    For someone who visited in late July, the off season in Australia due to scheduling and seeing the Southern Lights in Launceston, Tasmania in August, while some rides were closed, I was able to do Sea World and Warner Bros Movie World in 3 hours and both parks opened at 10 and the rides were open right with the park from my experience.

    They also need more dark Rides. You forgot to mention Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster because i guess they closed it to be refurbished. It was an amazing dark ride indoor coaster and they really need to do a good job refurbishing it and reopening it. As good as the Mini-cars attraction is, most Australian fans of the park miss the Looney Tunes River Ride that previously occupied the space, it was extremely well themed and had great animatronics. The park really should invest in a good Bugs Bunny ride again.
    Also frankly Wild West Falls needs new ride queue video, Wild Wild West is just too old a movie.

      It’s Movie World’s best ride imo! You have to come back when it reopens 😂. I recommend looking into the old crowd favourite Bermuda Triangle dark ride from Sea World, it was praised by Disney Imagineers for what the team were able to achieve on a modest budget of $10 million. It was so much fun!

    Village roadshow have really been bad with their parks lately. They used to be WAY cheaper and a lot more casual which just made the parks much more enjoyable since you really didn't have anything to worry about other than the short hours. But as of late they have been greedy and unaccommodating. I get that it is hard especially with how bad covid was for them, hopefully they can sort their shit out and get back on track to making the parks the best they can possibly be.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Did the parks get busier after covid? I've heard they can get super long lines in holiday periods.

    • @seugoi7460
      @seugoi7460 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CanobieCoaster Yeah the parks definitely at least seem busier since covid and the issues I have with the parks all surfaced around covid so that doesn't help. It feels like village roadshow put all these things into practice to help with the covid situation which were understandable even if they hindered the park experience. But now that covid is behind us instead of reevaluating their methods they just doubled down on them and shot themselves in the foot especially since people won't really take the covid excuse anymore and when you combine that with the crowds returning it puts movie world in the worst state I think it's ever been at in terms of how enjoyable it is to be there and sea world is lucky the new atlantis precinct is so amazing otherwise it would be in the gutter too. I've seen DC Rivals with a 3+ hour line at some points but holidays have always been like that I think the lines just move slower since covid and the park isn't fit to accommodate the amount of people they let in on holidays. Hopefully with the new wizard of oz area they can fix some of their issues and it helps to spread out the crowd because as is I find myself rarely if ever going to movieworld when I used to go at least once a week.

    • @weirdthings9583
      @weirdthings9583 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CanobieCoasterThe park having bad operations is an understatement, when running DC rivals with 2 trains the second train will ALWAYS stack for at least 1-2 minutes. Green lantern’s dispatch’s are also super slow for the amount of trains they operate. I also think the fast track system is so stupid with only 1 fast track for each ride for au$160 when all rides are open. And the park should not be investing in such a massive hotel if they can’t keep lines under 2 hours during the holiday seasons(they can’t). From what I’ve heard the hotel is costing above au $300 million however I’m not sure if this is true, but if it is they should be inventing in operations and a major expansion rather than a god dam hotel, queues will prob increase to 3 hours with this hotel

    • @weirdthings9583

      Not exactly

    • @colliric
      @colliric ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CanobieCoaster It did get an acclaimed reception. Rollercoasters were rare in Australia at the time, and the Lethal Weapon Queue and station were just straight up extremely well themed. Mel Gibson was also just straight up popular as hell in Australia at the time given he's Aussie by childhood.
      You entered the ride's area through a "Chinatown Arch" complete with fake Chinese shopfronts, then there was originally a pre-show and The Queue & Station itself was themed to an LA junkyard with guard dogs growling and police sirens over the loudspeakers. It was awesome. The theming was mostly based on Lethal Weapon 3.
      Ride, well that was rough headbanger as usual for those coasters but still enjoyable for what it was.
      Shame most videos of the ride don't show the Entry, Queue and Station. You'd see how well themed they were.

    They are their own worst enemy. The fact that they don't offer unlimited express anymore means no one in their right mind will buy it for a one shot on all rides. it's ridiculous. So greedy and WILL work against them because people will just use their brains and use the virtual queue. I would have had issues paying THAT much for unlimited, but I HAVE done it in the past when they offered it and I was on my own and I maxxed out my day, so at the end of the day I did say it was worth it (was a bit cheaper then too). I will not do it for one shots. If I could convert all rides to the two I want to marathon, I would consider it. But as it stands it's flat out outrageous, and up to $40 for a single shot. I have a real issue with greed and I will never, ever give in to it. It's different getting something fair in return but another thing entirely when it's just pure greed. So they can stick it!
    Did you know DC Rivals was $10 for back row at opening? And the Australian government claims it's been like 5% inflation country wide since Covid? Yet it's the same issue at our supermarkets. Double or more in some cases. I would accept $15 and do three rides for $45 in that case. But I won't even ever do it again for $25 a pop. Greed. I can't abide it, it sickens me. I would never run a theme park this way, it would always be run in a way that was fair and reasonable to every soul.
    I am going to have to do it for leviathan as waiting 2 hours will drive me insane, but that will be a one off for the back row, and a one off for the reverse row, so, like $65 LOL, but I guess I will only ride it twice, cause I am not going to put up with 2 hour queue lines for one ride. At least I will get to enjoy it twice in the best seats in a reasonable time frame, so I'll look at it as a once off and not go out for the night instead, but I will NEVER do it again after the first visit. Ever.
    Australia's theme park system is broken
    1) Even in peak summer they close early on weekends
    2) Operations are terrible but they don't even an offer an unlimited paid option anymore
    3) One train happens often, even in busy days
    4) No seat choice unless you go out of your way and they CAN decline and HAVE declined. After a long wait sometimes, that is more than annoying. I really don't have a great time when I visit our parks cause of how bad the operations are, and that's the truth.
    I am glad you had a good time Mike, truly, and I couldn't think of a cooler way to spend your honeymoon and I am really happy for you guys. But this is why I go to the US. Even your worst operations are better than ours and I can always choose my row and express passes are worth it cause not only are they unlimited, even if they are expensive, I have bought 3 passes that allow me entry into ALL parks of three major chains, and since I will visit them all, it works out to a few dollars a park in Six Flag's case, for example. So I have no issue paying for express. I will do all seaworld and busch parks on a pass and same with cedar fair. You can't beat that value, even with our weak dollar.
    Cheers!

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree the backwards experiences were expensive. But I was willing to pay since it was unique and something I wouldn't be back to experience for quite some time. I noticed Parc Asterix actually made their backwards row free this year, but they do it off of a reservation system.
      I wish there was an unlimited Fast Track, but it does leave more capacity for the virtual queue. The park wasn't packed when I visited, so I was able to keep reserving a new ride every 30 minutes or so. I know they can run out if the park is slammed though.
      I agree the US operations tend to be faster, but I appreciated how friendly the employees at the Australian parks were compared to what I was used to at the US parks.

    • @seugoi7460
      @seugoi7460 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah village roadshow are running their parks into the ground with greed and it sucks to see. As for row requests, I've spent more time than I care to admit at gold coast parks and not once have I ever been denied a row I've asked for. I can't imagine them ever denying a row unless you have been rude or a nuisance. A simple please and thankyou goes a long way. I feel bad for the employees at village roadshow parks, they are always so friendly and I often have good chats with them and at the best of times they never had great things to say about management but with how they have been treating guests in recent years I can't imagine employees having a good time with them. And with the park experience declining so much I imagine it must be frustrating for them to deal with angry guests caused by the terrible management. The same management who makes them assign rows, forces so many procedures that operations are downright horrendous and leaves guests with a sour taste in their mouth before they even get halfway through their day by milking them of every cent they can get.

    • @teddym2808
      @teddym2808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seugoi7460 To this day I have never had a single day at those parks when they weren't slammed and the waits weren't an hour minimum for each ride. Heck we waited 2 hours for the Giant Drop last time a few years back, just before the rapids incident. And Movie World has always been slammed like crazy for me. Dreamworld have always let me request my seat but I've had 50/50 at Movie World. I am never rude to ride ops, ever, and they have never been rude to me either. For example if it's ever been denied, it's been like "we are so busy today I am sorry we can't allow you to wait the extra train, please be seated", and things like that. The point is, the queues should be designed in a way that you can line up for whatever row you like. That in itself, that one tweak would increase efficiency at our parks.
      The problem in America is that many ride ops are fat and lazy, yet somehow they are still faster than ours. It's our overbearing procedures just to get a ride out that is partly to blame.

    Even Wonderland was a shell compared to the other Taft built parks. I guess the low population doesn’t warrant a world class park.
