I also had a below average experience with intrcity bus. Its mainly because bus owner and operator are different that's why maintenance goes for a toss. As you mentioned my feeling about the suspension was bad and making it worse the bus i travelled had air tank issue. It is definitely not worth for ticket price. In single axle bus I've felt Bharat Benz to have better suspension since it has all 4 air suspension unlike Ashok Leyland which has only rear air suspension. Waiting for final homecoming video !
It's not Ashok Leylands problems Ashok Leyland also offers fully air suspensed buses but many bus operators buys only rear air suspensionbuses for cost cutting and also one thing th intercity bus operators use Ashok Leylands non air suspensed buses they have only a few of them which are air suspension
