Good review👍👍 Richard Question. why is Tooltop not able to change the MCX connectors to BNC? Ten or more try's to work with this in the field and the connectors are history.😵💫😵💫
Looks quite nice but not the sort of thing I have much use for, on the few occasions I need a scope it is likely to be in the 160-170MHz range and I can borrow a 200MHz scope for that. If it ever becomes difficult to find probes with MCX connectors or you have preferred probes with BNC connectors then adapters are readily available.
Incredibly I woke up 9am Saturday morning (Aussie time) thinking that I need an oscilloscope, made a coffee and jumped straight onto your channel to see if you had any videos. Sure enough you made this one while I was sleeping. I am delving into Audio Amplifier repair. My Question: Would this dual channel unit allow me to run the signal generator into 2 audio channels and compare stereo outputs with one another?
I would recommend using a splitter such as is used to split a TV antenna signal when feeding two audio channels to isolate and reduce the loading. Most often the splitter I am referring to is a low cost device using type F connectors - so one would either have to modify it - or use an adapter or simply source a splitter with the appropriate connectors. Also one could easily fabricate the adapter with a short flying co-axial cable between the two connectors F-Type > BNC (or whatever connector one needs )
I suppose it would be acceptable to carry in the standard tool kit for field service work. As you correctly state - it would not be recommended as a bench oscilloscope in the workshop given that one can purchase 2 channel and 4 channel 100MHz and even 200MHz at a very reasonable price. Some Bench oscilloscopes also are able to operate from a battery source. Keeping in mind that one should have an isolation transformer in the workshop anyway and capable at minimum o operate at 2A or better. In my workshop I have PV panels / Inverter that supplies an isolated floating power source - I can easily draw 12 A on the 16A circuit breaker. The rule of thumb is 80% of the Max current rating. Not that I would even ever have to draw 12 Amps of current. The question I have is: Can the device be used as a Signal generator / Signal source and Oscilloscope simultaneously ? * I still have a hand-held portable signal generator from PHILIPS dating back to the late 1960s /1970s - and it still functions as it did when new.
Really, just more junk.😮 Thanks for the review mate. 😊Without folks like you doing what you do, ‘we the other folks would be just screwed when it comes to buying such equipment.😮
You are welcome to your opinion of course but personally I think it is rather unfair to call this junk. It isnt' suitable for every scenario but it is an inexpensive hand held battery powered dual channel scope with a clear display, a nice User Interface and capable of helping you repair a lot of items such as SMPS, motherboard, GPU and a lot of audio faults. I would be quite happy to have it in my tool box to be honest. Yeah sure there are better specced oscilloscopes out there especially if you want or need to spend a considerable amount of money to get those features. This scope is not a thoroughbred but I stand by the fact it is a useful work horse. At the very least can we call it useful junk?
@@LearnElectronicsRepair Okay, useful junk. (LOL) why don’t you design and build the , to you, the perfect scope and demo your scope on video showing the necessary changes needed done to make a scope that would fill so many other test that this scope you just demonstrated want do? Please give it a try. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with me.
I would ve been curious about the FFT function it claims to have, if you ever plan to ad anithing to this review then i'm up for this :)
Nice oscilloscope
Can you tell more about signal generator and spec.
Good review👍👍 Richard

この1chのモデルを所有していす中々良いオシロ。 2chのこのモデルも良さげだけど パルス幅の測定は如何でしょうか?

Yeah it should be quite able to do that if you want to trace signals.

Do you know what is it's maximum single sweep sampling rate? I didn't see it in their specs.
hi from antigua and barbuda😀😀😀
So jealous. From grey wet UK.
Hi in return from Gran Canaria ☀🏖 ☀
Does it output data to computer?
I don't believe so. Very few of these do. If you're interested in a computer outputting scope, look at the USB based scopes :)
Yes, it does.
@@BlazinEmperor is it mentioned in the manual? I had a read over what I could find and I don't remember seeing anything.

Heya nice review, maybe as a field tool it's oke but that's it

dont like the connectors
I did mention them...
