I own the magic keyboard and don’t see a need for the function row. Everything that is available on the function is is available on either the physical device or I. Control Center. People are forgetting that this is a touch screen device.
I had a 10th gen iPad th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U . Felt it getting pretty slow at times even after doing a reset. So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.
can we stick our IPAD at the back of our magic keyboard case for note taking. does it stick to the front side when we close the case...?? does the magnet work back side also..??? like when you close the case...the front side of the case does your ipad sticks so that your ipad is safe while writing...???
Very professional review. I love my magic keyboard -- it really enhances my experience. I also like that you can easily remove the iPad keyboard if you are just reading newspapers where you don't need to interact.
Great review - really well done and I would definitely replace my MacBook Pro with this combo. Yes the KB is expensive but the last time I checked I can’t rip the screen off my MacBook to watch a show. You could definitely buy both but this is a great way to get even more functionality out of an iPad
I really enjoyed your review I have an Magic Keyboard to go with my iPad Air and really like the experience for me it has replaced my MacBook I find myself using it all the time and I really don’t miss the function row like I thought I would I had gotten pretty used to it really quickly and it is a good value I was able to get mine from Amazon for 199 which is better than paying the original price from Apple from what I would say
Hi Terren, Excellent witty and informative review. My Question to you is, where did you get your small gray marble laptop/tablet desk which is featured in your video?
Great review, I plan on pairing this set up with an IMac M1 while I'm at school. IMac for the apartment, IPad/Magic Keyboard for the classroom and library. Seems like the perfect combination.
I know this was uploaded ages ago, but I have a question in case you might hopefully fingers crossed get notified about this comment: Does the magic keyboard charge the ipad air? I mean, I have the air 4 rather than the m1 air but it might hopefully be similar (as far as i know the smart connector is identical) I'm going to finish school soon and idk if I'd need it as a tablet, but it would be very cool to keep using it as it gets older as a homekit base or somehing similar to a google home
Thanks for the comment! No, it does not unfortunately. It's just a keyboard accessory. It definitely would be cool if it had a battery built in, but then I'd imagine it'd make it heavier than it already is. Thanks for watching my friend :)
The opening of the keyboard is misunderstood because of the placement of the camera. Users are opening the device from the wrong side. If you open it from the plain side, it opens very easily. I think Apple dropped the ball in thinking users would figure this out ourselves.
Hi Terren, Excellent witty and informative review. My Question to you is, where did you get your small gray marble laptop/tablet desk which is featured in your video?
I have heard of problems with the smart connector connection with the keyboard where the magic keyboard will have issues connecting. I partly believe it because I used a Smart Keyboard for 3 years and had to replace it twice and my wife’s stopped working after 6 months. Have you had any issues like this and how long have you had it for?
I have an iPad air 4 (without the magic keyboard) how do you have the widget slide on the left side of the wallpaper? Do I need to have a key board to have this but I can’t figure it out
Correct. Apple Makes great products and for the most part their tablets desktops and phones are well priced… However their accessories are insanely out of reality priced
@@danielbennett8411I just bought an iPad Air 11” M2nand found an open box Magic Keyboard for $99 w/ free shipping. It might as well be a factory sealed keyboard because it is perfect. I would never pay what Apple is asking for the keyboard. Ridiculously overpriced at retail.
I think the Magic Keyboard is the best keyboard case for an iPad, but I do think it is way overpriced. I got a refurbished one for my iPad Air for about $160, which I think is a reasonable price for what you are getting. I think if Apple priced this at $200 it would have been a much better price point. If you are looking for a Magic Keyboard try to find refurbished ones, mine works and looks like it was new.
I 100% agree with this notion. If you’re getting a Magic Keyboard, go for a reflurbished one, or open box. I’m getting an open box Magic Keyboard for $130
Cannot get the keys to type, also iPad is not staying on board, the magnetic sucks, whey am I doing wrong? Also the screen is upside down.. help me ple
I like to have it but I just dont see me using it enough to justify the cost. I think I bought a keyboard for another iPad and NEVER used it. Granted, I’m sure it’s a lot better keyboard than the older keypad
Congrats on 14K subs! I just subbed today myself! Good review! I went and bought a keyboard for my M1 iPad Pro for $100 less than the Apple Magic Keyboard. It’s called the Apple Magic Keyboard on sale for $199. I bought the previous SKU on sale, so that they can stock the new SKU. Makes no sense for the 11” iPad Pro because nothing changed, unless they did something internally on the new SKU like the magnets, for example. Not sure if I want to stay with the iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard though. I might return it and see if a new MacBook Pro is announced at WWDC. I’m a bit torn, because I like the ability to hold just the iPad screen portion while leaving the keyboard. I also like having the touchscreen user experience. However, I’m not artistic nor have great handwriting, so I don’t need the Pencil. So, I’m still thinking that a traditional laptop might better suit my purposes. Then, I can still use my old iPad mini 4 on the couch comfortably. But there’s a lot to like about the new M1 iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard.
The magic keyboard will only work with the iPad Pro 12.9 inch from 2018 and up or the iPad Pro 11 inch or the iPad Air 10.9 inch (4th generation) because the other iPads lack the magnets and the form factor to connect and work with this accessory
that is cool video thank you but please never review dusty item. I was crying every time camera get close to the keyboard. It's so dirty I am sorry I couldn't hold not to say that please accept my apologize :(
Touch with face I.D should have just given fingerprint scan if you have to swipe anyway. To be honest this M1 is living in a stone age device. Better off with 2020 if you already have an iPad. I'd only tell people to get this if the first iPad 2021
Lol …..you open it like a book foo…… it is not hard to open once you know how to open, no nails needed or anything…. You just gotta find out how to do it …. Therefore you’re recebe it’s not good
Nice review. Separately a critique that holds for most TH-cam content providers. Don't ask me for a "Subscribe" or thumbs up until AFTER I've watched your presentation!
Well your stupid explanation of Keyboard light will not bring you 15000 subscribers! I have my keyboard that cost close to 400$ I want to use light when I want and how I want, I don't want to depend of half ass sensor that works like turn signal! 😅! Think next time!

youtube algo is cool man, I found you few mins back and I already started liking your videos LOL
That's awesome!! Thank you :)
Is older iPad pro (12.9" 2020 4th Generation) Magic Keyboard compatible with the iPad air 11" (2024 6th Generation )with M2 chip ?
Fantastic review! Thank you for your hard work, keep it going!
I have it for the 12.9” iPad. I like it, but I find the ESR Rebound version to be more comfortable to type on.
I think I’m going to justify buying this by telling myself I don’t need a new laptop

Just waiting for WWDC to buy my iPad Pro and the Magic Keyboard. Great video Terren!
Very informative and clean video, enjoyed the experience without all the "noise" that others throw in.
Great review! Amazing how you went into all of the details including weight and balance of the keyboard vs screen 👍. Thanks!

@@TerrenRule tysm for the quick answer, awesome video!
How did you get your home screen to look like that? I've been playing around with widgets and settings and I can't figure it out.
My school is giving me this package deal for free. I get the Air, Pen and keyboard. I'm excited.
Sweet!!
Thank you so much for this video… i was confused whether to buy a lap or Magic Keyboard for uni
where's the white one with backlight keys?

I want to grab it and start using it😂! But seriously very informative review of SAID magic keyboard. Will definitely be getting!
Thanks to this video, I've decided to give it a try and get this item.

I’ve had laptops computers and iPads in the past what I prefer set up I have now that you’re showing including Apple Pencil that’s all you need
Is this better or more convenient to bring on work travels compared to macbook air?
Are accessories connected to the keyboard's USB-C port available to the iPad? Or does it only only do charge?
I’m glad I found you man, this is very good content, thanks!
Ooo I would love to get this but so pricey 🤓 great video ✌🏽
Excellent review! Thank you!

Thanks Sir for this video, I was confused between the Logitech and apple's keyboard....now I can definitely go for Logitech combo touch
I hope you reply, it would help me a lot :( Does magic keyboard work on iPad 9th generation?
Thank you very much for that in-depth and very helpful review.

Well made review man! Really love my Magic Keyboard too haha. It’s so comfortable to use and I love writing on it.
the keyboard is way overpriced. As simple as that. Yes it's nice but it is too expensive for what it offers.
still bought it tho pashuwgw
Correct. Apple Makes great products and for the most part their tablets desktops and phones are well priced… However their accessories are insanely out of reality priced

I bought mine used off of ebay for like 200 dollars less, basically like new
