    So… our printer was doomed. There was probably no hope. But my 15 year old and I spent the day with this video, dissecting and reassembling our printer based on this awesome video. So in the end, we learned a lot. We got all the electrical connections back again but there was some alignment issue. So we just got a new error instead of the one we had been seeing. But at least we did what we could. This video made it easy to retrace our steps. Ultimately, we learned about the flow of ink and how it collects over time. Ewwwww…. What a mess. But we now know the printer wasn’t lying about the absorber being full.

    13:43 Thanks for sharing how to take a part this printer. I curious, what the blue cable for? (at bottom left) . Is it for cover sensor?

      Thank you. I'm not sure. It most likely is the cover sensor wire.

    thanks for posting this. I took ming apart and when I reassembled it I get a support code 1250. Paper output tray is closed. Open the paper output tray. I didn't take out the output tray because I saw how you broke yours. I wanted to avoid that. I still got the code. I'm wondering. is there a work around? do you know where the switch is for that?

    Hi, my printer has a problem with the cap sensor. A message keeps appearing saying to close the lid.
    Would you know where the sensor of the lid is to check if it is working correctly?
    Thanks for the video.

      Hi. It should be on the left side if you are looking at the printer. It may have gotten stuck. Tap on the printer a bit and it may go back to normal.

    Great video!!!
    Any suggestions on how to remedy the dreaded 1403 printhead error? (Have carried out all the usual printhead removal, clean and ink cartridge replacement)

    • @303electronics
      @303electronics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Since you have done cleaning, etc, I can only think of a connection error. Try cleaning the contact on the back of the printhead.

    Great Video. I Yesterday I took apart an MG6620. Now I need help to identify where a part that just fell from the inside is connected. Looks like a black spacer 5/8 x 3/8 x 3/16, hollow in the center, and wrapped on the outside with some sort of metal filaments tape. Is it some type of coil? Anybody can tell me where it goes? Thanks

    I have a question. Do you have any suggestions for replacing one sensor from the carage unit?

    • @303electronics
      @303electronics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Those sensors are very hard to replace and usually a carriage unit needs replacing. Hard to find one.

  • @KarenSaephanh

    Is there a way to not take the control panel off to replace the carriage unit, or is it inevitable? Like I can take the entire top piece off, without being too invasive.

    I have a new printer in the box which I am going to keep for ten years without using. Then when I take it out of the box and print one page and get an error message and it stops working at least i can say "That lasted well."

    Hello, my Pixma MG5650 has broken the scanner glass window. I removed all broken glass pieces but the regular start booting via On button leads to error 5011, just after scanner was tried to move shortly from starting position. Where is problem now?

    My printer won't stay on when I put power to it... Help

    • @303electronics
      @303electronics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There may be aconnection error to the power supply. It is accessible from the bottom of the pritner. Another thing, a power button may beeslightly broken and will cause printer to turn off even if a fly came on the button. (haha). Just from a light touch. Clean around it and push it a few times to make sure it clicks and doesnt stick. Also, see if you can unplug the printer and manually move the ink cartridge to the center and remove the printhead. After you removed it, try restarting thepirinter. If printer turns on fince and asks for the printhead, make sure the contacts area of the printhead is dry and clean. That may be causing the printer to turn off.

    My printer is printer blank pages. Any suggestions?

    • @303electronics
      @303electronics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. First, check cartridges. Sometimes if printer is not used for a while, cartridge ink exit ports dry up. Add a couple drops of water on the exit port hole on the bottom of a black or color cartridges. Also, manual cleaning of printhead doe the trick. Remove printhead and soak the bottom of printhead in a window cleaner solution mixed with hot water 50/50 for 30-60 minutes and up to 8 hours if needed and that will help dissolve dry ink gunk in the nozzles. Thank you for watching and good luck with your printer repair.

    Horrible design! I have one and they could have made the inc absorber accessible. Instead, you can take the power interface off with 2 clips. Go to hell Canon!

      You can buy the code online to reset the ink absorber. If you replace the absorber, you still need to get it reset. I wouldn't even bother replacing it.

      Completely true! But a new one costs $50 per month via the forced up on ink buying program. So it is well worth repairing this one.
