I live in Singapore and have tried most of the Asian sunscreens. The new Biore is nice and light for days when it is too hot even for the silicones in the Annessa. I still love it though and always wear it for swimming and outside walks. It’s pretty much perfect. Love the way it makes your skin look better.
I am a huge fan of the Bioré sunscreen. The alcohol doesn’t bother my skin either and the texture feels lovely even when you reapply on a hot summers day.
Stylevanna is my total go-to for my Korean skincare products that I review. I live in 🇨🇦 & have never had issue with my ordering (whispers softly... and I place a lot of orders 🙃) ❣️ thx for another great video!

@@arvi8843 Right now, I'm using Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk (a hybrid sunscreen) or Axis-Y No Stress Physical Sunscreen. (BTW I have super oily, but dehydrated skin)
My life literally CHANGED when I found the SkinAqua sunscreen. It’s not only the BEST sunscreen I’ve ever used, but I think it’s formulation has overall improved my skin in small ways.
It’s been 2 weeks since I started Rohto Melano CC and Anessa Perfect UV, both easy to apply (3 layers of Anessa 😆 in my combination skin). Just love this channel! 🥰
I love Japanese beauty products! I used to live in Japan and that's how I got into it many years ago, and then discovered K-Beauty only recently in the past year. I find Asian Beauty much better than western brands, although Japanese ones tend to be pricey compared to Korean brands in general
I've been wanting to try it since I live in Japan now and have easy access to it, but this makes me wonder how much Vit C is really in there if it can stay clear and stable for that long. Thanks for sharing that!
@@denisea.9033 Probably about 5% of Vit C.. it stays stable so long because the packaging is completely opaque, airless, and protects from heat.. I think
@@denisea.9033 Yeah, the stability is all about the packaging. It's my most favorite Vit C on the market cuz it's the most effective for dark spots after acne I've found. Some mix it with moisturizer.
Thanks for your responses reva & Nina. I do have some post acne hyperpigmentation marks so I think I'll give it a try, though it doesn't seem to have too much Vit C in it. Maybe that will make it easier on my sensitive skin.
Same here.. Mine also have been opened for almost 2 years, yes it's still clear and effective as on day one. The best vit C serum stability i ever had, and it works amazingly compares to the others.
The Biore Aqua Watery Essense is the one for me. The first time I tried it, I was taking my kids to float the river (2 and a half hours on reflective water). My kids applied physical sunscreen 3 times during the trip and all ended up burnt or slightly burnt. I applied Biore Aqua once and didn't even get a tan.
Thank you for the reviews! There is now a new Melano CC Premium Brightening Essence with different ingredients. More expensive, but supposed to last 5-6 months using every day.
I really appreciate that you always mention whether they irritate your eyes! I'm sooo sensitive and don't need to spend half the day being asked what's wrong because my eyes won't stop watering! 😂
My favourite Anessa sunscreens are Whitening UV Gel AA SPF 50+ and Perfect UV Skincare Milk A SPF 50+. They have reformulated the Perfect UV Mild to a 2021 version ; Perfect UV Mild Milk N, with Shiseido's new "Smooth Protect Technology". Can't wait to try it when it's available for purchase from/in Malaysia. I agree that the 2020 Mild version was quite whitecastey and never truly set. But honestly, in terms of performance, nothing beats the Anessa Perfect UV Milk. Korean VS Japanese sunscreens? I don't think Korean sunscreens even had a chance.
I love the anessa sunscreen. I live in japan so I have easy access to it but it is quite expensive. But since it doesn't leave a cast on my skin and it just feels good, it will always be my go- to. I also have the melano CC and haven't used it in a few weeks because I wasn't sure if it would work for me . I will actually try using it consistently for a month and see what I get. Thanks for this much needed review!
Can you review Black Girl Sunscreen Kids please?....I'm a black women and use it everyday because I couldn't find a mineral one that agreed with my skin or didn't turned white.
I love the Melano CC. The packaging is such a great design. The Skin Aqua series used to be my favorite sunscreen series. Unfortunately I developed allergies towards methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (and got some cross reaction with some other sunscreen agents), so can not use it any more. If you can use sunscreens with organic uv filters it is gold though.
I just bought the melano CC from Stylevana and despite trying to read and watch a lot about it and it’s effectiveness, I was still so glad to see Michelle finally review this, and am now even more excited to try it !
Your videos are always excellent! You’re highly-educated and articulate, yet have the ability to dumb everything down so most everyone can understand. Yore also REALLY good at giving just enough information. Your videos are super valuable!
I'd also love a video about la Roche posay products - especially their sunscreens but also things like their effeclar serum and toleraine ultra fluid moisturizer!
I’m genuinely sad my Melano CC is getting over. It was absolutely gorgeous. Helped my stress-induced acne a lot. I can’t wait my hands on it again! I have peri oral dermatitis and extreme dry skin and it didn’t trouble me at all.
The CC essence cleared up a horrible patch of resistant acne and inflammation on my cheek. Came across it purely by chance on holiday. It also got rid of the purple discolouration patch of the acne too.
@@dan0115 I've never heard of the premium one! Perhaps it's just a marketing description and is the same thing? I did notice they had two versions of face mask; basic and not basic. The not basic (premium?) had added olive oil in it. I have not tried the range with added Olive Oil. My tube was just called 'Melano CC essence'. It came in a narrow box, in a metal squeezable tube with yellow lid and fancy nozzle as she demonstrated in the video. Be careful not to buy the 'Brightening Cream'. The box looks nearly identical but it's a different product entirely.
Thank you so much. I just heard about the Biore sunscreen and couldn’t find any recent reviews. I’m always on the hunt for that perfect facial sunscreen.

I love Korean skin care and sun screen, there are so many choices and they usually suit my skin. Love em. BTW, your makeup looks great! You wear colours I love. Great lip tints too.
The first product contains Ascorbyl palmitate, a recent studied showed that it intensifies skin damage with UVB exposure! (Lipid peroxidation and cytotoxicity)
Ok, now I'm super interested in trying the Rohto Melano CC. Also I recently got the Anessa mild milk instead of the normal one and I really hope it works just as well. The original Anessa is my favorite sunscreen of all time.
I’m so excited to hear about the Some by mi body wash! I use the toner and cream from that line and love it and think the body wash would be really beneficial for me. That lip colour really suits you! It’s so pretty 🤩
The Japanese KAO sunscreens I always have a good experience with. Most are water resistant and hold up really well in outdoor environments. Highly recommend as long as you are not sensitive to alcohol.
If you have sensitive skin be warned, that Biore UV Watery Essence sunscreen burns my skin like nothing else. Had to wash it off then I accidentally got it near my eyes while washing it off and it burned like crazy all day. I have particularly sensitive skin and eyes so this is probably a perfectly lovely product for most people. The texture is awesome but the burning is intolerable.
Thank you! I got it bleached to white (I omky did one round of bleach this time), asked for a blended root close to the scalp, and now I wash with a DIY purple conditioner (about 1:1 purple hair dye and conditioner). It's pretty low maintenance but the purple does often end up patchy if I'm not careful!
i love the romand lip products especially figfig. i have the zero velvet tint and what i like it that it sticks to the inner part of my lip so you don't have this separation between your lip and gums. i apply a little to the middle/inner parts of my lips and smudge it out to the rest of my lips and then i like to add the juicy lasting tint over it.
Wow it’s like you read my mind; I’ve been wanting to try the anessa and the Bioderma screens next (trying to replace my beloved discontinued Skin Aqua Sarafit 😭). Which holy shit I just discovered Stylevana also still sells, so I’m definitely getting a couple of those too! Dude 🙏🏻 you’re an angel.
I do environmental restoration work so I'm always working outside and always get dirty!! I definitely want something light, but also good with sweat and dirt....
Yes the SkinAqua stings my eyes too if I apply too close. But it WORKS! We went to the zoo yest in bright, sunny, scorching weather n I didn’t have any colour change or burning. Granted, I applied a shit-ton and reapplied every 2hours. My fav active sunscreen.
@@Adeline79100 Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. They're constantly reformulating (I use the 2020 version) but it still contains dimethicone. Works great for my super oily skin but I can see how it can be bad for people who are sensitive to that ingredient.
I was so disappointed in both the Anessa UV Gel and the Biore UV Essence. The cast on the Anessa gel is ghastly, and it sucks every ounce of moisture from my skin. The Biore Essence is maaaad glossy - no amount of powder can mattify - it’s greasy, and it pills so badly. :(
Haven't tried the Anessa one but if you find the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence too glossy, then try the Biore Athlizm Essence instead. It dryes down to a very natural finish, not fully matte and not glowy, it just leaves the skin moisturised without a lot of glow.
Interedting. the anessa is so moisturizing for me and does not leave a white cast and I haven’t tried the Biore UV essence but I also use their Athlizm SPF and it’s more matte but v light and resistant
For sunscreen, I love Shiseido Senka Anti aging suncreen and Canmake sunscreen. Still, they are both Japanese products. And Japanese brands are my first go to for sunscreen
the anessa sunscreen is amazing for the beach. it literally feels like a layer of rubber on your face after it dries and i couldn't get it off with any cleansing oil or balm i have, only with cotton rounds, micellar water and vigorous rubbing, which makes it horrible for everyday wear but for the beach or super active days in the sun it's perfect.
Fellow fan of Anessa Perfect UV sunscreen here. I use the mild / sensitive version, and remove all of it with zero tugging using an emulsifying cleansing oil! Currently I'm using Hada Labo's hydrating cleansing oil, but I've heard good things about Muji's Sensitive Oil Cleansing too. Maybe try one of those?
If you want an affordable dupe, try the Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk! (Blue bottle) It has the same light milk texture and natural finish. It's water resistant and has hybrid chemical/physical filters. (But not as many as the Anessa.) I've really been liking it on my oily-dehydrated skin!
Ohh the cult fave Biore has Uvinul A plus.. and it's fomulation change frequently? haha I should have not thrown out the box then. I have no idea if this has the latest ingredients *I just used google translate camera, mine contains octinoxate, tinosorb S and uvinul A plus.. oooh. the octinoxate helps these two UV filters to reach the SPF 50 perhaps. I wonder this is what Purito and Klairs will do with their sunscreen to keep the texture nice and the protection photstable
Can confirm the Melano CC takes ages to oxidise in that packaging. And it sinks in nicely, never felt irritating and has a pleasant enough lemon scent. Unfortunately it didn't have any pigmentation fading effects for me but that might be a personal thing. I've yet to find a vitamin C serum that actually does that for me. I'm not sure where you get a floral scent from the Biore sunscreen though lol It's like rubbing hand sanitizer on your face, a massively overpowering cloud of alcohol for a few seconds until it's starting to evaporate. Same for the Skin Aqua gel. For me it didn't sting in the eye area though beyond that first alcohol note. It definitely is a little drying for me however. But I also live in Germany, our winters are harsher than Australia. If I lived in a warmer, more humid climate or had really oily skin I could probably use it year round. If you haven't tried it already give the Skin Aqua super moisture milk a go. I love that one because it has no alcohol and while it feels really oily while applying it dries down into a nice satin smooth finish. I also feel you on the back acne. My hair is really long so I also live the heavy conditioner life. Washing with one of those long scrubby towels and body wash after my hair is rinsed and out of the way helped me immensely but that body wash sure sounds intriguing.
Stylevana does not ship to my country Finland at all, while Yesstyle and Jolse do...Yesstyle is by far the best site to purchase for me because they have the customs fee refund system and their shipping (6€) is the most affordable below the free shipping limit (100€)...Jolse's shipping is much higher with 18 USD and their free shipping limit is very high..150 something if I remember correctly. Of course for other countries these prices are better but unfortunately these K beauty sites have quite poor shipping to the northern edge of Europe🙁 I've checked also other online retailers like roseroseshop but their shipping is even more expensive.
Try out the Belo Sunscreen from the Philippines. The spray on one is a really nice chemical sunscreen and has zero white cast. When applied to the body it also gives a really nice sheen.
The skin aqua is amazing it doesn't burn at all on my eyes. It's my #1 spf also because it's the only spf that goes well on facial hair. Shaka liquid by La Roche Posay is also great but it's annoying on the eyes, it doesn't burn but it impairs my vision.
I use the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel every day and my dry skin loves it. I have also tried the Biore sunscreen and really enjoy it. -My favourite Japanese sunscreen is the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Essence though.

These products are very popular - thanks for the helpful review! I'm allergic to zinc oxide so I can't use the Anessa Milk but I got the gel version. I also recommend the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gold edition. I find that application is not as blotchy as compared to the regular one.
I've used the pre 2019 Biore formula and the 2019's texture is much better. Although 2019 can pill more with whatever skincare is underneath, the first 15 minutes feel less greasy and it sinks in better. Also definitely more watery feeling and spreadable
The newer formulation has ruined my skin breaking me out in sever cystic acne and caused acne and burns on lots of other customers except those reviews have been paid to be hidden.
I tried the SOME BY MI - AHA-BHA-PHA 30days Miracle kit (Toner + serum + moisturizer), and sadly, even though nearly everyone praise them, it made me break out sooo much, and the serum has a really greasy and gross finish. That proved me how subjective skincare is (and so now I don't really know what to buy ahaha)
I saw the biore sunscreen in the picture and I just bought it. I haven’t tried it yet so I’m hoping it’s good 😭 Edit: I came here to make sure the sunscreen was good and ended up buying the body cleanser, lip tints, and more sunscreen
The newer formulation has ruined my skin breaking me out in sever cystic acne and caused acne and burns on lots of other customers except those reviews have been paid to be hidden.
The really sweat and water resistant sunscreens - are the older gen filters in these less likely to absorb into skin considering its strong film forming behaviour? Like shiseido’s wetforce and lrp Shaka fluid?
I would assume so - in general sunscreens are formulated to try to avoid absorption, because once the filters absorb past the living cells they're not going to protect them. But I don't know of any publicly available data on a comparison...
I love Rom&nd! I'm caucasian af so I'm not really sure what tone would work on my skin, #08 rose stream is lovely anyway, and I love that it isn't sticky. The Biore sunscreen (2017 formula) sadly broke me out. I haven't tried the Melano CC but I'm more interested now than I was before, for sure. Thanks for the video ❤️

I usually get dark spots from the smallest of blemishes and if I do get them now, they don't linger for very long. My skin has become move even in tone and texture as well.
I'm so so thankful for this and I hope the universe rewards your for the good work you do!
Yay that’s so good to hear!
My bioré watery essence is a bit yellow, is it normal?
@@windskm yeah that’s normal, mine is a bit yellow too although it was the older formula.
Stylevanna is my total go-to for my Korean skincare products that I review. I live in 🇨🇦 & have never had issue with my ordering (whispers softly... and I place a lot of orders 🙃) ❣️ thx for another great video!
I've found the exact opposite. I've ordered from them twice and each time, it has been absolutely awful and the customer service has been shocking. So I just don't get my staples from there, I only use their website when I want to try something new that I can wait to receive
Michelle you gotta drop the workout routine, we want to be buff too!
Pole classes for 10+ years 😉
Whoa didn't see that one coming!
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience wow that's amazing😳
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Nuoooo 😍! I so want to know which studio you go to in Sydney but I won't ask. Yay from a fellow poler
I'm almost out of my tube of Melano CC, still completely clear after almost 6 months. Thanks for the discount code for my next tube!
I'm surprised you say the biore sunscreen has a floral scent. My version smells like straight up rubbing alcohol😅
I think my smell receptors are a bit desensitised to alcohol after 2020... Skin Aqua still hits though!
I used to think it smelled slightly floral (I used it for 5 years) but after I went alcohol-free in 2020, now when I smell the Biore I'm like WHOA HOLY ALCOHOL MOLY
The newer formulation has ruined my skin breaking me out in sever cystic acne and caused acne and burns on lots of other customers except
those reviews have been paid to be hidden.
@@okashi10 🤣 What have you been using now?
@@arvi8843 Right now, I'm using Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk (a hybrid sunscreen) or Axis-Y No Stress Physical Sunscreen.
(BTW I have super oily, but dehydrated skin)
My life literally CHANGED when I found the SkinAqua sunscreen. It’s not only the BEST sunscreen I’ve ever used, but I think it’s formulation has overall improved my skin in small ways.
I want to try but am scared at the alcohol content, my skin is suuper dry
@@ube4856 my skin is very dry and I use this sunscreen it doesn’t dry out my skin at all! Leaves a very dewy finish too
It’s been 2 weeks since I started Rohto Melano CC and Anessa Perfect UV, both easy to apply (3 layers of Anessa 😆 in my combination skin).
I must admit, I have the Rohto Melano Vit C for almost 2 years and it's still clear and effective as on day one.
I’ve been raving about Rohto Melano CC and Skin Aqua for so long...
Stylevana needs all these influencers to get them customers because the actual customer reviews are wiiiiild.
It's kinda frustrating that most sunscreens come in small bottles.. esp when it's meant to be used throughout the day!
Hahahahaha! "idk why Asian is in my intro...but I'm committed!" So cute!!
I’ve been using that Anessa SPF and I love it even more now that it’s Lab Muffin approved! 🙌🏻
Thank you for the reviews! There is now a new Melano CC Premium Brightening Essence with different ingredients. More expensive, but supposed to last 5-6 months using every day.
Your hair looks SO good! It was totally worth it!!
Michelle is slowly becoming my favorite youtuber. She's not only super smart but very funny too. :)
Mine too.
She cracks me up.
It's the way she says the most ridiculous things, with a deadpan face LOL
Hi Michelle, would you consider doing a video on peptides? Best concentration levels, types, benefits etc.? Love you and all of your videos!
Can you review Black Girl Sunscreen Kids please?....I'm a black women
and use it everyday because I couldn't find a mineral one that agreed
with my skin or didn't turned white.
“and ... Asian”
lmao
I just bought the melano CC from Stylevana and despite trying to read and watch a lot about it and it’s effectiveness, I was still so glad to see Michelle finally review this, and am now even more excited to try it !
Hey did you try that? And which version of it you tried?
Ohmygod this video contains everything that I've been looking for. Good sunscreen recommendations and what lipstick are you wearing 😆😆😆

The skin aqua is my daily sunscreen, so good and great value
I have seen some lightening of brown spots on cheeks with Rhoto Malano CC cream.
I really like the Anessa Perfect UV.
The CC essence cleared up a horrible patch of resistant acne and inflammation on my cheek. Came across it purely by chance on holiday. It also got rid of the purple discolouration patch of the acne too.
Hi there I’m trying to buy it and use for the first. There’s a premium version of it. What’s the difference?
The newer formulation has ruined my skin breaking me out in sever cystic acne and caused acne and burns on lots of other customers except those reviews have been paid to be hidden.
Had the same problem of conditioner causing back acne. Flipping my hair over my head and washing my hair that way completely got rid of it.
I love Korean skin care and sun screen, there are so many choices and they usually suit my skin. Love em. BTW, your makeup looks great! You wear colours I love. Great lip tints too.
Your videos are always very helpful! Thank you! 🌷
I agree that Stylvana is a great way to shop. Thanks for highlighting these items and congratulations on your sponsorship!
The first product contains Ascorbyl palmitate, a recent studied showed that it intensifies skin damage with UVB exposure! (Lipid peroxidation and cytotoxicity)
Im new to this channel so since i love your content i most likely will binge watch this til i watched EVERYTHIIIING. Yaaay 💕 so excited ❤️
Ok, now I'm super interested in trying the Rohto Melano CC. Also I recently got the Anessa mild milk instead of the normal one and I really hope it works just as well. The original Anessa is my favorite sunscreen of all time.
such a great video! i’ve been wondering about these 🤔🤔🤔
I’m so excited to hear about the Some by mi body wash!
Loved this !!!! So excited to see you check out other hyped asian skincare :)
Michelle, how did you get that hair color??? It looks so great with roots or barley age, sort of glowy somehow.
Omgosh!!!! Thank you for sharing Stylevana 🥳🥳🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much for this video! I needed SPF recommendations suited for our climate. I am in Brissy, so you can imagine the humidity!
I do environmental restoration work so I'm always working outside and always get dirty!! I definitely want something light, but also good with sweat and dirt....
Michelle you look gorgeous and glowy! I enjoyed this video so much, thanks for all the info
Omg an Australian skincare TH-camr - instantly subscribed!!!
The Skin Aqua Moisture Milk (blue bottle) doesn't sting my eyes like the Gel pump does!
@@okashi10 the blue bottle contains silicones (if I’m not wrong) and I reacted badly to that version.
@@Adeline79100 Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. They're constantly reformulating (I use the 2020 version) but it still contains dimethicone. Works great for my super oily skin but I can see how it can be bad for people who are sensitive to that ingredient.
I am looking forward to trying the Melano CC Essence, purchased it recently :)
I love those Rom&nd tints!! I have Jujube too, it’s such a nice colour. 🍬
Totally true!
@@danceawaaay i use hada labo cleansing oil too and it doesn’t work at all! just an oily rubbery mess.
I didn't know Anessa had so many versions I saw one of your reviews a while ago. It is not very accessible price wise.
It has so many formula and colors sometimes it’s only slightly different. That’s why I never used it. It’s so confusing
Half expect to see peach and lily because I think they are the most hyped k beauty brand in the USA
Im obsessed with that bioré sunscreen
I also been using melano cc since 2018 and I LOVE IT. Thank you for telling people about this product. :)
Ohh the cult fave Biore has Uvinul A plus.. and it's fomulation change frequently? haha I should have not thrown out the box then. I have no idea if this has the latest ingredients
*I just used google translate camera, mine contains octinoxate, tinosorb S and uvinul A plus.. oooh. the octinoxate helps these two UV filters to reach the SPF 50 perhaps. I wonder this is what Purito and Klairs will do with their sunscreen to keep the texture nice and the protection photstable
I want a review for apieu and canmake blushes too🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Can confirm the Melano CC takes ages to oxidise in that packaging. And it sinks in nicely, never felt irritating and has a pleasant enough lemon scent.
Unfortunately it didn't have any pigmentation fading effects for me but that might be a personal thing. I've yet to find a vitamin C serum that actually does that for me.
I'm not sure where you get a floral scent from the Biore sunscreen though lol
It's like rubbing hand sanitizer on your face, a massively overpowering cloud of alcohol for a few seconds until it's starting to evaporate.
A much needed video. As being a jbeauty fan for so long my heart is 🥰🥰🥰. Love you
Try out the Belo Sunscreen from the Philippines.
The newer formulation has ruined my skin breaking me out in sever cystic acne and caused acne and burns on lots of other customers except those reviews have been paid to be hidden.
I’m so glad I found another fellow Asian! 😭😊 I really like the products you recommended!! I’m gonna try try them after I finish my Klairs skin care products ☺️
I actually loved the Some By Mi miracle toner for my back and chest acne: it was super gentle and quite effective.
Loved every part. Thanks Michelle
Off to check out the website and of course order something. Thanks Michelle.
This video 😤😤😤 ... I spent all night last night ... Shopping! 🤣 love the website, products, prices and the discount code 😍🥰 ❤️
These products are very popular - thanks for the helpful review! I'm allergic to zinc oxide so I can't use the Anessa Milk but I got the gel version. I also recommend the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gold edition. I find that application is not as blotchy as compared to the regular one.
Allergic to zinc oxide. That is just super unlucky considering how use useful it is in medicine.
I haven’t tried it yet so I’m hoping it’s good 😭
Edit:
I came here to make sure the sunscreen was good and ended up buying the body cleanser, lip tints, and more sunscreen
Lol, I totally relate. Enjoy your orders!

@@Anonymous-od4kl where did you buy it from? there is a big problem with scammers making fake versions of this product
So the Melano Cc is a go? Using Paula’s choice c15 right now and it’s in a dropper🙄😣
Is this vitamin c serum better than the timeless vitamin c serum? I’m unsure which one I should buy.
Biore water essence is my first and so far my favorite sunscreen. Though the smell of alcohol is quite strong but my skin never react badly to it. I do want to try Anessa but it's so expensive so for now I stick to biore
