Love that in Canada we're getting the Sky Blue livery on the stock model along side the Team Blue and Titanium colours :). Might have just pulled me from the Tuareg.
Added 3 kilos ..... why ? Maybe put some lead in the handlebars just to make it more top heavy , lol . Some will like the changes some won't . For now I will keep mine and get a lighter companion like a TW200 or CRF300L Rally , something easier to haul around and pick up when the inevitable happens .
What are you going to do when those fancy "tubeless" rims break the bead 100 kms from anywhere? You'll wish you had a tube then. Maybe you're the type who will carry a tube all the time. But you can see why a bike meant for the actual off road side of ADV'ing would have tubed tires.
Bought a new 2024 this spring and to me, from 2020 to 2025 it’s still basically the same bike. If the 2025 also had cruise control and tubeless rims then it would have been a game changer. I don’t think many t7 owners will upgrade to the 2025.
Only really good thing out of the box would be some roumors of better phone-connection to the display to use turn by turn navigation. On the other hand the the menu's and selcting what to to on my 24 is soooo clunky that i dont have any high hopes that Yamaha will do it better than a stand alone system with a tablet. So i guess not for me, i would not exchange any of the erlier models for this. And that makes me happy since i bought a 24 this year.
Go try Aprilia Tuareg 660 too. I used to drive T7 for 4 years, tried Aprilia and never looked back. Mostly use it on Baltic TET, so no easy conditions compared to Scandinavia, Finland etc.
As a short rider, the narrower saddle and slimmer clutch cover are welcome improvements. Electronic throttle for cruise control is nice. And I’m an absolute sucker for cosmetic improvements. But I’d happily trade ride modes and TCS for tubeless rims.
Thanks for the walk-through! 👍 Guess I'm getting old as I'm so, so content with my 2021 Euro 5! Works equally well through the forest as on 1000 kilometers a day runs on highways across Europe 👍 Never missed traction control or colored display (why on earth?!) And I will need time to prefer the updated esthetics (if I ever will). In any case, it for sure will be interesting to follow Yamaha's further adaptations of the Tenere! 😃
Good report enjoyed. I've been watching the changes to the other CP2 powered bikes. Much all the same and one has the auto shift clutch tyranny setup. Sure that will come the way of the adv bike soon. EICMA will be interesting
Hi Robert, I not still riding the T7 V1.0 (my actual bike is the Tiger 900 Rally Pro), but the V2.0 offer me these thinks, that I would have! Lower version with no extra costs, lower point of weight, ABS switch seperat, TCS/ride by wire, flat tank closure….and I habe heard, that Yamaha also renew the muffler junction. For me now a great option to reduce! Cheers Joerg
Bought a T7 Explore 2 months ago, love it🥰 suits me perfectly. could have had ride by wire🤔. previously rode Ducati multistrada 950s, which is a fully equipped bike. the only thing i can miss is cruise control on my T7
As for now I’m sticking with my 2020 model. If it would have come with cruise control I would definetily have been tempted to upgrade. Everybody keeps moaning about the exhaust hanger, how many hangers have actually broken off from the frame, I have seen pictures of one case in five years and multiple facebook-groups. Sure, they bend, but they have never left a bike stranded.
Ahh, more like a version 1.5 😊 Great upgrades, though ride by wire and no cruisecontrol is a mistake or even a bug. Inknow T7 die hards wouldnt want the Vstrom800de, I would go for that instead. More grunty motor. And it has a cruise 3rd part option available. Check out the many upgrades to that google hessler v-strom
The World Raid will be discontinued from what I got of information from Yamaha. So the Rally is a combination of the new T7 and the T7 Extreme. You will get chance to see the new Rally a lot this year, I have one in order 😂 I absolutely love the new look but I might do a decal swap. They say it will be delivered in March/April
If that is true, I absolutely made the right move by getting a new World Rally for a great price (promotion in Germany) a few weeks ago. The World Rally/World Raid is the real deal and so fantastically simple (dongle included). On top the World Rally is so freaking beautiful (paint job rocks). I absolutely love this bike. Mark my words...These bikes (WR) will be desired in a few years from now. I am happy that you are excited. I am happy for you. Personally I don't need and do not fancy the 2025 mods except the comeback of this great light blue. The current T7 is the modern XRV 750 Africa Twin made by Yamaha. That's why I love the current T7. Discontinuing the WR/WRally would be a shame and a big mistake. Guys in Australia for example absolutely love the WR because of its stability and more importantly because of its range. 16 litres are not enough in remote areas.
Nice colour for the Rally. Rest is a moderate update. What about the price update? If it's only 100 € more we all applaud. 1000 € more everybody boos. When are you in serious talks with your dealer, Robert? Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
I was in the market for the World Raid and my dealer told me to wait for the 2025 models before I decide. Now Yamaha threw the wrench into my thought process why I was looking at the WR. Lower tank, not sure how much it will be different to current base T7, but that was one of the reasons for WR. Better suspension than standard, for my weight I would probably never have to upgrade suspension, now Rally is the same as WR currently. WR has more fuel capacity, but with the changes to base model and mostly Rally version, I might have to think harder what I want out of my T7. Seems currently the WR was not changed at the moment. Might have to consider now WR vs Rally really hard :) Thanks for the video
there are no signs for the updated WR. I currently have a 22 WR and love it, but i'd love to see the new WOrld Raid, as a top specc'd Tenere = CC, Tubeless options. Ill be the first to upgrade.
I wouldn't trade my 21 T7 for the new model. I bought it because of the understatement in electronics. Now they are moving in the wrong direction. If they'd spent their engineering time for saving another 10 KG on the bike, that would have been the deal for me!
Looking forward to seeing you give the new Rally version a go…if I remember correctly you should have 100k on your current bike by then, curious if you feel it is an improvement and good value. Safe travels and thank you for bringing us along
The only sensible upgrade wrt my WR was to get rid of the small stupid wheel to select screen etc. In Tunisia the sand stuck it so not in principle I could no longer even touch the abs… 😮. Wheel changed under warranty but still a weak point. Aftermarket: I changed rims to be tubeless, got a high mount exhaust, and mounted abs button from a czech company besides better skid plate, mirrors, hanguards and stronger springs in suspensions. Going to keep it as it is now for a long time… 😅
Is the tank plastic now? That would be a move in the right direction. Assuming they haven't moved the fuel lower to make less tippy. Cruise would have been a game changer
It looks pretty good. I bought a '24 this year though. I don't want the ride modes or drive by wire nonsense or traction control. I sold my KTM on purpose because of all that useless crap I just always turned off. I see no reason to upgrade. Though I wish we got the Rally version with the longer/taller suspension in the USA.. But I did that anyway to my '24. ( added +25mm tractive suspension )
Takker hjertelig, Hilsen Sven
Mine is a '21 and pretty happy with it like it is. However, it looks like the fuel cap is flush now and I would like to have the choice of ABS for just front.
Nice discussion Robert...another dilemma for me!. I got excited when i saw the Extreme..i was going to buy one and swap all the bodywork over from mine, as i did a fab paintjob on it, plus swap over all the accessories. But when i sat on one the reality of such a tall bike is too many sketchy moments tiny tracks...on the wet slippery deck of a ferry etc! The Extreme or the new Rally with a similar seat height would be perfect...mmm, what a nice dilemma to have!. Cheers Steve 💚
I have been waiting, with $$$ in my pocket for the announcement of this 2025. At which point I'd decide on waiting for next spring and grt one, or purchase a 2024 now. The announcement was disappointing. However I'm a very happy owner of a brand new 2024, the last of the minimalist motorcycles. It was a scramble to get one, as there were a few others like me rushing out to get on Monday morning when the dealers opened. I had to go 3 dealers away to get mine!
Looks great for sure.... Love that they tucked in the clutch cover. Could do with out ride modes and other ride by wire features. No cruise=Dumb. However, this could mean (and I am reaching) Just like the Transalp and 800DE that they do not want take away sales from a new larger model with the CP3 Super Tenere? just a thought.
You're doing a fantastic job! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Honestly I am not a fan of the aesthetic changes. The previous Tenere looks sexy... this angular look is much less so. And I am not a fan of the headlights at all... as I am a fan of curves. I also don't want the electronic control features: traction control, and riding modes I don't want, as they are just something more to go wrong with on a long journey, so the older model is more for me. Part of the problem here for us in North America, is we still haven't gotten the World Raid, or Extreme models imported yet. We are still getting the "regular" model as our only model. And this "upgrade" is a downgrade for some of us. I would buy a WR or the Extreme model you get in europe over this new model any day.
It will be interesting what happens to the old T7s on the market now. It will stand out as the last no-BS adventure bike. When the old Land Rover Defenders were discontinued prices went crazy, same for the G-Class Mercs (not discontinued but changed to hobo-town-shopping-cars). On the other hand I don't fear electronics too much. The bike will still ride if a sensor fails and ride by wire has been on cars for years now.
New look is fire, kept the previous tenere style but added some freshness, happy it wasnt completely revolutioned. Bit skeptical about adding electronics. Agree that rally version is the new extreme edition
Yamaha needed to make the exhaust hanger a bolt on , bolt off bracket to the frame , and make it easily bendable so it can be replaced or removed and straightened , maybe it is , lets see, I think about18.5 litres of fuel capacity would also have been more appropriate. Overall a great update especially with the Japanese economy doing so poorly atm , good work Yamaha
Thanks Nomad Sweden for the clear presentation of the good and the bad of the not so ugly new T7. I am curious about the reason for the switch to the ride-by-wire system! The old almost non-electronica approach was a great and refreshing selling point for this nice bike when introduced. Reason for me to buy one in 2020. Why change that to ride-by-wire?? Euro5? Marketing? But heej .... I think the new one looks very good too.... and it is still a bike with a lot of options to personalise it, what I like about the T7. So I can understand the conclusion of Nomad Sweden...
We shall see. Exciting as usual, but also probably disappointing for us on the other side of the pond as we will probably see this in 2026 and the "rally" never.

Time to upgrade? YES for the Kove 800X :) , competition is good.
yea sir kove 800x gone kick axx
Definitly
China 😢
@@motozz8258 Yeah, where you think that the Phone you are using right now was made ?

Does not matter…
Is a good motorbike.
Go try Aprilia Tuareg 660 too. I used to drive T7 for 4 years, tried Aprilia and never looked back. Mostly use it on Baltic TET, so no easy conditions compared to Scandinavia, Finland etc.
What Yamaha is doing? Useless changes, more weight, more Electronics. Realy no reason to by a new one…
Yea a big selling point for me was the lack of electronics in the earlier models. Such a shame.
You got it man! 🙂👍
The next one will be with automatic ride, reverse gear and cruise controle 😵💫
Old T7s gonna be looked back on with fondness for the lack of electronics
I’ll be keeping mine for a very long time
Me too! 👍 Will keep mine till it or I stop permanently.
Nothing bad about systems like ride by wire. These systems are absolute bullet proof.
Ditto
@@Hibbicon No system is bullet proof and the more electronics in anything the more likely it is that things will go wrong.
@@jimigrill Why do you think every modern plane - even car is operated by wire?
I bet there will be Y-AMT version with cruise control like new MT-07. Maybe on new World Raid/Rally edition.
Yes ! They are just selling out the old ones first.
Will be something like Africa twin! Maybe 900 cc👍
Really happy I didn’t wait and bought my 2024 Canadian 50th anniversary edition t7
The World Raid would have been my choice, but with this outlook I will continue with my XTZ750 ST
Cheers, looking forward for the next videos.
Got the Extreme Edition earlier this year, makes sense they have up-specced the Rally to do the job of the Extreme
I just hoped for cruise control upgrade. But it seems not for now
Ahh, more like a version 1.5 😊 Great upgrades, though ride by wire and no cruisecontrol is a mistake or even a bug.
2025 Rally versionen är väl en nästintill kopia av 2024 Extreme? Lite tjockare Hasplåt dock.
What information is it that you have got and from who? Curious..
Yes Yes loving it, especially knowing that Yamaha didn't ruin the Ténéré looks that for my eyes are very beautiful.
Except changing what I thought was the best looking headlights on an adventure bike, previous having more rally raid look
I'll keep my 2024 T7.Maybe a wr350r is coming.
Good thinking!
Im sticking to buying the '24 extreme before end of year. :)
Loved the weight gane justification, speaking for most of us😂
My 2020 Rally is enough for me. But if I didn't have one, the new Rally would it be👌
Go for the Kove 800X Pro and you will never regret about it. It is exactly suited for what you do. Good luck !!
Wow I like the rally look reminds me of the TTR I might have to have two bikes now that and my 21 MotoGuzzi V85tt which is another amazing bike
I am still disappointed that they haven't tucked the exhaust in like on the 660s.
Nice colour for the Rally. Rest is a moderate update. What about the price update? If it's only 100 € more we all applaud. 1000 € more everybody boos. When are you in serious talks with your dealer, Robert? Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
Have made a lot of little things different on my 21 T7 so for now its a keeper since i like simple stuff 👍
Still looks great!
But no tubeless wheels is a shame
Yes mate
Your bike is perfect ✅😎
Thanks ✌️
Got a real gas cap. New transmission gears first three gears. New fork internals, new shock linkage and shock. Lot of good upgrades. April.
I'm waiting to see what Suzuki does with the Drz 400
2024 is all about small ADV bikes. Many new bikes in that size coming. I like
I was in the market for the World Raid and my dealer told me to wait for the 2025 models before I decide.
Might have to consider now WR vs Rally really hard :)
Thanks for the video
there are no signs for the updated WR.
Camel adv will be busy with mods for this one. And MCCRUISE will be getting orders for cruise control.
Hey Robert, if your T7 will worn out you will stick to the yamaha? What about a swedish counterpart? A norden looks quite nice too.
Takker hjertelig, Hilsen Sven
Need cruise control, no drive modes and a detachable rear sub frame.
Magura clutch wouldn't hurt either !
Mine is a '21 and pretty happy with it like it is. However, it looks like the fuel cap is flush now and I would like to have the choice of ABS for just front.
Nice initial review, Robert!
But your legs will be too short for the new T7 Rally!😅✌🏽🏴☠️
First get bike that make you tick. Then adapt :D
Cheers Steve 💚
you let us know what you choose, because i have the exact same problem lol
I have been waiting, with $$$ in my pocket for the announcement of this 2025.
At which point I'd decide on waiting for next spring and grt one, or purchase a 2024 now.
The announcement was disappointing.
However I'm a very happy owner of a brand new 2024, the last of the minimalist motorcycles.
It was a scramble to get one, as there were a few others like me rushing out to get on Monday morning when the dealers opened. I had to go 3 dealers away to get mine!
If I wanted a new bike it would be on my list. But I am still very happy with my KTM 1090.
Nice updates, but nothing that justifies selling mine and buying this one really. I'll upgrade my suspension next spring instead 😏
Agree with you!
Keeping my 21 !
They'll prize my 21 model out of my cold dead hands.
@@sorenmelchior The headlights are attrocious. Made to match the holly ugliness of the new Tracer 9 i guess.
Exciting! What’s your view on the PR7 Robert? At one point I thought you might have been seriously considering it
Did they fix the linkage that made the suspension bad in the previous models?
What's your opinion on cross-spoked wheels?
I am so happy with my 2023 T7
Türkiye videos were very nice, your travel videos are very nice
i hurried up to buy the 2024 version and god i was so right :D
Good video Robert.
Still interested in the World raid
Cheers from Falbôgda
Looks like the 2025 upgraded T7 is coming to the States! 👍🏻🇺🇸🏍️
Hope we get the Rally version too!
I think it's a good mild update, I like it
Yamaha needed to make the exhaust hanger a bolt on , bolt off bracket to the frame , and make it easily bendable so it can be replaced or removed and straightened , maybe it is , lets see, I think about18.5 litres of fuel capacity would also have been more appropriate.
Rally version looks amazing! Curious to see how new flybywire acelerator Will change the bike feel
All It need’s is Cruise, tubeless wheels and more comfortable saddle.
Alright, 4 lights upfront again.Perfect. I was afraid they went to two.
What about the WR version? will there be a 2025 version?
We shall see. Exciting as usual, but also probably disappointing for us on the other side of the pond as we will probably see this in 2026 and the "rally" never.
