Publish so much great content? You must be having a laugh. This guy misinforms, has no sense of humour and clearly can't ride for toffee. Just total, boring drivel. Use your heads and look a bit deeper into his Vlogs, there's simply no substance.
Well in my defence I don't knowingly misinform, but as I frequently state (if you read my smallprint - which is aimed directly at people like you) I only do this for free entertainment purposes, I'm no expert and getting old so I do occassionally fluff things up or make an error. I'm very happy to be corrected. No sense of humour seems a little harsh, although I do try and err on more subtle and gently humour so it's possible you miss them. Whether I can ride or not is for others to judge not me - all I can say is I have ridden thousands of miles two up through Alaska, Japan, Europe, Thailand, the US and elsewhere and lucky for me haven't had a mishap yet. Again, I'm no expert, just sayin'. Anyway, I recognise your pain, I hope whatever is not right in your life you are able to sort - all the best my friend!
Seriously, you only do this for free entertainment purposes? So, not the money you're pulling in through TH-cam, nor the sponsored payment, nor the manufacturer paid trips etc. That's seriously very good of you and I must be mistaken. It's not about an occasional fluff, you could pull just about anybody up on TH-cam for that. It's about having real substance to your blogs along with a depth of knowledge. You're popping out Video's faster than the Catholics do kids and in my opinion, they are becoming simply for the sake of producing another Video for your hoards of followers to watch. I know that some people will watch paint dry on TH-cam (there's an idea for a video) and maybe I'm just getting old, but I did watch some of your early stuff and simply cannot watch these latest video's that in my opinion have no distinct purpose. You're very fortunate to have ridden so much and to so many countries, no doubt supported by manufacturers and other sponsors while the rest of us actually pay for our trips including the 6k miles I've done through Europe this year. If you are no expert, why the hell are you doing this and leading people up the garden path. Not your fault I suppose, if people want to watch and believe in everything you say, that's up to them. There is absolutely nothing wrong in my life. Retired at 55 and have plenty of time to do things like this without pressure. Somehow, you classify as an influencer, so all I can suggest is that you offer some real depth and knowledge to the people you are influencing. Otherwise, go and get another job (sorry, it's not a job is it, you do it for free entertainment purposes!).
Regarding the ‘advertising’, there’s been lots of bad press regarding product reviews on TH-cam (and some of it justified), however in this case full disclosure at the start made everything clear and the link provided offered the chance of a free gift to those who used it. Not a problem IMHO.
Agreed, I have no problem if the person is honest about the review being paid for by the manufacturer. There seems to be a group of people who think You Tubers should be happy amateurs, but still provide regular content, using high quality equipment, however they probably have no problem watching their favourite programs on the TV with highly paid presenters and production crews and facilities, and if its the BBC they don't even have to stand or fall by the revenue they can generate.
I can’t see a problem with sponsored videos. You were very clear about it at the beginning. Respect Sir, for standing up for your principles and refusing to be directed to say this or that by contract. They submitted the product for your review, they can hardly expect you to say it’s good, if it’s not as good as advertised.
this...and no clickbait. I saw the title of the video and immediately knew it wasn't my cup of tea. As long as it's clear and identified as advertisement, it's fair game. Channel owners also have bills to pay, I respect that especially when said creators are also respectful to their viwership
the fact that you (Andy) do so few of these, actually gives your 'advertising' more credence, so I'll watch them. Actually, I was hoping for a bit more info, think you could have gone a few minutes longer.
Enjoyed the update Andy. I don't know why people have such an issue with sponsored videos when you publish so much great content. I absolutely am enjoying the tour videos and look forward to the live streams 😁
Im 60 years old, I do not believe it myself, where have all the years gone. I lived yes. Well back to ailments, last year in January I had a shoulder issue, damn it was painful night without sleep. Then I went to Osteopath and started doing Pilates. All of this helps, still have some pain on some days, but can ride. In January 2024 we were at the Penguins in Valladolid, on one tour I was not even able to ride my bike, so much pain. But as I said Pilates and Osteopath have helped.
Thanks for the update TMF. I’ve been watching you for ages and enjoy listening to your thoughts on the bikes you review. Best wishes on your shoulder and get better soon!
As an Australian I wasn't prepared for the so-called roads in regional England. They are nothing short of goat tracks and are the width of you average driveway here in Aus. Loved the scenery and the people but the roads...
The small roads without white lines are mostly ‘U’ graded roads, referred to colloquially as lanes (the French call theirs ‘ les chemins’). In many cases these roads are hundreds or thousands of years old having been used since before the bronze age, but many laid by the Romans (the straighter ones). Most have been paved of course. But many remain as dirt tracks and can be enjoyed as ‘green lanes’ and are enjoyable for off roading. ‘B’ roads may have similar history but are now double width and lined, usually the most paved fun, ‘A’ roads being the heavy lifting roads before motorways/highways
I wouldn't be expecting him to come tour here as we don't speak Spanish or French and its terribly stuffy with those convicts you know, especially near Iron Knob and Itchy Krakole.
I miss riding my 1995 R1100GS. I took me 15 years and about 1500 miles shy of 100,000 miles. It was the best handling most comfortable bike I ever rode including my 1994 Honda Goldwing. Altogether I logged approximately in the neighborhood of 350,000 miles on 2 wheels but 4 years ago I lost my left leg which ended my riding carreer.
Nice to hear that your favourite bike is the old GS. Just a proper bike with the right things you really need when you are on the roads. No apps and electronics that doesn’t work when you need them, No quickshifter, just a clonk when you shift gear, not +150 bhp etc.etc. For us who’s been in the saddle for a long time, (myself 50 years) this is what motorcycling is all about. When I want to go comfy I take the car. Cheers and thank you for your great channel! 😊👍🇸🇪
Could not agree more. Just went from 900gs back to 800gs. I believe new bmw bikes are too much money, too much unnecessary things on it. Too much posh. I dont need it. Its like having newest iphone. You can perfectly live with few years old one and couldnt make a difference.
I had a whiffy petrol smell after a service once, turned out they had unscrewed the fuel cap from the tank, then put it back, but didn't notice that the filler-cap to tank rubber seal had shifted slightly... I just re-aligned and whiff was gone.
People criticising content around advertising clearly don't realise that TH-camrs do need to have an income and that their time isn't free. It's bizarre to me that anyone would not understand this but there you go...
A different side of the coin... !st, I like Flyer, I've been tuning in to him for a very long time. Not all his videos but quite a few. He is a great guy. 2nd, Why does TH-cam have to be a "Job" for people? It used to be that people just used the ad revenue to update their camera and computer gear, not make a living, It reminds me of the Uber/Lyft people, that started out as a way of extra income but then they bastardized it demanding unreasonable benefits. Thankfully taxis still exist. So, if they are trying to use this social platform as a form of income then they should to cater to their consumers. I Pay for a Premium TH-cam membership. So, that puts me at a different level than someone that doesn't pay to watch content. These manufacturers have found a way around the premium membership with these embedded commercials. So, as a paying customer I feel that I'm within my right to ask a content creator to put the ads at the end of their program or at least put time stamps so I can quickly zip past their ads. If thery don't then I exercise my other perogative of not watching their content. Which is what I've done with quite a few channels. Flyer announced that his video (which I didn't watch) was an advertisement at the get go. I also didn't watch RyanF9's video which was an ad for insta.
Personally speaking, I ALWAYS enjoy your trips away with Mrs Flyer. Apart from anything else, they give me ideas for next year's trip abroad👍☺. You keep the trip coming 😀🏍.
Agreed, The Toro videos from way back inspired me to get off my butt and start my multi-year trip through Europe and I am still getting ideas and inspiration from this latest series.
I haven't been abroad for 3 years but I have amazing memories of your trip to Japan, really soaked up some culture there. And your other trips. There's nothing like a road trip to cheer me up on the half-dark autumn and winter days in the UK.
Hey Andy, glad to see you back on the road. Calcified tendonitis in my right shoulder over the last 6 months has stopped me too from doing quite a lot, including riding my Tiger 660. Hope next op is more successful for you.
I don't watch any of your review videos unless it's something I'm specifically interested in buying. I do however love your tour videos and watch all of them. It's the main reason I join your channel...especially the banter between yourself and Mrs F.
Nice. A pleasant trundle through the lanes whilst sharing news with pals is always welcome, and no problem with the ads at their current frequency. I noticed you still have far more leaves left on the trees than here in Aberdeenshire, with several frosts down to -4C already and snow on the higher hills. Stay warm.
Totally random comment. But seeing your list of topics taped to the tank reminded me of the time about 25 years ago when I used Blu Tack to stick the directions on the tank of my Ducati SS750 (not a very bright idea, I know). My wife was driving down to Cornwall with the kids and I was taking the bike down so we could do some 2-wheeled trips whilst there. Of course the directions blew off after a few miles at around Beaconsfield on the M40 with nearly 290 miles to go to St Ives. No SatNav or mobile phones back then. I got lost several times and arrived very late in the dark to an extremely unsympathetic other-half. I've not really used Blu Tack for anything else since. It was a good ride though - I enjoyed every minute of it.
I very recently had a stent put into the old "pump"....I was on the slab at 10 am on a Wednesday , and Friday afternoon, I was on my way home....God Bless the NHS (which was exactly what I said to the surgeon after the op')....
I know what you mean about a heated seat. Luxury. I hear the latest accessory you can get for your bike is two extra wheels and a fully enclosed air conditioned cabin! Those that have tried it have said they would never go back! Slippery slope, son.😁
In defence of these “wimpy” extras. I live close to Cairngorms national park and try to ride all year round. Problem is it’s a tad cold so heated grips and seat make it all possible. Doesn’t make any difference to the crap road surfaces but it helps.
The E10 issue is true. Until recently I had a T595 which I bought in 1997 and all was good until a few years ago when I left it over the winter with a full tank of ethanol fuel. When I opened up the garage ready for my first ride of the year, the tank had blisters covering most of it's surface. I called the manufacturers UK office and found that they make the tanks for Triumph, BMW and Ducati and all had to be re-formulated to withstand the new fuels. It's a problem for classic car owners too 'cause the stuff destroys o rings, seals etc in the fuel systems.
@@EWAScotland don’t be a dick, it’s a well known issue especially on older vehicles. Norton fuel tanks (as one example) don’t tolerate E10. TVS bikes may be better, don’t know.
Hi, just referring to your fuel issue, is it a plastic fuel tank? Or is the filler cap plastic? I had a dreadful KTM 990 SMT; it had a fuel tank and filler cap made from plastic, ABS I'm sure. The cap swelled and I had to shave bits off it to get it to fit in the hole. The tank swelled, I had to elongate the mounting holes in the side fairing trim pieces to get them to fit. The worst symptom was the plastic tank interior degraded and broke down, the fuel filter blocked, imploded and caused a right load of bother. Terrible bike, I was so happy to get rid of it.
Its an interesting point, as people often think just because something is sponsored its not your own opinion. Whilst there are some 'influencers' that are obviously influenced themselves. People know and trust your content, and although it may be paid for, its far from biased. Thanks for the update, nice to be out for a ride with you Andy
Cheers Tony, difficult one isn't it - nobody (me included) likes to be sold too do they....not so bad if the seller is transparent that that is what they are doing, but still it seems somehow not quite British doesn't it...
@@TheMissendenFlyer yep, but a lot of hours get put into these videos, which people watch for free, do they expect that the creator buys all the product with their own money? I had a ‘discussion’ with someone in the comments section who said that because I was given a helmet to review, I would automatically be biased. I argued that potentially he was more biased because he had spent his own money on it, and therefore was financially involved, and as such felt the need to justify his purchase? Mine was just another helmet on the shelf.
@@TheMissendenFlyer still miss the original quirky theme music at the start of your vids ! Swimming 3 times a week certainly helped my back aches and pains at 59
I love countryside meandering rides too, a lot to be said for it ! I'm not adverse to sporty riding, but chilling out on backroads is most therapeutic 🙂
Nothing to do with titles and thumbnails, I’m just interested in motorcycles not touring, I used to hate other peoples home movies!😊. BTW, audio on the live stream clip sounded amazing.
Don’t often comment on your videos despite watching 95% of them. I don’t mind your ‘adverts’ & I love your tour videos, but what makes you my most watched TH-camr is how the viewer gets a full review of each bike - meaning I can really like a bike when you don’t & vice versa. Keep making the full range of your stuff 👍
I enjoy your tour videos because they save me having to do the trips myself. I've saved a fortune touring the world on TH-cam, from the comfort of my sofa.
I was at Yamaha UK yesterday and saw the R9 and sat on it. Its quite wristy which is a bit of a shame.. I guess its to be expected as they are pitching it as a proper super sport. Enjoyed that Andy 👌
I'm surprised you weren't looking at Yamaha Spain or Yamaha Caribbean!!!! I saw the 44 Teeth guys said it wasn't as wristy as the R7 (which I found fine) so I'm hoping it's not that bad.....can't be as bad as my ol' Pani....
I’m a new subscriber as I’m wanting to get back into motorbikes after many yrs. In my 60,s now. Loving this channel. Scran with J and D. Watched the Norway tour. I’m looking for a bike now. Need to start small. Great channel. Safe riding. Russ
The leaf color change is at peak in N E Ohio, so my favorite slow backroads bike is my g310gs. Exploring roads never taken and dead end roads seem to be a quest of mine, especially now that that days are shorter and the deer 🦌 sightings are more prevalent. Looking forward to the next installment of your tour. Like you, my favorite ride is the one I'm on. Lol. 👍👍
I'm liking the look of the new Triumph Tiger 800 Sport. Could be a perfect little touring machine at half the price of a GSA. Why does every journalist invited on the launch say "now Ive seen the bike I actually like the look of it now"?
I fancy the new Tiger 800 too, my Tiger 1200 Gt Pro is a bit heavy for me I think. I have been wishing Triumph used the Street Triple 765 as a base for a tourer, and this could be it.
Hi. Re your shoulder. A few years back I was in a similar position. I'd had several cortisone jabs. The final one being guided ultrasound. None worked. The final step was surgery to grind away bone to relieve internal impingement. I opted not to. I did though go down the acupuncture/ acupressure route. It took quite a few sessions but it worked. It allows the body to lower inflammation and swelling itself. It really does work in that scenario. Obviously though it can't help if you've got a mechanical problem where something is broken or disconnected
Yes I've had about 3 non guided and 3 guided cortisone jabs over the last 5 years (worked for a week or two). I had the "Sub humeral decompression" operation last November (where they get rid of bits of bone) and that caused the shoulder to freeze. I've had two ops to "unfreeze" it but neither have worked so now I'm just having to wait for it to fix itself and am in more pain than ever with it!.....(I am seeing a physio but the jury is out on the effectiveness)....
@TheMissendenFlyer my other half went for a reversed shoulder replacement. Nothing worked with the frozen shoulder. After the replacement he's back on his bikes totally pain free
@@suesue5694 Lucky fella! I hope to get to that stage but I'm told I can't have a replacement until the freezing is sorted (or you just end up with a frozen replacement)....
That’s the beauty of it! I wonder why they don’t use it as part of assisted suicide deaths in countries that allow it - couldn’t be more humane (tricky subject I know!!)….or indeed on death row (another tricky subject)….
Hi Andy, love all your video’s. I really like the tour ones, so not sure why they don’t do as well. Just out of interest what did you used to do before being a TH-cam star? Interesting to see some more rides on the retro bikes. Also would love to see some more input on the Kawasaki Z900 RS SE.
Ref your 2:03 comment regarding ethanol fuel, if your actual tank is nylon based it is indeed very prone to warping after using high ethanol content petrol, not sure what Beemer tanks are made of though. Speak to most Aprilia, and many Duc owners, especially those in the states, there are /or were class actions against the manufacturers taking place I believe. It's not the Ethanol per se,it's the water concentration the ethanol attracts that does the damage. Higher ethanol content = more water simples.
Great video nice to see you out after your op it can be hard. I still struggle 2yrs on from a triple bypass but get out when I have the urge. I'm looking forward to those Voge videos. Hopefully, it will make mid capacity motorcycling affordable again. Would be great to see LNR Moto on your livestreams she does some stunning tours on TH-cam!
Have you tried physio for the shoulder? I couldn't put a seat belt on or lift my left arm, 7 sessions, some watery eyes and exercises later I can actually do stuff again. Private physio might seem expensive but being able to move again is pure bliss.
Just keep doing what your doing Mr Flyer, tour vids, bike reviews product reviews always find your content interesting and informative. You have the gift of the gab something l find hard to do on my moto vlogs. My favourite tour vid of yours even though you had sound issues was Thailand.
One thing to slightly defend the dealer - now they could have been fobbing you off, however as a R1250 owner, I've contaminated fuel twice (I only use E5) and both times the garages have sold fuel that's been well past it's sell by date. I am much more selective where I fill up now, and moreover both times the repair has commented the fuel was indeed E10... which wasn't what I thought I had bought! I have had issue with the fuel smell too - but it turned out to be seals (eaten up by the crap fuel)
Great ride out and good to have a catch up chat. Sorry to hear your shoulder op was unsuccessful, but thank goodness for modern anaesthetics, years ago they were awful, with long recovery times. I enjoy all your channel content, so thanks very much and please keep it all coming 👍😁
The weather has been beautiful here in the US northeast...all the leaves are turning orange, red and yellow and the temps are lovely. This is my favorite time of year to ride. Cheers Mr. Flyer.
Purchased new or used , all my bikes are intended to be used as all year round hacks . No point me owning them otherwise , what ever the cost it’s money that I once had & prepared to fully write off, the minute I pick up & own the bike . 😎👍
You asked for bike suggestions, can I suggest a gearbox instead. Would love your review of the new BMW ASA gearbox, particularly in comparison to Honda’s DCT box.
I grew up in Thame, always enjoyed riding on some of the lovely roads round Bicester, Aylesbury and South. It’s interesting to see you going through areas I know and especially the biker scran series to find cafes to try out. Touring is always interesting to see for future tours myself. Generally enjoyable videos you put out, you can’t please everyone! Even my favourite channels put out some fluff pieces.
Ouch frozen shoulder 😮 I feel your pain. I’ve had a frozen shoulder since I had a serious accident in 2019 🙄 I haven’t opted for surgery as I suffered a stroke during surgery to mend my leg after the accident, so I just struggle on and keep riding my bike 🏍️ Some glorious colours already on your ride, very enjoyable thank you very much 👍
I’ve been riding a 1250 RS for nearly 2 years. I love it but I’m curious about the new 1300 version but I think it’s not for quite soon. Thank you and best wishes for your shoulder 🙏✌️
Loved this! That’s a super livestream setup you’ve installed! Looking forward to all the upcoming stuff on the channel, especially the livestreams and, of course, the GSA! Excellent as ever!
Nice update, nice to see the GS out and impressive your riding so soon after the op. I recently posted something to ‘Slag Lane’, the lady at the post office had a chuckle with me when she was entering the address 😂 Take care and all the best, Dave
Hi Andy. I have a 2015 R1200 gs and love it too. Bought it new and will not be upgrading to the 1250 or the new 1300 any time soon. I believe th😅e 14, 15, and 16 models were the best, Every model after that got boring because they softened the throttle response meaning, you have to twist the throttle more to get the power.
Great video as usual, I have owned the Voge 900 DSX for 7 months and thoroughly tested and reviewed it, if you want any long term thoughts. Although well supported by a main dealership network here in Spain as an early adoptor the original fuel and throttle mapping was not up to BMW standards, however through community and a 4.4 map update i put out. Its an amazing motorcycle now. Ride safe✌️
As a long time subscriber to the channel the content of which I thoroughly enjoy, no issue whatsoever on sponsored content. In fact, to support the channel in a small way, I’ll use the affiliate links to buy stuff that I want where relevant. Just realised I type this wearing a TMF hoodie 😂 so a proper fan boy. Great channel, keep up the good work and looking forward to episode 3 of Winging it on Saturday👍
You need to do more of these Andy. It's like having the craic at the ABR without having to queue for pints! I'm intrigued about your thoughts on the new GSA. Superb catchup mate. 🎥🎥🎥
Can you have Nigel Farage and Keir Starmer to explain their position on the motorcycling future in the UK as it feels like it is an industry and a pasttime that, for many, is doomed on the current track.
I actually bought the cfmoto 800mt because the voge 800dsx was late coming to the uk . After watching other reviews i wish in some respect i had waited as i think the voge is a better bike . I look forward to seeing your review . Your reviews are always very honest and if you don’t,t really like it you say so without any fear from upsetting the manufacturer. Well done on that . Love the update video
Very much a personal thing I know, but I prefer the tour videos over the other content. Love to see the locations and roads/scenery and often find it inspiring for future trips of my own!😊👍
Great video and interesting chat. Just a thought about your frozen shoulder. I had one some time ago and was offered surgery which I declined. As an alternative I had three months physio which was completely successful with no problems or reoccurrence. My thought is always stay away from the knife if at all possible. However, I hope you are very much better very soon. Looking forward to Saturday.
Morning Andy, a welcome surprise. Nice to see the GS out and about. Lovely ride and scenery. I do love my 1200 GS, I was thinking just yesterday, a heated seat would be nice. PS. I found the advert quite interesting. Look after the shoulder.
I don't know why it is but I find your talking videos very engaging and interesting. Love the bike news every month and bits like this one. I find you and Mrs Flyer a very good combination for live streams because you interact very well. I was also in hospital last week in Exeter, the Cardiac unit having a stent (2nd one) fitter on Thursday afternoon. Not a major heart attack so all is looking like it will recover ok. Cant drive for a month or ride the bike for at least 6 weeks but the wife has said not for the winter. I also like the tours so keep them coming.
Great video Andy. I’m with you on the R9, looking forward to riding that…you can have the GS Adventure though. Also keen to see the rumored R1300RT and Royal Enfield Classic650
The bike I'm looking forward to riding is my own 74 plate Transalp which I've not had for very long but absolutely love and have had such a good time riding it on both the tiny goat track roads in England and also it's comfortable on the motorway too. Next year I'm planning a short trip to the Hebrides and then a much longer trip up to the north of Denmark to get the ferry over to ride around the Icelandic ring road which is going to be an epic trip!
Frozen shoulder is awful. I had rotator cuff injury and took several years to fully rwcover. Funnily enough i find general anaesthetic pleasing as it literally, to use you phrase, "switches you off!" Clocks go backon Sunday. My partner said she never holds on when on the goldwing and we have done some tricky pyranees passes.
Always enjoy these update vids. Hope the shoulder gets sorted asap too. Sounds like a very frustrating saga. Bikes wise, CB1000, R9, & Ducati V2 replacement all seem interesting propositions. Get Chops in as a guest for sure. As for the lack of abuse on your tour series, I'll be sure to give you some stick on the next one if you're missing it. ; )
Andy, Riding weather looks good. 👍🏼 I just returned from a Nashville, TN to Newport, RI roundtrip on my '24 R1250R. The first long distance tour on it. No problems with the bike although the windscreen I have is bit small. I am going to try another option from CalSci. I hope to have it next week. My fingers are crossed that it will solve the bike's greatest shortcoming. Next week I am riding the capable Moto Guzzi Mandello to Savannah, Georgia. A good portion of that journey should be among autumn colors. Cheers, Mitch
Bryant’s Bottom - can’t say anything about Bryant, but the “bottom” is a valley in Chalk landscape of the Chiltern Hills. Marlow Bottom is also in a valley
Oh I didn’t know you had another op , I’m so sorry your shoulder is still bad , mine is too , I’m now glad I only had one op , it’s in bed mine hurts the worse, I thought I might try a chiropractor but very expensive. Glad you’re riding ya bike fairy quick. It would be nice to see Mrs Flyer riding her bike? Going out on mine tomorrow, while it’s dry if I’m lucky??😊
Yes trying to sleep with the shoulder is the worst for sure....I'm now 3 operations in and I'm worse than when I started...so much for medical science eh!
The road from Long Crendon to Bicester is a lovely one near you. It's mostly flowing bends over undulating terrain with good visibility & surface. Recommended.
Great updates and loved the funnies 😂- been following your channel for a long time now - excellent bike reviews and even the basics on how you maintain your bikes - all have been a great help and even lead me to getting an R1200GS and more recently an F750GS...keep em coming!
I think the touring video success depends on the interest in the location. I watched your Japan tour, and Itchy Boots does the more extreme locations so those are interesting to watch. I will also watch a UK tour if it's on a bike I am specifically interested in.
Very sorry to see the shoulder problem persists, and I hope it gets resolved soon. I can’t understand the complaints about paid reviews. You’re always transparent about them, and they will be useful to many. I’ve been introduced to some genuinely excellent products via You Tube (Ashley Watson gear for one). It’s easy enough to take or leave a video, or, for that matter, a product. The livestreams are always good fun and the two of you make a great team on those. Thanks for all the great content. I’ll be watching the Winging It series shortly. Not caught up yet, but, like Harry’s Garage road trips, it’s always great to be along for the ride!
Yes that's a great choice the R9 would be a fantastic ,, I'm only 5"8 a GS always seems like a big bike,, you seem to handle one fine☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland be along winter but chats are going to be good 👍
Great vlog Andy…your verbal dexterity is suited to what you do 💯 I’m particularly interested in the Voge 900DSX …shame the review will be January.. Not fussed it’s Chinese built..Loncin make over 2mill bikes a year and that engine was approved by BMW…my iPhone is fine too..concern would be spares, dealers, warranty and the importer MOTOGB hasn’t got the best reviews on Trustpilot. £9k for a fully loaded bike of that size/type is potentially a bargain! May bring my white van out to Missenden and see if I get snapped in one of your vlogs 😎 Atb…Alan
I enjoy your videos each week. For the live stream you mentioned Freddie Dobbs who I also follow. It would be great if you could have Stuart Fillingham as one of your guests if that’s possible.
Hahahah that comment about (Freddie for sure) was hilarious! I agree Freddie will be a good one for you , don't think you can fit you Stuart and his ego all in the video camera 😂 Iv also heard rawrides_uk_ is a great chap to ride with if your down Kent way
At 30000 miles that GS is just run in. Friends tell me about the boxer engine longevity. Have VStrom 1000 myself and love the upright seating position of Adventure bikes and the view of traffic that the seat height gives me. Cheers
Andy it would be great to see you and Mrs Flyer on a live stream, congrats on the new kit, it looks well 'pro' Glad to hear you are keeping the 1200 GS, reckon you should keep it regardless of what else you may get in the future, you've got some serious history together ! Cheers.
Had 2 frozen shoulders, though not at the same time, extremely painful but they will usually go away in 18 months. love my present bikes 2011 Yamaha MT01 and sensible Suzuki v Strom 800 de.
You have a great channel. Don’t let the extremely few critics take away from that nor diminish your enthusiasm. I’m sure it has to hurt one’s feelings a bit…it would me, but some people just move through life either miserable or believing that their rudeness is acceptable.
Bryant's Bottom: There's a 'Lomas's Bottoms' near us here. 'Bottom' or 'bottoms' refers to an area of low lying ground, and 'Bryant; or 'Lomas' were the owners of said low lying ground. Tour videos - probably not too popular because no matter how well produced they are, there;s an element of 'watching someone else's holiday snaps'.
I ordered the Aoocci C6Pro 6" about nine days ago for my new Speed Twin 1200, because I think it will suit the bike, and after John reviewed the product. It was dispatched on the 18th October, and I think it's on a slow boat from China! Only kidding, hopefully it's sitting in UK Customs waiting for clearance. I've got an old Garmin zūmo XT unit, but I was never happy with the maps and the route planning on it. I reported a local map error to Garmin about two years ago, and they still haven't fixed it! The route will send you into the delivery area at the back of a local shopping centre where all the HGV lorries go, instead of the car park. 😒
Nice reassuring message about ops. I’m still at the injections and physio state to sort a knackered right shoulder but have been warned that an operation might be necessary. This injury has stopped me riding much this year want to get it fixed.
@@TheMissendenFlyer Thanks flyer, good advice. You do get the impression that some of the consultants can’t wait to get the knives out at times! Nothing surgeons can do is as good as what God provided so the aim is to avoid customisation and stay original.
Andy , advertise away 😊. You've given us great tips on products over the years. I even purchased some of your merch. My last purchase the Monimoto Tracker which is great. Bikes for 2025. XADV 750 It's had some serious upgrades😊
Hey TMF! Nice update and good to see the GS out and about. I have to agree with you about the new GSA. What a weird looking thing. The standard new one in green looks really good but what were they thinking with the Adventure? Awful. I'll stick with my ST1100 for touring! Think I'll spend the 20K savings on a Triumph next year. I'll keep you updated of course! Cheers.
Hi Andy, unfortunately the E10 Ethanol problem is very real and ruined the tank and side panels on my Aprilia dorsoduro 750. It doesn't eat the plastic but instead makes it swell up. Newer bikes use a different grade of plastic so my Tuareg 660 is unaffected 👍🏼 I'm going in for a general anaesthetic on Friday😬
Even E5 will cause swelling in a tank not meant for ethanol. When I did my research before approaching Aprilia it was all over the internet and affected KTM's, Triumph and even Harley D!
Couldn’t help being distracted by your tyre pressures sticker on the left of your bars - pressures in PSI look like they’re given to 2 decimal places!!! 😂. Fair play if you can keep them that accurate!!! 😊.
You're right the Chilterns are beautiful. I did the Ridgeway walk in the 80's, through Chequers. Born in Hemel Hempstead, now out in Oz. Love the scenery and flintstone walls in this video. No complaints about Oz but always enjoy a trip back. Your videos are cheaper than an airfare.
As I have had both frozen shoulders in the past, a very painful condition, I'm sorry to hear that the latest operation hasn't worked, As for the new GS, I'll be interested to see what you think of the new automatic gearbox.
@@TheMissendenFlyer I hung on in there with a few shoulder injections but I avoided surgery. After 20 years I don't have a full range of movement though. I can't raise my arms to a complete vertical. No pain and it doesn't stop me riding which is my main concern. My brother had one arm 'cracked open' as the consultant put it and he ended up with a better range of movement in that shoulder. I think the whole thing lasted 2 or 3 years...
I came across your videos when you went 😂out for " runs " around the country side. Britain is one beautiful country. I was born in Thetford , Norfolk in 1946. Arrived in America with my " mum in 1947 . My father was stationed in England, repaired radios on B-17s and fighters. I visited England in 1988 to get to know my grandfather. I am into landscape photography and riding a motor bike would be a great way to view the world. I plan to get licensed to " ride " here in America. Looking to get a " ride" that is light, flickered, but not hinder flow of traffic. I guess I could say ride on two wheels as if on horse back. Keep up the videos. I " ride " with you when go out.
Indeed a beautiful part of the world - I remember blasting my Laverda 650 Sport round those parts many a moon ago. I don't remember entering Bryant's Bottom, but it looks very appealing, although I would probably have to stop at the Gate on the way in - just to get some liquid lubrication😜
All the best to you....
Regarding the ‘advertising’, there’s been lots of bad press regarding product reviews on TH-cam (and some of it justified), however in this case full disclosure at the start made everything clear and the link provided offered the chance of a free gift to those who used it. Not a problem IMHO.
Thank you....
Delighted to hear that - thank you!
I jump the video when the sponsored stuff comes on. I do that with every channel.
Much appreciated! Thanks for stopping by!
As an Australian I wasn't prepared for the so-called roads in regional England. They are nothing short of goat tracks and are the width of you average driveway here in Aus. Loved the scenery and the people but the roads...
@@LachlanJackson-ws1py I know right I live rural NT I’ve seen bigger snake trails than most there roads in UK lol 😂
You’re right there! I guess they started out as tracks many years ago and have just stayed that way….
And they wonder why people prefer SUVs and adv bikes here. They lost the ability to build roads after the Romans left.
Really sorry to think your riding stopped after loosing your left leg,
You thought of trying a DCT from Honda?

Nice to hear that your favourite bike is the old GS. Just a proper bike with the right things you really need when you are on the roads. No apps and electronics that doesn’t work when you need them, No quickshifter, just a clonk when you shift gear, not +150 bhp etc.etc. For us who’s been in the saddle for a long time, (myself 50 years) this is what motorcycling is all about. When I want to go comfy I take the car.
Cheers and thank you for your great channel! 😊👍🇸🇪
Thank you Nick! If I want to go comfy I take the Goldwing!
Could not agree more. Just went from 900gs back to 800gs. I believe new bmw bikes are too much money, too much unnecessary things on it. Too much posh. I dont need it. Its like having newest iphone. You can perfectly live with few years old one and couldnt make a difference.
But you are one of the sheep! Everyone’s got one!
I had a whiffy petrol smell after a service once, turned out they had unscrewed the fuel cap from the tank, then put it back, but didn't notice that the filler-cap to tank rubber seal had shifted slightly... I just re-aligned and whiff was gone.
Maybve that's it....
Hey Andy, Thanks for the shoutout! You are too kind!! Everyone loves a warm botty :D
So great to have you mentioned Kate 💕🫂
Depends on what is making it warm :)
What I don't understand is why people don't just choose to not watch the video instead of feeling the have to criticize.
Personally speaking, I ALWAYS enjoy your trips away with Mrs Flyer. Apart from anything else, they give me ideas for next year's trip abroad👍☺. You keep the trip coming 😀🏍.
Thank you Keith!
Great story! Littering Beaconsfield, I don't know, outrageous.....
Hehe, well I’m not pretending I don’t own, drive (and love) my cars too!
In defence of these “wimpy” extras.
I live close to Cairngorms national park and try to ride all year round. Problem is it’s a tad cold so heated grips and seat make it all possible. Doesn’t make any difference to the crap road surfaces but it helps.
For someone with more that one bike, a heated base layer might be a better bet.
Yes by my bike was bought new in 2013 (hardly a classic) and I run it on e5!
Also swelled the tank on the Harley Sportster 1200 (high pipe model), preventing plastic cover from fitting.
E10 rots stuff, seals, rubber etc. it’s not BS especially on older bikes.
I’m pretty sure that BMW designed the LC GS to run on E10 (ironically I’ve only ever run mine on E5!)
Where’s your evidence for this, or did your mate down the pub tell you?
It does indeed. It eats plastic fuel tanks just ask early 2000 Ducati Monster owners.

Don’t often comment on your videos despite watching 95% of them.

It's the waking up mid procedure you don't want.
Andy, love the dialogue, and ref advertising, keep it up no issues at all, as you say you can always skip it. Fab job thanks

Have you tried physio for the shoulder? I couldn't put a seat belt on or lift my left arm, 7 sessions, some watery eyes and exercises later I can actually do stuff again. Private physio might seem expensive but being able to move again is pure bliss.
I’ve been seeing physios on and off for the last five years, including a private for the last six months.

Yes that was a fun trip - loved it there! Thanks for watching!

Ride safe✌️
Thanks for sharing!

Can you have Nigel Farage and Keir Starmer to explain their position on the motorcycling future in the UK as it feels like it is an industry and a pasttime that, for many, is doomed on the current track.
Now that would be ascoop! Maybe Donald and Kamala too.....
Love to see the locations and roads/scenery and often find it inspiring for future trips of my own!😊👍
That’s great to hear - thank you!
I had six months of physio before this latest operation, didn’t help sadly.
Morning Andy, a welcome surprise. Nice to see the GS out and about. Lovely ride and scenery. I do love my 1200 GS, I was thinking just yesterday, a heated seat would be nice. PS. I found the advert quite interesting. Look after the shoulder.
Glad to hear that!
Great stuff, TMF..honest vlog as ever..get all the lads involved..for the shenanigans..😂👍👍...forgot to mention, aswell mrs flyer..cant leave her out..
Thank you for the kind words - hope you have a speedy recovery!
Funnily enough i find general anaesthetic pleasing as it literally, to use you phrase, "switches you off!"
Clocks go backon Sunday.
As for the lack of abuse on your tour series, I'll be sure to give you some stick on the next one if you're missing it. ; )
No need to truible yourself! But thanks for the kind offer.....
@@TheMissendenFlyer Lol.
Ducati V2 has underseat heating as standard I do believe like the panigali
Nice reflective video there. I sympathise, having had frozen shoulders on both sides. Ride safe . Glad your missus is doing well.
Andy,
Riding weather looks good. 👍🏼
I just returned from a Nashville, TN to Newport, RI roundtrip on my '24 R1250R.
Cheers,
Mitch
Nice - been a long time since I went to Savannah, lovely spot….enjoy!
Bryant’s Bottom - can’t say anything about Bryant, but the “bottom” is a valley in Chalk landscape of the Chiltern Hills. Marlow Bottom is also in a valley
Indeed - just my little joke…
Really lovely relaxed update … now want to see you do the monthly MCN review and Parish notices in this formate while riding 🤣🤣
I'll look that up (there are a few around out that way and over towards Marlow/Henley....)
Great updates and loved the funnies 😂- been following your channel for a long time now - excellent bike reviews and even the basics on how you maintain your bikes - all have been a great help and even lead me to getting an R1200GS and more recently an F750GS...keep em coming!
Much appreciated!
Wow me and Harry in the same sentence! Like it….
Yes that's a great choice the R9 would be a fantastic ,, I'm only 5"8 a GS always seems like a big bike,, you seem to handle one fine☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland be along winter but chats are going to be good 👍
Great vlog Andy…your verbal dexterity is suited to what you do 💯
I’m particularly interested in the Voge 900DSX …shame the review will be January..
Just been out on Alan - It's a great bike......
I have to say you come across on YT very well you are a good natural presenter.
Well thank you very much - very kind of you to say so!
It took me 2 years to get over a frozen shoulder- used to work it till I was sick 🤷♂️. No pain no gain !👍👍
Tell me about it….I’m a year in…..(after 30 years of other shoulder issues)…
I enjoy your videos each week. For the live stream you mentioned Freddie Dobbs who I also follow. It would be great if you could have Stuart Fillingham as one of your guests if that’s possible.
Freddie for sure.....
😂😂😂
Hahahah that comment about (Freddie for sure) was hilarious! I agree Freddie will be a good one for you , don't think you can fit you Stuart and his ego all in the video camera 😂
Iv also heard rawrides_uk_ is a great chap to ride with if your down Kent way
At 30000 miles that GS is just run in.
Cheers.
Well that's it indeed....
Had 2 frozen shoulders, though not at the same time, extremely painful but they will usually go away in 18 months. love my present bikes 2011 Yamaha MT01 and sensible Suzuki v Strom 800 de.
Good luck with your shoulder Andy, and i love to see Carol beside you in your livestream.
I think she,s lovely.😊
Easy!!
You have a great channel. Don’t let the extremely few critics take away from that nor diminish your enthusiasm. I’m sure it has to hurt one’s feelings a bit…it would me, but some people just move through life either miserable or believing that their rudeness is acceptable.
Yes it’s all part of for the course I’m afraid…..
My advice - don't have sugery unless you 100% have too.....
Awesome, thank you! …and yes funnily enough I was in touch with Honda only yesterday on the X-ADV
The irony is that I only ever use E5 in My bikes!
Brilliant.... :0)
As I have had both frozen shoulders in the past, a very painful condition, I'm sorry to hear that the latest operation hasn't worked, As for the new GS, I'll be interested to see what you think of the new automatic gearbox.
Out of interest, how did you get your shoulders fixed Steve...or did you just let nature do its thing (in which case how long)??
Thanks for watching Robert! A fellow Norfolk man…..
Yes to the live steam. You and the Mrs. 👍🏻 And you’ve got to try and get Itchy Boots on again 🤞
She's been on twice already! But yeah, I know that would do well, everyone loves Noraly!
Thanks for the update 😎 I’m with you, if I had to go down to just one bike (Heaven forbid that ever happen 🤨) I’d without question go with my GS.
