- From the Lionel Store we have what I think is an Uncatalogued Southern Pacific Beer car that was on sale for $85.00. The sale price has since been removed and the car is selling for the regular price of $109.00. Available in two road numbers so please keep an eye on the website and look for the price to drop again. Cool Boxcars Mark, They're HUGE! 'mI so used to seeing the old Lionel boxcars. It's weird to see some that are as big as passenger cars.

I have 8 beer cars and really like them. My favorite 4 are the two white Coors Light with red trucks and the the two Denver Rio Grande. The other 4 are two Santa Fe and two Burlington Northern. Real good video like always 👍🏻👍🏻

Nice beer car Mark. Lionel made beer billboard reefer cars back during the MPC era. Certainly building up quite a nice Southern Pacific fleet. Like your tunnel motor as well. Did you know Rio Grande purchased Southern Pacific in 1988?

@@dantiel4179 I’m using iMovie on my phone for the most part. Some times I use movie maker on my computer but they all seem to take a little practice getting used to. There are some good videos on TH-cam demonstrating various methods and formats.👍🏻

The two bay hoppers from Menards really changed my mine on what freight cars to buy. They shouldn't be that hard to like no matter the price.

They do have sale prices occasionally like the $85.00 Instead of $109.00 I paid for this car. Unfortunately the sale price ended and it’s back to full price. Usually you get a discount from most hobby shops. You are very welcome 🤗 👍🏻

Thanks for watching 😊 Lionel catalogs and calls them Beer Cars on the packaging. I guess they could be used for any product requiring a refer. These days you have to be over 21 to purchase train cars with alcoholic beverage advertising on them much like when they banned cigarette advertising years ago. Great question 👍🏻 Thanks.!

Lionel saw a car being painted for Budweiser and said they would never promote something harmful to children. He would have had a fit with the cigarette freight cars. Weaver made cars here in the USA in Pennsylvania. Now it's China or Vietnam. MPC was made in America. Cars for the price of locomotives.😢
I never heard that Frank. Not Surprised about the Cigarette cars though. When I purchased my Coors reefer a few years ago I had to confirm I was over 21 and that surprised me. Scale rolling stock is not cheap that's for sure. Great comment.! Thanks😊

Several retail online model train supply houses that I have purchased from in the past 8 years have a " disclaimer / declaration page " that the purchaser must acknowledge that indeed they are over the age of 21, when purchasing an Alcoholic Beverage reefer or Boxcar . Matter of fact, there are once again, several tobacco manufacturer Reefers or Boxcars once again being manufactured by various model train companies [ mainly liveries from the late 19th Century or early 20th Century ] style, that also need that purchaser declaration filled out before certain Hobby shops will sell it to you. 🍷🍸🍺🚂📦

Thanks Richard. My SP rolling stock is from Mr Muffins Trains, America’s Best Trains and Hobbies in Itasca and The Beer Car is from the Lionel Store. I’m taking care of some personal issues so I should be back in the train room soon.😊
