    It's amazing how accurate the scenery is... I live in Innsbruck so I know how the area around the airport looks in real life and it's just so great to see the same buildings in the game.

    I am excited for the day all of the simulators combine into one game. I would love to be able to farm goods, transport them to market and make bio diesel for the trucks using silage. And the consequences of not making enough silage could then impact the price of fuel for said trucks. I would love the possibility of people playing in other roles to be passengers on a train or plane heading to their next job in that simulator somewhere in the expanse of the entire world.
    There could be a part of the simulator where people are building a city using construction equipment and as they build, new things pop up in the city such as fuel stations, farmers markets, airports, train stations, highways, subways and these all lead to other cities and towns. And even after playing a sim you could go home or to a store and buy food and other needs or wants for your characters house. Later in the sim as everything started to advance you could get into the possibility of space travel. The game itself could be so immersive that if you decided after awhile you didn't want to own your truck company, you could sell it and buy land to farm or build a store on and become the next big supermarket chain.
    I hope for a sim where everyone has the option to work together or alone but, their actions impact the world as a whole on every level from financial to disasters that could occur. For example you could get into a business where you build planes and if you decide to be cheap with your materials, whoever flies that plane crashes due to your greediness and this could impact you because people could decide that you don't make good airplanes and not buy your product. The end result would be you lose your business. That is the end game for all sims, it would be the holy grail of sim games.
    "Edit" To add to this, if there was a massive disagreement or dislike of some person there could also be a war using tanks, warships, and everything else. I wouldn't really want a war in a sim where everyone is working together but if you wanted a fully immersive sim game you would need that bit of the sim to do that.

    Nice video... Unfortunately, the de-icing sequence is by far not realistic at all. I'm head of de-icing for the international airport of my country, and I can tell you, if I see people de-icing that way, I kick them out of operation, and they go back to learning again. De-icing operations never happen from the back of the wing... By doing like that, you do not insure the leading edge of the wing to be free of ice. By positionning parallel to the wing, and in front of it, you can spray the wing and making sure the leading edge is clean. Then you can rotate over the wing and make sure the slats, flaps, mobile parts, as well as ice / snow (just pick, there is a ton of possibilities) are removed and clean.

    Hi Squirrel. Nice video. Just started using the shared cockpit with my son - we love it.
    The reason for the take off issue was the incorrect entry of the thrust reduction altitude in the performance take off page. With the elevation of MUN at 1500ft the thrust reduction should have been at 2500 or 3000 ft depending on your SOP - I think you entered 1500ft which meant the aircraft thought you were already at the thrust reduction altitude during the take off run - therefore flex temp was not available for selection - TOGA being the only option. With only 4 ton of fuel and 45 pax, the aircraft will accelerate VERY quickly without pitching up much. Hope this helps and keep the videos coming. All the best.

    Type I fluid is used to de-ice the plane in icing conditions. Type IV (Type II aswell) is used in conjunction with type I when there is precipitation and it stops the critical surfaces from re-freezing over. It is striped from the plane at 100 knots or greater so for planes that have a rotation speed of less than 100 knots type III fluid is used

      Sideways Forever Hi! There are a few add ons that include failiures that can be trigerred by you (this aircraft is not one of them). Also some of these add ons support random failiures and if you turn those on then things can fail unexpectedly.

    You are wondering about the speed shortly after takeoff? You are climbing less then 10 degress after lifting off...usually you do like 18 degrees, gear up, then reduce speed to CLB and put the nose down to 10. Flaps 0 when passing round about 180.

    You can't turn probe heat off completely as the data it provides is crucial for the Airbus flight control laws. These protect the aircraft from excessive control movements. When aircraft data is lost the computers can't do their job and switch to alternate or direct law which doesn't offer the same protection. Great video, keep them coming! :-)

    Good job guys! Enjoyed the flight. Amenities were good...iced coffee always is good!

  • @WirFliegen
    @WirFliegen 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    probe/window heat "AUTO ON" is like off, because of the lightsoff philosophy of airbus. In AUTO, heating system starts when the eiu (engine interface unit) tells the system that at least one engine is on, or the lgciu (landing gear control and interface unit) tells the eiu that the aircraft is in flight. In manual ON you overide these logic and the system will heat. Static port and AOA sensor in full power, pitot and windows in half power (ground mode) exept TAT (not powered on ground)

    +Squirrel I actually live here and Matt was right. You have to make a Special Training to be able to land there, otherwise you are not allowed to land in Innsbruck. And yes the Approach is extremely beautiful but sometimes can be very scary because of strong winds here in the vally. :D

  • @TijmenvGroezen
    @TijmenvGroezen 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    you need to try a approach on kai tak airport in hongkong (old airport). I once did it in a real boeing simulator it very tricky but fun. (especially at night).

  • @lovebirdmic
    @lovebirdmic 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why don't they make hangar like structures that the plane is taxi'd into and then a similar system to a fire sprinkler system is used to put de-ice on the plane? I assume I'm not the first one to think of this, so I'm wondering if it's but cost or if there are health factors or something.

  • @SenorCrazylegs
    @SenorCrazylegs 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't know why flex didn't set without seeing the fm, but the acceleration was mostly due to your high power setting, late rotate, and then a low nose attitude vs the flight directors. You're lightweight as well, given the t/o fuel of about 3.5 tons, which is bound to make things happen a lot quicker.

    I think the tray thing was misconstrued as a food related comment when it was just Squirrel being mildly OCT (obsessive compulsive tidiness). That sim is looking gorgeous, guessing its V3? Lovely landing!

    What version of Prepard 3D is this?
    Bought Aerosoft A320 and using P3D 4. Doesn't work... Don't do the same mistake.
    Aerosoft GMBh is saying that an upgrade to P3D 4 is on the way.

    squirrel I noticed a lack of ATC (Air Traffic Control) chatter i.e. Ground Control taxi permission, Tower Control take-off permission, etc.. Was that by choice or is ATC more or less obsolete? With computerized everything and satellite navigation, I would not be surprised if controllers were more for emergency monitoring. Excellent vid!!!! Thanks for posting!

    I'm sorry if I have asked this before, but, What version of P3D do you have? I'm opting to buy it mainly for better graphics and enhanced experience. So, which one should I buy? (Not interested in military aviation :P )

    +Squirrel When using a shared cockpit do both people have to have the same plane or is it just the host that has to have it? And do you just use the P3D multiplayer cockpit sharing?
