Im 67 1/2 YO and a retired Union Pipe fitter. My 2012 CTS-V was my retirement gift (2017) to me for 44 years as a fitter. Its a OBM Coupe, because 4 doors are for old people and also its a 6 speed manual, because automatics are for old people! Per Cadillac I have one of 9 built in 2012. I call it it the V -Rocket, my brother calls it Master Blaster! This car is nothing but fun and that is what being young is all about.
The Cadillac CTS-V engine is an LSA 6.2 liter V-8, shared with the 5th generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The C6 Corvette ZR1 did not have the LSA; it had the 6.2 liter LS9 V-8
rsmith137...I also own a 2014 CTSV-COUPE Tricoat white and yes I agree an awesome car. I've had about $8,000 of upgrades to my engine and so far no Vette has been able to keep up...lol
I don't understand any of the dislikes on this video. This review is probably the best/most in depth of a V coupe I've seen on TH-cam thus far. I want one now!!!
I'v owned a 2011 CTS-V sedan for about 2.5 years now. I'ts an amazing car. I have a cold air intake and Corsa exhaust. Other than that it's stock. Love the supercharger whine. Thanks for the video. I am looking forward to getting a C8 Corvette in a couple of years.
@@Xiajdufj 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds. mid 12 second 1/4 mile. Back in the day it had the fastest time around the nuremberg track for a production sedan. So yeah, it's fast, but there are definitely faster newer cars produced now.
I have one and The motor is not from the Z06 The engine is out of the ZR1 the only difference between the two is the supercharger, the cts v has the 1.9 and the ZR1 has a 2.1
That’s not true wrong c6 generation zr1 came with a LS9, the LSA that comes in this cts v also comes in the gen 5 ZL1 camaro. Yes the LS9 from the corvette has a bigger blower but it’s engine block has a totally different construction, where as the LSA is basically just a supercharged LS3
@@JSAUC3 have u bought it ? I have this offer 25k miles 2011 coupe premium. Still debating on buying it I don’t wanna keep up with The maintenance 24/7
great car especially with manual. Why do you think it needs more heat extraction when it's not overheating. If isn't overheating, then the GM engineers and R&D were successful.
All of these points are relaxant. The heat soak in particular is what I should’ve specified I was referring too. But yes, otherwise very responsive and reliable!
Nice video! Your glamour shots at the beginning were great! You have a good intuition with styles that took me MONTHS to get and here you are on your third video. Subbed let's collab on a video!
duelsnorkel ... I was told it was the Z06 motor. The only difference was the supercharger size. Cadillac did this only to prevent the CTSV from outrunning the Z06 Vette. I stand corrected if I'm wrong.
The LSA motor was based off the the LS9 which is the engine that comes in the ZR1. The supercharger is the same minus the lid on the CTSV and the Zl1 though.

MANUALS ARE MORE FUN,
UNTIL YOU RACE THAT OLD GUY IN A AUTO AND GET SAD.
Awesome
Good for you! It sounds like you really earned it! Enjoy!
Hope your still enjoying it
Hell yea brother I’m from local 520 out of Harrisburg Pennsylvania how bout yourself🎉

8 years later its still beautiful. What a beast of a car.
I couldn’t agree more!
Kras 4 9**
8 years later mine is pushing 800hp
A timeless design.
@@legojuggalo1483 what mods/upgrades have you done? I had a 09 and now I regret selling it. Dumb move on my part.
I bought my 2011 4 years ago. 1 Owner and 25,000 miles. Best car I ever ever ever owed.
I have a 2014 coupe. Its truly an amazing machine.
They seriously are. And they just keep pulling!

s w that’s hilarious!
Letucces Satan I’d like to know too.
rssmith137....I also own a tri-coat white 2014 CTSV coupe,, ran 3-vettes, outran all 3 vettes. I also have about $8,000 in upgrades. It will fly.

The engine is from the ZR1 not the Zo6. Big size difference
Still wrong c6 generation zr1 came with a LS9, the LSA that comes in this cts v also comes in the gen 5 ZL1 camaro

Andrew Mason----was the ZR1 motor an optional motor you could order? My 2014 Coupe has the Z06 motor.
s w nope that’s the way they come just the ZR1 motor has titanium internally and the larger supercharger

I just bought this exact car, Love It!
Nice i actually ran one the other day they sound really nice.
how is it Annie? im debating buying a 2011 coupe this week

Its 2021 and im from the uk but i gota say its still an awsome looking car to this day
This was super informative and fun to watch.
I have a 2011 white diamond coupe. 950 to the wheel and 1200 on nitrous.
That’s amazing! Probably never gets old!
great car especially with manual. Why do you think it needs more heat extraction when it's not overheating. If isn't overheating, then the GM engineers and R&D were successful.
Heat soak! The supercharger gets very hot in the middle of summer and robs HP. Mine is a 2012 coupe, feels like 150 more hp in the winter.
All of these points are relaxant. The heat soak in particular is what I should’ve specified I was referring too. But yes, otherwise very responsive and reliable!
The one and only luxury US Muscle in car history
They definitely need to invest in more like this one!
This is my exact dream car.. color yr n everything
I literally love my v and i just got it a month ago
It’s GORGEOUS
thanks for the info...nice job
These cars are so well balanced
How u think about Cadillac 2015 cts 2.0
It's called adaptive lighting.
What size tires are on this car
I own one :)
LUCKY :)
That’s an honor!
Tracy birds of a feather!

No! Saabkyle04 is the best doing reviews on any automobile.
Nice
That motor didn't come out of the z06
Wheels are 9” front 10” rear
Brakes are vented from the front facia.
Engine is not from the Z06 it’s an LSA.
duelsnorkel ... I was told it was the Z06 motor. The only difference was the supercharger size. Cadillac did this only to prevent the CTSV from outrunning the Z06 Vette. I stand corrected if I'm wrong.
s w it’s the supercharged from the 5th gen zl1 and they’re not the exact same but very very similar. the z06 from this year was all motor.
It is a LSA
Some one wants to trade my covetable 350z for a this car 2011
Both automatic
He has lower miles too
That would be a great deal for you!
zl1 not zr1.....do research before you do reviews lol.. side note the backseat in the coupe is useless...
The LSA motor was based off the the LS9 which is the engine that comes in the ZR1. The supercharger is the same minus the lid on the CTSV and the Zl1 though.
All beautiful and relative cars. Take your pick lol
Hypersh0t...the back seat is fine, the only issue is getting in the back seat, once there it's completely okay. I own a 2014 CTSV-COUPE.
Try using something other than a potato to do a car review and actually research a car before doing a review... audio cutting in and out........
