Gatekeepers of the West - Visa Policies and their impact on African travelers.
It is hard because Africa has a large number of poor, under skilled, under educated people who would welcome the opportunity to relocate to America and Europe, often with a misguided belief of an easier or better life, and because legal travel has been difficult.
Conversely, it is generally easy for Americans and Europeans to travel to other countries ....regardless how rich they are - they will always return home because there is no incentive to apply for residence..
