  • Here's a simple one that works with any four identical coins. If you want to try to figure it out first, get ready to pause it at 20 seconds in. I would love to know if anyone has another method or even a similar puzzle.

I think I found the end of the internet.

I kind of get that vibe, too, and I'm the one who posted this video! Are we done with the internet now? Can we start another game? I've been thinking about trying Reality-it's supposed to be fun in a retro kind of way.

For this to be a really good puzzle you would have to be able to explain in simple terms why you end up with a straight line.

      Great idea! Here it is:
At 0:45 (what should really be the start of the puzzle), the center points of the three identical coins touching each other form an equilateral triangle (all angles equal to 60 degrees, since the interior angles of a triangle always add up to 180 degrees). At :052, we’ve got two equilateral triangles back-to-back, creating an outside angle of 120 degrees (60 + 60). Moving one of the coins to the other side (0:58), adds another 60 degrees, leading to the 180-degree straight line.

@@BruceHurley When I first watched the video and you said "push these four together so they form a perfect square" I was thinking that had to be wrong because how could you guarantee that was a square so I was about to post that comment but I read down a few comments and saw that someone had already pointed that out.

    first step is unnecessary

Yes! I noticed that upon watching here for the first time, but didn't feel like re-filming. I think I did it that way because that's how I originally discovered it and I filmed this five minutes later. Such a simple process, but not necessarily intuitive for most people. Thanks for your comment!

    Way too many steps.
1- Put the coins into a triangle adding the 4th creating a nest of 4 that's offset.
2- Hold the coins in place but move the coin that was at the top of the original triangle down to the 2 below and touching the remaining one above.
    Done - 2 steps. Time:45 seconds

You're absolutely right! This was pointed out and acknowledged in an earlier comment (check it out-there's only a few). I didn't put a lot of thought into it before filming. I never imagined I would get over 20 views! Thanks for the comment!
