I have oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. My favorite sunscreen under makeup is the litttlextra rice berry spf 50 sunscreen. It works great even if I am wearing makeup. It’s actually quite brightening over time, I’m not sure what’s in it, but I really like that. I have already used about 3 to 4 bottles of this sunscreen. Additionally, I also apply rice berry face serum under it and it helps keep my skin hydrated.

I wear makeup MOST of the time because I like to. Then I see your new video this morning! THANK YOU for making this video and for all of your hard work and research to bring us lots of suggestions! I appreciate the affordable, budget-friendly options. You're the best!
Thank you Nikki, you are a born teacher and so wonderful at giving the pros and cons. I adore you video’s and I am 75 years old. Must say I am constantly told I look much younger and I love that. Due to great skin care and sunscreen for 30 plus years.
I have dry skin and I second her thoughts on the Mineral Naked Sundays. Since I discovered it it has been a game changer! It feels very thick when it comes out of the tube and you initially think it will not blend in and that there is no way it doesn’t have a white cast, but it is amazing. The trick is to dispense it and rub it in between your fingers for 15 seconds to warm it up and then apply it to your face. It will blend to perfection and leave no white cast! (and least on my light/medium skin tone). I bought it at the Naked Sundays website and then they announced they are now being sold at Target!
Nikki, I can’t thank you enough for this. For the past 2 weeks I have been all over social media trying to find out what sunscreens would work best under makeup but would also moisturize…an all in one step. I have experienced pilling so often in putting the wrong products together, that may have looked OK at first but hours later, UGH! I appreciate so very much how thoughtful and meticulous you are in putting your videos out there. You have very quickly become my favorite go-to for all things makeup. I have been using Biore a lot since you’d recommended this a while ago, and am looking forward to receiving the new products I just ordered. You are the best! And a mind reader maybe🤗
@@marissalyn @britelitely I would recommend the Milani SPF BFF, if you want something you can get here in the states. My skin is super finicky and reactive, and most every chemical spf aggravates my eyes while every mineral/combo spf I've tried aggravates all the skin I apply it to. The Haru Haru one that Nikki recommended is great, as is the Beauty of Joseon (though as she did not mention that one); those are Korean.

@@marissalyn Chemical sunscreens (regular sunscreens) will sting your eyes. Mine are very sensitive and I love Haruharu Wonder sunscreen! It does not irritate my eyes, it is colorless, it comes off easily in a single wash, it is not greasy or too drying. Mineral ones should also be fine for your eyes. However, I find they either give a white cast, or if tinted, the color does not work for me.
Dry skin here found the naked Sundays mineral last year, been using it ever since. My dermatologist recommended using mineral over chemical for more protection and staying power.
@@neuro-mm8in It so good! Just know that it is thick. The trick is to put the amount you want to use on a finger(s) and rub it with your other hand for 15 seconds. Love the Haru Haru. Tip: cut the tube open when you think it is empty, there is actually a lot left in the tube! All of my “face fails” go in my shower to use on my body.
I bought the Naked Sundays Collagen Glow spf 50 sunscreen and I’m IN LOVE! (I tried to attach a photo of myself with it on but couldn’t find a way to do so). I’m 75, of Irish and English heritage, see a derm regularly and regularly have treatments from my years of sun damage and have tried sooooo many sunscreens….totally in love with this one!!!!!🎉❤

I’ve been searching high and low for SPF’s to wear under makeup and literally could not find any I liked, to the point I just opted out altogether 🙈… But this video is a 10/10, thank you for your hard work; love you and your content
I love innisfree sunscreen UV defenses invisible broad spectrum spf 36 sunscreen is very glowy and non white cast. It's from Sephora! is my favorite sun screen under makeup. I use it all the time, and it doesn't peel 😊
I’m using the Biore now but the (I believe)Japanese version that I bought from Amazon Biore store. I have the most sensitive, watery eyes and it gives me no problems. I’ve given up on US chemical sunscreens. They all burn but I’ve tried probably 5+ Asian chemical sunscreens and they are all ok on my skin with no burning eyes. I think it’s just our crappy filters here. Plus the Asian sunscreens can be so much cheaper.
Hi Nikki, love love ❤ this video! Sunscreen is essential to aid in anti-aging as well as cancer prevention, and it is indeed a challenge finding ones that work well under makeup. I'm looking forward to trying the Haraku & Biore ones for sure!
My favorite for glowy make up is the d'Alba Italian White Truffle Waterfull Tone-up Sunscreen. Its so good. I have also used a lot of korean and japanese sunscreens and most of them are great under make up in general.
I have always wanted to try that one. I have other products from that brand and I really love them. I will have to give it a try I was unsure how it would look under makeup.
I ordered the Biore sunblock due to you recommending it in a past video. I also have oily skin and LOVE makeup so I 100% trust your guidance! And you're right , now that I actually care for my skin, it is much less oily.
Glad you put me onto Naked Sundays Thank you!! I'm from Australia and never heard of this brand. I bought this for my daughter too and she loves it. How right you are it's great under makeup and so good to top up with the spray over makeup throughout today. No pilling and it's just great!!
So awesome you are prioritizing this! As a person who’s had more than a few stitches in my face from skin cancer procedures, thank you for doing this work for everyone coming up! ❤️
I bought the Naked Sundays mineral one you recommended and LOVE it! It's really good under makeup and so good for my sensitive skin/eyes. No burning and it feels like a primer. 🥰 thank you!
I was browsing online after I read your comment because I feel the same way. I have never tried, but I noticed there was a Biore SPF spray. I’m going to buy it and see how it works. I love their water essence SPF.
@@elizabethv2595 I have that and I do not like it. I love the lotion, but the sprayer is AWFUL. It doesn't mist well at all and it's very greasy. I wouldn't recommend getting it. You also have to pat a spray in anyway. I recommend watching Michelle of Lab Muffin Beauty. Derm Angelo also shares a ton about sunscreen :) good luck!
I have Melasma, acne prone and very sensitive skin. I have tried so many J and K Beauty Chemical sunscreens (every US Chemical filter burns my skin so I don't bother) and the only one that doesn't make my skin burn is the P.Calm Sunscreen. It performs well under makeup, but is also gentle enough for my sensitive skin.
I bought Glow Screen last year based on one of your videos! Ever since, I wear it daily. It's so amazing especially for a no makeup day. Yes, I find that it can pill too, but I refuse to quit it. I always get so many complexion compliments. Thank you so much!
The Sooper Goop mattifying tinted sunscreen primer is one of my favorites. Alone or under makeup, this is my favorite primer/sunscreen duo! No peeling. Just functional coverage and sunscreen in one, especially for oily textured skin!
You're always so thoroughly prepared and authentic, perfect timing on this one! I have so many options to try and they're all sitting in my carts ready to go. Thanks again Nikki!
If you like Biore, have combo to oily skin, or you are sensitive to alcohol, I can definitely recommend Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel! I am using this for years, and it never disappoints
Thank you for this video! So informative! I have mature skin and it’s so frustrating trying to understand how to use sunscreens under makeup especially with Supergoop! I appreciate the fact that you address “all” skin types too. Really enjoy your videos and learn something new each time, thank you Nikki.💖
I love mineral sunscreens and Isdin have the most elegant one that I’ve try so far👌🏼 also la roche Posay uvmune 400 is also amazing and high UVA protection, I like them to be water resistant 💦 specially during the summer months that’s why I avoid Asian sunscreens but probably during fall / winter time I might give a try to The Haru Haru wonder ☺️
Soooo Agree with Nikki Haru Haru - I’ve gone through an insane amount of tinted and non tinted SS. Nikki’s description of the feel & look of Haru is spot on!
I’m not one who can use chemical sunscreens on my face (due to rosacea, etc.) but the Haruharu Wonder is fantastic! No stinging at ALL. I highly recommend this, especially for the price. I want to try the Paula’s Choice one, but it’s a tad pricey. I wish I could love the SuperGoop but it’s just so yucky-feeling on my skin 😂😭. Love this whole video-thanks for showing what works well under makeup, Nikki! You rock!
Give us the skincare/ skin prep too! I love seeing your mid/high end & drugstore makeup product recommendation videos, would ❤LOVE❤ to see similar videos for skincare. I learn so much from you, you’re like that best friend/sister we all love & trust to shoot straight with us & not steer us wrong. Thanks for being a fun & safe space in a crazy internet world.
Yesssss! I've been waiting for this list. I cannot skip sunscreen, so the hunt for one that wears well under makeup has been years of frustration for me. I'll try all of these! Thank you! 🎉❤😊
I've got oily, mature skin and I continue to swear by Australian Gold mineral sunscreen BB cream. The texture is lovely, it dries matte, and it works as a fantastic primer under most, but not all, of my foundations. (It oxidizes under Dior Matte.)
Thanks to you Nikki I just applied my first full face makeup in 58 years. I go by your beginners guide. You make it look easy! I’ll get better. Thank you @Nikki LA Rose 💄
That is awesome! Go you! I feel the same. I have not worn makeup for years because of my job. Nikki has helped me out so much with product rec and application.
Thank you for this video Nikki!! There is a mineral AND cheminal sunscreen that does work under makeup for me, it's the DRMTLGY untinted. It's my go to, gives that tacky finish, and I have oily skin! There is small amount of white cast so it's ideal under makeup, where your tinted moisturizer or foundation give the last color finish to your skin. I would love to have a companion video to this with best/favorite skin prep products under makeup, including serums, toners, moisturizers, etc. ❤ Thank you again! Love your channel!
I love the Haru Haru Black Rice mineral sunscreen (packing similar to chemical but in purple). My other Fav is Axis-y no stress mineral sunscreen. Both have slight white cast but blends well leaving no white cast on me. I have oily combo. I wear them on top of my skin care. No pilling with makeup either & great as primers. My daughter always uses the Biore sunscreen. I love it too. I always get then all via YesStyle or Amazon.
I love the round lab moisturizing sunscreen. Thanks to u Nikki! I stop using my clinique moisturizer after i discover this round lab. And its very good under make up without using a primer. And thanks also for your tip to prep the skin well before applying make up rather than using primer. I feel like my skin is glowing from within. 😍🤩
This is truly a holy grail video. It fits that category for me because I really love vitamin C before putting on my sunscreen. I have experienced peeling on multiple occasions. So thank you Nikki. You are the MVP.
I’ve been using Korean mineral sunscreens because they help control my oiliness and do not pill at all under make up. So I was surprised when you mentioned that sunscreens like those pill because those do not under my oily type of skin. I think it just depends on what skin type you have, and what works best for you. It’s interesting to see how everyone’s skin reacts different to different formulas. I loved your video and your in-depth review because it puts a different perspective into place. ❤
i second this!! perhaps Nikki can do a sunscreen for non-makeup days! the sunscreens recommended are really good but it still looks highly glowy on oily and textured skin.. probably need some mattifying ones 😂
I was so excited for this video, thank you! Hi SPF sunscreen under makeup for oily skin has been such an elusive category for me. Amazingly, I’ve tried everything except for the Roundlab and Heimish from your list. Love the Haruharu (most satin). Hated the Naked Sunday mineral. It was so thick, shiny and sticky. My favorite so far is Etude House Sunprise (sadly reformulated last year) and now Dr. Jart Mineral. It feels just like the Haruharu chemical and doesn’t leave a white cast. So elegant, absorbs quickly and leaves a satin finish. Hope this is helpful to my fellow oily gals who want high mineral protection!
Thank you soooo much for these reviews 🙏 I now know why I can't find an spf that keeps my make-up on. I've been buying all mineral ones because I thought they were better 🤦♀️
I got the biore and the round lab off your previous recommendations and I LOVE THEM! I really want to try the naked sundays and your approval makes it a must.
@@marilenaargueta5409 I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m guessing the ingredients would probably be similar and at a cheap price it’s probably worth a try 👍
Thank you for this. I am a sunscreen freak having had several rounds of skin cancer from damage done in the 70's when I wsa young and NO ONE was talking about SPF. My Haru Haru is on the way. But you've offered so many wonderful options! I will be referencing this video for years to come.
What a top class sunscreen review... Thank you for makimg sure it works well under make up ... I've watched loads of these and most influencers do not mention that vital information.... Thank you nikki 😊
I have used the Biore because of Nikki for months now and it's the best. Also tried and liked the Paula's choice from a Nikki recommendation. I will be trying the round labs and some others.
I would add to this list another Sunscreen from Naked Sundays - Hydrating Glow Mist SPF 50. It is a perfect product to refresh your make up and add spf protection throughout the day. It gives moisture and doesn’t disrupt your makeup up. Fantastic for all day make up wearers who want to maintain their spf coverage.
@@kimlandess8512 It does have a fragrance, it's not terrible but I wish they would've kept it out of the ingredient list completely. It wasn't a good floral/berry smell to me. However, the daughter (17 yrs old) of one of my friends said that she thought it smelled good, so there is that. On me, it stayed too tacky and I didn't want to finished it, not even on my body. I'm so glad it works for others, because it is $35.00. I never tried it over makeup, so I can't attest to that type of application. I am talking about the light purple mist and not the white bottle for the body. Hope this helps.
Not only is the Birch Juice Sunscreen lovely to wear under makeup, I, while travelling, which I am doing now in Far North Queensland, Australia, reapply it OVER my makeup with my N17 in the early afternoon. It just melts in. 💛
Fantastic suggestions, Nikki! I've just squeezed out my second tube of Ultra Violette Supreme Screen-it's a total game-changer! This gem has a hydrating satin finish that grips on foundation and leaves my skin glowing. I even wear it under makeup for nights out because it makes my skin look fabulous. For context, I've got combo skin with a tendency to dryness, and an oily T-zone.
My fav is Tatcha silk canvas SPF 50. It acts as a primer. The first bottle was a nightmare but they have a new bottle now. When I got my 2ns bottle I immediately put in Amazon air right container. I’ll deff get néw packaging when I need a third ok.
Thank you, Nikki! This is one of your most helpful videos that I am grateful to be able to go back and reference at any time! I would love to see you incorporate your skin care into your makeup looks - I was just thinking the other day that I wonder if you’ve tried any new sunscreens to recommend and I think we all love trying something new. I use your previous recommendation of the Naturium Dew-Glow Moisturizer and love it as a dry skin girlie, but don’t need quite as much glow/hydration in the summer. This was such an informative video and I can’t wait to try these out! Thank you!❤
Thanks for this, Nikki. Super vid. I have been using the CT UV broad spectrum primer and no one in my area (SoFla) has any that doesn’t expire this month. CT should get their act together on that. This is fab. I’m going to try the glowier ones. I mix HL foundation with serum these days as have been on the planet for a while!
Thank you sooooo much! I am so tired of spending $$ on sunscreens that pill! I'm in a very dry climate for the summer, and already have dry, fair skin. I've had two basal cell skin cancers, and a great sunscreen is a MUST for me...and so is makeup! I hope everyone wears sunscreen daily. I appreciate your detailed reviews.❤
Good idea to show those who has no idea what sunscreen to use under makeup and for those new to the sunscreen world BUT I would say there are some that you mentioned that doesn't work for my skin w/makeup. It all depends on how you skin prep, your skin health and of course the type of sunscreen ( meaning for oily skin, dry or combo skin. ) So, even if it works for you Nikki, it doesn't mean this will work for everyone. Thank you though for researching this for us though! You look great as usual!
Thanks to you, I bought the hura hura last month and am really liking it. Also, I just bought the on the recommendation I believe from Angie, the Heimish Artless glow base. Just came the other day so I haven't tried it yet. .it was around $17.00 on Amazon..

I ordered the Biore sunblock due to you recommending it in a past video. I also have oily skin and LOVE makeup so I 100% trust your guidance! And you're right , now that I actually care for my skin, it is much less oily.
Absolutely love the Biore sunscreen!! I think I’ve talked five other people into buying it just by saying how much I love it
Glad you put me onto Naked Sundays Thank you!! I'm from Australia and never heard of this brand. I bought this for my daughter too and she loves it. How right you are it's great under makeup and so good to top up with the spray over makeup throughout today. No pilling and it's just great!!
Tatcha works well under makeup also. The purple bottle and it’s really good for sensitive skin…imho😊
So awesome you are prioritizing this! As a person who’s had more than a few stitches in my face from skin cancer procedures, thank you for doing this work for everyone coming up! ❤️
I have been obsessed with Naked Sundays SPF products! The spray doesn’t even upset mascara or any other makeup on my face. Love the spray
I bought the Naked Sundays mineral one you recommended and LOVE it! It's really good under makeup and so good for my sensitive skin/eyes. No burning and it feels like a primer. 🥰 thank you!
Thankyou Nikki for this video,I can finally find a sunscreen that is good for underneath my makeup.
Nikki I’d love to know what SPF you use throughout the day OVER makeup since you should be reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours❤ please share
Sun bum makes a face spray on one that has glowy setting spray vibes. - not thoroughly tested though
Labmuffinbeauty has a great recent video about this. I saw it on Instagram, but she uploads here too.
Naked Sundays makes a great spray for touch up. Doesn’t disrupt. I believe Nikki has says she does reapply.
Trader Joe facial sunscreen is absolutely fantastic under makeup!
Dr. Ceuracle sunscreen is Amazing with or without makeup and also healthy skin lab protect tinted is GORGEOUS with or without makeup ❤
Please do a review if you agree
I have combo leaning oily (even more so in the hotter months). I absolutely love the Biore Aqua UV alone and under makeup 10/10
Would love to know the sunscreens that didn't make the cut and why. Thanks!
I have an entire basket filled :/ I’ll share those soon!
i bought this Biore aqua UV watery essence on your recommendation before and its so good nikki😍
It's so good!! Glad it worked for you!
Nikki, I use the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen! I find that it plays well with makeup!
Thank you! 🎉❤😊
I'm obsessed with both of Naturium 's sunscreen. SPF 50 and wow they are amazing!
I've got oily, mature skin and I continue to swear by Australian Gold mineral sunscreen BB cream. The texture is lovely, it dries matte, and it works as a fantastic primer under most, but not all, of my foundations. (It oxidizes under Dior Matte.)
I agree this one is lovely. I gave mine to my daughter who lives in a humid climate and has combo skin. It was not my choice for my very dry skin
I react to this one, unfortunately. Feels itchy and heavy. I love that its matte and blends in so easily though.
Thanks to you Nikki I just applied my first full face makeup in 58 years. I go by your beginners guide. You make it look easy! I’ll get better. Thank you @Nikki LA Rose 💄
PS I’m 58 years old.
Thank you again!
I love the Paula’s Choice SPF! It really is lightweight! Sephora sells a mini one for $15 which is what I bought to try. Now I’m on my 2nd tube!
Btw would appreciate video with all the skin prep 🤩 I prefer longer videos
i second this!! perhaps Nikki can do a sunscreen for non-makeup days! the sunscreens recommended are really good but it still looks highly glowy on oily and textured skin.. probably need some mattifying ones 😂
me too ✋
Same! 😁
Yes 💯- all skincare and sunscreen please ❤❤❤
YES!!!! I really need to know how to prep my skin before makeup in the summer time!
YOU. ARE. THE. BEST!!! Thank you so much for all of your hard work to put these wonderful videos together for us!!
Thank you soooo much for these reviews 🙏 I now know why I can't find an spf that keeps my make-up on. I've been buying all mineral ones because I thought they were better 🤦♀️
The Beauty of Joseon sunscreen is my absolute favorite SPF ever - it makes my skin look amazing and hydrated, and works so well under makeup!
I have 3 of the sunscreens you showed.
Biore is the best for me because I have combination skin.
Thanks, love❤❤❤❤❤❤
I got the biore and the round lab off your previous recommendations and I LOVE THEM! I really want to try the naked sundays and your approval makes it a must.
Hi Nikki, great video, I just wanted to share that Biore also have an Aqua Rich Protect mist and that Roundlabs is also available in a stick.
Is the mist good for oily skin sunscreen reapplication?
@@marilenaargueta5409 I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m guessing the ingredients would probably be similar and at a cheap price it’s probably worth a try 👍
I'm absolutely loving Biore ❤️ it's consumed nicely into my dry skin without leaving it dehydrated. thanks Nikki
Just ordered the Naked Sundays mineral sunscreen. Thank you for this in-depth vid on sunscreens.
Thanks! Biojuve is my new fave. As a middle aged woman, this creates a beautiful glow under makeup. Might be too hydrating for younger skin.
Late to the conversation but another Korean sunscreen I have loved is by Numbuzin. So light and great under makeup
I love the Heimish sunscreen. It's gorgeous and helps me with my dry skin, I also love the Espoir water sunscreen
I have used the Biore because of Nikki for months now and it's the best. Also tried and liked the Paula's choice from a Nikki recommendation. I will be trying the round labs and some others.
Thanks for the video - I have a few sunscreens I change between as I have lupus and always am wearing one :)
I also have Lupus and love the Biore Nikki recommended but I also love the Misha Sun Milk. Stay healthy 😊🙏
Thank you so much, Nikki. Been learning a lot from you as I also have combi-oily skin. 🥰
I would prefer a longer video with skin prep. Also I love Naked Sundays sunscreen.
Thank you for recommending this, I will get it immediately!
Does it smell?
@@kimlandess8512 it has very light fragrance, I typically avoid products with fragrance, this is smells very pleasant and doesn’t linger.
I headed straight to the Naked Sundays' website, got a bundle of the two spf formulas Nikki mentioned PLUS a brush!! Score!!🤣
Thank you for making this video. Nobody talks about which sunscreen is best under makeup. Very useful information.
It’s literally like you read my mind! Thank you for this video!
Thank you!❤
This is the most important video on youtube… I love Korean spf for oily skin so this is literally a perfect video!
I would LOVE a video on sunscreens you recommend for AFTER makeup application. 🤞
I love the Beauty of Joseon Sun Serum. Works as a primer.
I have the haruharu thanks to you and you are right. It’s fantastic!
The House of Hur sunscreen would definitely make the list! It’s a beautiful formula that’s not fussy
Instant like before even watching. This is the content we needed
Do glad to hear that!!
And thank you!!!
