and Remote play and click on it to enable it. If you're not signed in to both your PS4 or PS5, you'll need to click on Link Device on the PS5 and get the code so that you can enter it on your PS4.
Now on your PS4, you just need to open up the PS5 Remote Play app and then click on Find your PS5. As said before, if you are signed into both consoles, the system will automatically find and connect you to your PS5.
You can play both PS5 and PS4 games. Graphics will appear lower since its streaming over the internet, and some games will have controller lag, especially if they are not designed for this feature.
This is a great way to extend the life of your PS4 and be able to play remotely someplace else.

This is a really cool feature that this can be done. I play from my girls house which is a 5 minute drive away. She like’s to play the ps5 game with the robot where you travel though the console. This games comes with the ps5 pre loaded. Anyway the connection can make it choppy but it’s a very cool feature that you can access your ps5 games remotely and play then on your ps4. Idk tho if your ps5 is off that you can turn it on with remote play so if you don’t wanna chance it then make sure it’s in stand by mode. Enjoy!
What options did you use to be able to set up away from home? I have no problem connecting at home but there is no point in that at all.

The best feature I got from this was that player 2, 3 and 4 can all play with Dualshock 4 controllers, so there's no need to buy secondary Dualsense controllers. This has been a feature for PS4 as well using your mobile for touch screen control, or a PS Vita, but this has always only allowed for 1 "cheap cheat" controller since only one user can connect using remote play.
It does work for PS5 as well (using the mobile, not the Vita) but using a PS4 like this allows for three extra players - or a fourth, if you misplaced your Dualsense.
How this mixes with Share Play is another issue, but I bet it will only work with either Share Play or Remote Play, not both no matter how few controllers you try to get away with.

Considering most console sales come around Christmas time i assume the collection will still be there around then. It’s probably to compensate for the lack of launch titles. I wouldn’t worry too much
Ps+ collection is not available on ps4 sadly... you’ll have to get a PS5
I would assume it should be around for awhile and probably will be something that sticks around to compete against Xbox Game Pass

I get to the part where I have to enter in the numbers from the ps5 on the ps4 but it just says “Cannot connect to ps5”. If anyone could help I’d greatly appreciate it

That’s rare. But the iPad or iPhone with PS4 or PS5 remote is common.

Yes although I don't see why would you since the PS5 is compatible with PS4 and you can just transfer your save data over so PS4 remote play on PS5 is pretty useless lol

I am just quite confused why you would want to control ps5 with your ps4? Why not just use them separately? Not to mention there is lagging with the remote control
for me personally i use it for the xim since xim doesnt work on ps5 but it works on ps4

Shitload of reasons, either you’re traveling. You want to play ps5 from a room where you don’t have the ps5. Or most useful you’re like me and your fucking hdmi port on the ps5 broke

Anyone else not able to see the game? I can navigate the ps5 home menu just fine but once I launch any game I just get a black screen, but the game audio is still playing. Anyone know how to fix this ?
Iv done this other way round ps5 digital to PS4 for disk PS4 game so I put my PS4 disk in and it transfer on to ps5 to play PS4 game

@@TheGintama86 yes if u got a PS4 connect to ps5 with internet cable then it will say on your screen remotely but make sure u put your PS4 pan as primary go to setting account primary make primary then u are ready put your PS4 game in your PS4 then go into ps5 and select remotely play ps5 connect to it u will see your PS4 on ps5

Do not do it. It because big problem with both. If you turn off PS5 while PS4 off then ps5 turned off, ps4 turned on. And after you want turn off PS4, PS5 turned on after PS4 off and over again and again.

I have my ps4 in my bed room and ps5 in living room I'd use it if I don't feel like disconnecting and connecting the HDMI n power cables

If you live with your parents, your dad own your ps5 while you have ps4. PS5 in your dad room, your ps4 in your room.
You use your PS4 remote play and bam you get to use PS5, simple as that.
