I don’t know if it’s the effect of the camera but I think the gel side looks better. Gives more coverage and makes your face look lifted and younger.
My friends in Japan told me they use the essence on their face and the gel on their body. Just thought I’d share what I heard from the locals 😊

Thanks SO SO much for this review and comparison! I got the Watery Gel version and was quite worried it might have been expired because of the white particles in it and the fact that it felt a bit tacky and left a bit of a white cast. But it turns out, that's just how this sunscreen is, haha. xD I'll have to switch to the Watery Essence next time, I think that's the one everybody raves about on the internet. The Watery Gel is not bad, but I was definitely expecting it to look like the Watery Essence and panicked when it didn't.

In my experience, those white particles actually are a sign of being expired. When i first bought it it didnt have that and was totally smooth. I left it in a suit case for a couple years (forgotten) and when i finally found it, it had started to go bad and had the white particles.
@@1003720 Oh nooo... ( ; __ ; ) Thanks for taking the time to write, I'll stop wearing it now. I was only using it inside the house anyway, because of its white cast, but that's still not okay. I actually bought it a year ago, I got a huge parcel from yesstyle and it took me a while to go through all the products. But it sat in a drawer unopened, so I guess I was hoping it was still okay.

I just bought the product and I happened to find a weird spreading on the skin, so I had that same concern😥 it kind of separates a bit when I start to blend it in (it’s not a white homogeneous liquid) and as i rub it in more it seems to adjust. The thing is, I have just bought it! To your knowledge, is that worth worring about? Thanks a lot!
@@lolo_pm It's totally possible that it's normal for it to be like that and I'm the one who got a weird one. If you bought it from a reputable place I wouldn't worry. I bought mine from a very slow, not bustling gas station in Thailand so I was worried it sat there for a long time lol.
I've always wondered if I should just apply it to one spot on my leg and go out in the sun for a while to check if its still effective. (I tan very easily) If you don't mind a pale splotch you could try that! Maybe you could make it a heart shape or something haha
Watery Gel is a hybrid of Mineral and Chemical Sunscreen while Watery Essence is a Chemical Sunscreen..Mineral based sunscreen is better for our skin though
The Biore Aqua Rich Watery LOTION is what I love out of the 3. I have very, very oily medium brown skin. It’s really watery than the gel version. No cast, natural finish, absorbs super fast, and doesn’t sting my eyes. The essence makes my face a bit oily after 2-3 re-application. Both essence and lotion version doesn’t leave white cast even after 2-3 re-application at 1/4 teaspoon amount per application while the gel version does.
I can't find the lotion in my country.

@@keithkirbyobillo4484 Hi! It’s sticky after application but ok when dries down already. I don’t get as greasy as other sunscreen but still gets greasy after sometime. I have yet to find a sunscreen that’s not greasy after a long time in the skin.
Hi so would you say the Biore Aqua rich water lotion is the best out of the 3 for oily skin, and then 2nd beds is essence then gel? cuz idk which essence or gel to get, i have combo/oily skin, so would you say the essence is better for tha skin type and doesn’t leave any white cast? Thanks!
@@nishishabima I would definitely say LOTION is best then ESSENCE then GEL. It’s my sunscreen for all 3 seasons except winter - I need a little thicker/creamier as winter seem to suck all the water from my skin. All variants doesn’t leave any cast from my experience.
EDIT: Gel leaves slight cast after re-application for dark skin. For fair, no need to worry. Sorry, I forgot to mention about re-application.

Essence has the alcohol and has strong smell. The gel one was tested independently in South Korea as SPF 57!

wIll the alcohol be bad for the skin? maybe cause some breakouts?
@@cedrickbote5441 depends, there's actually a good and bad alcohol in skincare so not all alcohol will be bad for our skin. If you're sensitive and more likely to get irritated might as well avoid alcohol and fragrances.
But since only the gel has the bigger size and is more cost efficient, I'm willing to use it even for my face

Ahh I love this video! I have been looking for someone with a similar skin tone and undertone as mine to review this sunscreen. I have a medium skin tone with very strong yellow undertones and the bluish hue of sunscreens look absolutely awful on me.

I have dry skin I use Watery Gel it was shipped from Japan my sis bought it last August and it has white small particles I dont know what is it.
I actually like the gel look better, kinda like a bb cream

Hi! My skin is very oily since I have PCOS and the Bioré Watery Gel really worked for me. It does not leave a white cast on my face and does not keep my face greasy throughout the day.
In my opinion, the Bioré Watery Essence will really work for Normal to Dry Skin while the Watery Gel works best for Oily to Acne Prone Skin. Both sunscreen has Alcohol and if you guys have Sensitive Skin better do a patch test first to avoid burns and marks.
+ I don't really recommend the Watery Essence to people with Oily Skin since it has a dewy finish which leaves the skin very greasy but it's still up to you and your skin's preference.

I just don't like the essence kasi it has strong smell compare to gel 'DAW' but I think I prefer it more than the watery gel coz I'm so done with white cast 😭😂
