  • Dreamworld is a large theme park in Gold Coast, Australia. This park has a strong case as the most complete in the region. It is the most ride-heavy park while also featuring an underrated zoo and a full-fledged water park in WhiteWater World. Find out why you should visit this park in this review!

    Back in the day the park felt like a mini Disneyland: charming, well themed and made with love. Then it got sold, and slowly turned into a Six Flags. Little to no theming, more thrill rides and felt more corporate. Then it started to get run down, which led to the accident and multiple closed rides.
    Now with the new management it's slowly but surely starting to create a new identity. Can't identify it yet, but I think it has a bright future. You can tell they care about the park. You even often see the CEO walking around, checking on things. Has a solid chance at beating Movie World for the best Aus park next year once the new Coaster and themed area opens! Great review.

      I think it will be hard for them to top Movie World for what I want in a park, but I'm glad the park is on the right track.

    I went to Dreamworld over a dozen times last year, even on public holidays Steel Taipan and most other attraction were almost a walk on for me. This park just doesn't get the crowds that the village corp parks get. Oh and White Water World is absolutely brilliant, if you ever find yourself in Australia again I would highly recommend. Every slide is always a walk on, the the Supertube Hydrocoaster is amazing!

      Dreamworld was the most well rounded park in Australia and had something for everyone however following the rapids tragedy the park went into a decline and closed approximately 15 rides and attractions. Hopefully they can turn things around, they seem to be moving in the right direction however they need to keep investing in new attractions. The park needs a couple of dark rides and one of the new launched Intamin log flumes with some heavy theming would be great.

    I've heard this park is polarizing, like some say it is incomplete, but I want to see for myself. (Spoiler Alert: I will because I am going to Australia from July 26 to August 15 to see the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) in Launceston, Tasmania on 8/8/2024. I will go sandboarding in Sydney on 8/4/2024 and I will go through the parks of Gold Coast, Sydney, and Melbourne as well as do elevators, like the Q1 observation deck in Gold Coast. For Melbourne, I hope the weather cooperates because 8/11 & 8/12 are my important days because it will be during off peak days in the winter and though many rides will be under construction, the 2nd half of 2024 is the best time to visit Australia for the aurora australis because it will be strongest that time until the 1st half of 2025.

      tower of terror 2 couldn't have stayed. they ran out of spare parts and the original manufacture doesn't make new parts. the coaster was also over 25 years old which is very old for a prototype. I miss it too but it was either run it till it gives up or. give it a proper send off with last rides. buzzsaw should have probably stayed but got moved to the back but it was not popular and was never open due to being unreliable

    This park definitely looks like it's worth a visit but it also doesn't look like now is the best time to visit. With so many rides to taken out, thos park definitely has a lot of gaps to fill. Maybe something from B&M would be a good addition for the future. I can't believe that Australia doesn't even have just one B&M ride.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  ปีที่แล้ว

      The new family coaster coming should be a great addition for them. While they've lost some thrill coasters, Steel Taipan is better than the two they lost.

      Airtime thrills format:
      They have steel taipan, which is their standout. It has a launch, the spinning, and the multilooper along with gold coaster. Escape coaster is something under the track and a family coaster, along with motocoaster and the ones coming up in the new themed area. No wooden coaster, but more importantly, no airtime. They have a ton of options. They could go for a small gravity group like Kentucky flyer or a small gci like the upcoming zambezi zinger. If they want to go for something big, they could go for B&m hyper and fill a national gap. Australia doesn't have a B&m, and they don't have any airtime machine that's more gradual and nice with floater, compared to DC Rivals which has intense ejector. They could as well go for other options, like a chance hyper gtx, a raptor, an intamin megacoaster, but that one is a bit too similar to DC rivals.
