Ah, a Biden voter. Inflation is hitting all of us, including corporations. They don’t want to raise prices, but they also want to make a profit and be able to pay their bills, much like we do. It’s like you asking for a raise in order to keep up with rising prices. And then the company you work for has to find a way to pay increasing wages. It’s a nasty little cycle. It’s called inflation, a side effect of unchecked government spending and printing more money, decreasing the value of the dollar. Vote wisely this November.
Haven't started the list yet, but the "Didn't this use to look bigger?" hook reminded me of summer vacation last week. We had a pack of peanut butter Oreos and a pack of Double Stuff Oreos, and noticed that there wasn't much "Double" to the "Stuff," so we stacked two peanut butters, compared it to one of the Double Stuffs, and came to the conclusion that there was almost no difference between a regular Oreo and a Double Stuff one. Shrinkflation is just sad.
Yeah the new double stuff is what the originals used to be while the originals have half as much as before. I remember when the double stuff actually looked like someone doubled the cream of a regular Oreo. It's that way with the Fat Boy ice cream sandwiches, too. They used to be 3/4 the length and almost double the thickness, now they're the same thickness as the regular ones while still being 3/4 the length the you're just getting less for your money.

Shrinkflation sucks! I'm fed up with it! Bring back normal sizes already! I mean, "large" size boxes of cereal used to be regular sized. Now, they call this a "large". Our "Family size" was our "large" back then. And the "Giant" size we have now was our "large" then
I actually found that bagged cereal gives you a lot more cereal if you’re looking for cold cereal and I also found that if you’re looking to buy bigger sizes, you should try either Costco or the one associated with Walmart even if you have to pay a membership fee it’s still less expensive in the long run and I found that out with Costco‘s water. I figured out that if Costco has a basic membership for 60 bucks a year and you buy approximately 20 cases of water with the amount of money that you save between that place and Kroger by the time you pay for 20 cases you are saving the $60 you need because at Kroger the water is approximately seven or more dollars a case and at Costco it’s around four dollars a case so in the end 20 to 22 cases of water from Costco will save you money which means that the cost is very much different and this is just water we’re talking about it might be surprising to figure out what else they give a better deal on
@jeremytoney9367 Bagged cereal may be more cost effective, but most of the cereals are full of sugar and not much fiber or essential nutrients. Shredded wheat is the exception, but it also dissappears quickly. Boxes have a lot more variety, and a lot more fiber- rich brands

19:53 Am a Brit (South Wales, UK) and I gotta say that the change was actually better, as it wasn't overly sweet like having a mouthful of sugar, it became more fruity and can taste more citrus in it now 🍊 It felt weird tasting the US & EU version as it was more sugary sweet than citrus, that I actually asked for my drink to be switched with Coke Zero or a lemonade. (For context I was in a restaurant outside of the UK, and asked the server if I could change my drink as I couldn't drink it after a sip. The nice server switched it and took off the Fanta)
I totally understand what you mean, I never drank Fanta before but tried it in 2019 and liked it. I didn't realise that it was less sugar only in the UK (where I live in West England), so when I visited Florida and bought a bottle thinking it was the same, I literally choked at how sugary it was, I made my sister try it (she likes sugary drinks) but even she didn't like it, saying "it tastes like a just had a tablespoon full of sugar" 🤢 we checked each drinks sugar context percentage after that, so we didn't get a repeat of the sugar Fanta.
I’m old. I’ve watched all the name brand stuff change so much over the years. I no longer buy name brand if I have any other choice. Most non brand products taste the same. Not everything does but I’ll take the loss. Some companies produce their own products. However, other companies pay food factories to produce their product. Then it is just stamped with the name. This is the same food sold by supermarkets under their own name. On top of that, over the years, recipes have become public and licenses have lapsed. This allows supermarkets to make a lot of candy and other products almost identical. Considering the price difference, I’d rather go with supermarkets. Especially Aldi. Their food is pretty amazing.
Not just shrinkflation, various flavors have disappeared as well with Fanta being the worst offender of all. About half of the flavors that Fanta had prior to 2022 are straight up gone.
In my country since this year it is illegal to make changes to product sizes without warning the customer about the change! Basically the retailers have to put out big warning signs for a few months if there's a change in any products' usual packaging size. Like : WARNING U GET LESS FOR THE SAME PRICE! Not sure about the recipe changes.
Shrinkflation. That actually started during the 2008 crash. I remember ice cream companies jumping on that first. 1 pint 160z went to 14 oz think it dropped to 12oz now.
Usually a certain global affliction gets blamed for that. Most TP manufacturers took about 3cm off the side of the roll while keeping the length intact. This kept it the proper "puffiness" while still skimping the product.
2016 is mentioned a few times here. Shrinkflation wasn't preparation for things to come, it was a response from businesses to things that had happened the years prior. But, yes, they did keep the same prices and size/quantity in most all cases.
This was a good one! So many things going on in life these days, I have to say, I may have only noticed the Breyers and I don't really eat some of the others. For example, I could never get on the Nutella train, just something about hazelnuts that I don't care for and I could never understand why it's called chocolate, it definitely doesn't taste like any chocolate I've experienced. Loved your comments in this one as well! 👍🥰
Canned tuna salad was hands down my favourite sandwich as a kid, but in recent years it's been more difficult to make more than one sandwich per can. Realized why when I looked at the weight. It was 8oz per can way back when, then shrank to 7oz, now it's only 5. Curiously this does not afflict certain retailers as the last 12pk of canned tuna I purchased (sometime last month) was 12 cans, 7oz each, for roughly the same price as 12 individual 5oz cans.
My mom was happy when companies removed artificial dyes from products. She has an allergy to them. I have always noticed when something shrinks, changes flavors, etc. And Domino's has always sucked and still does.
Nescafe in the UK have adulterated their powder with "filler" materials. it's now only around 60% coffee. The rest is a stabilizer and synthetic cofee flavouring.
2:39 Gatorade actually introduced the hourglass bottle over 4 years ago - it was just available in different stores. Gas stations and vending machines and it, but grocery stores had the original. It’s only recently that it’s become the only bottle available
I love the Coca-cola story because most people who didn't know which was which preferred New Coke, but people hate change and so rallied against something that most would've liked better. Imagine a car company making their cars quieter and more energy efficient and then having people whine about it "not sounding the same"
12:45 I know. Products advertise “no artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors” or “whole grain”, but it doesn’t make it any more nutritional. Some of the removals may be better for health; but it doesn’t really make that big of a difference. And unless you’re going to go all organic, you’re going to get all of those things from other sources
13:17 yes I could tell the difference between the old and a new mac & cheese actually tasted difference two years or so for the color switch was made. I’d say around 2012 or 2014 was a flavor. Change in texture be amazed. & this is coming from song with both of TBI and epilepsy.
I won't eat KD. My packaged pasta of choice is the President's Choice white cheddar and macaroni dinner. It's better pasta and there is no food colouring added to the powdered cheese mix.
I can tell the difference between old and new kraft Mac and cheese. I miss the old stuff, I don't care about color but it changed the taste too. It's not in my head either because I noticed it before I realized it had changed.
One thing I noticed from McDonald's, and probably other fast food, is that when you add a ingredient like Mac sauce they charge you $0.25. but if you minus the ingredient like Mac sauce, they don't lower the price.
In the 80's to the early 90's. The Fanta came I. Juice boxes and the taste were really good. It was my favorite juice back then. But suddenly, it went from juice to soda, and the taste wasn't the same. I still miss those juice boxes 😥

So many items you can make from scratch or your own version that most people will stop buying the rip off product and make their own. Companies will lose out in the end and the consumer wins!!
Toilet paper rolls are much narrower. Now only 4 inches wide from 4.25 which shrank from 4.5.. some are now even narrower still. I wouldn't notice except for the huge gap in my toilet paper holder. There used to be no gap.
Most of the foods that took out the food coloring, replaced in with a plant that's was in the nut category. Every day we go to the store and find annatto added for color. This sucks with a family member allergic to nuts. So if anyone has ever felt sick after having something that has it in it and a nut allergy, now you know.
Oreos, I have a lot to say about this tiny biscuit. Why on earth they were allowed to be sold inn Australia I have no idea. The thing is we have better tasting biscuits and cookies than those tasteless things. The only 1 good thing I will say is they are so small that the kids don't get a massive sugar hit.Honestly we have a better chocolate biscuit called delta creams.
I'm here in the U.S. but agree with you about Oreos! Most cookies/biscuits and what is being sold as bread here are not that great & yet they continue to add more unhealthy ingredients, fillers & preservatives while reducing size & raising prices. Enjoy your Delta Creams!
I just checked the bag of Cinnamon toast crunch and sure enough trisodium phosphate is an ingredient. Trisodium phosphate is also a powdered cleaner. I used to use that to clean floors!

You should move to the Nordic countries then.
AND..
I'm old too 🦋

Magnum ice creams! Thank you again for exposing the greedy shrinkflation techniques so many companies have employed
Well, that seems like a great idea! Hope it happens here
Not just food, but everyday items! Don't believe me? Check out your favorite paper products!
Sketching paper for sure!😠
This is a perfect example of how infinite growth isn't possible. I wonder if companies will ever realize this before society collapses.
Shrinkflation. That actually started during the 2008 crash. I remember ice cream companies jumping on that first. 1 pint 160z went to 14 oz think it dropped to 12oz now.
And chocolate bars. Definitely chocolate bars... 🤬
I work at a grocery store, I see these changes firsthand, because I see a LOT of it.
A few years ago. Toilet paper rolls became, much more narrow. Our toilet paper holders. They could only store 4 rolls, now they store 5.
My problem with shrinkflation is how every bag of chips now a day are half air when I was a kid the bag was filled top to bottom with chips
What they should do is completely remove dyes and get rid of at least 50% of the sweeteners
Does that make it cheaper? This stabilizer sounds expensive
Cheaper than coffee grounds is all they need
Honestly, I think that people should decrease the size of their stores at this rate of decreasing items.
@@surferdude4487 i’ve quit pasta since the change of the mac & cheese recipe so to each their own
The new one doesn't taste good😫
I can tell the difference between old and new kraft Mac and cheese. I miss the old stuff, I don't care about color but it changed the taste too. It's not in my head either because I noticed it before I realized it had changed.
Yes I agree with you the taste got real bad way back, also the package says it feeds 4 people? Guess I am 4 people now! 🤣🤣🤣
One thing I noticed from McDonald's, and probably other fast food, is that when you add a ingredient like Mac sauce they charge you $0.25. but if you minus the ingredient like Mac sauce, they don't lower the price.
Serious question, if you breed a tomato and a potato together, is it called a “pomato” or a “topato”??
I like Pomato, but why base it on a union 2 words, why not a new better name? :3
pomato
Pomato 🍅🥔
Tatos... you can grow them in Fallout 4
@@XFlaviousX I haven’t played that game yet
In the 80's to the early 90's. The Fanta came I. Juice boxes and the taste were really good. It was my favorite juice back then.
But suddenly, it went from juice to soda, and the taste wasn't the same. I still miss those juice boxes 😥
Thanks for the amazing videos as usual! I can always count on this channel to release quality content!
17:00 They removed regular doughnuts from Ireland last year.

22:00 Pizza Hut in Asia. 23:25 Dreyers??
25:10 I miss Campbells😢.
My brother bought a case of airheads and I swear to God there's like an inch of dead space inside each of the wrappers.
back in my days...I mean like early 2000s.
I always had trouble to open them because they were always filled from top to bottom, leaving no space to open it without ripping the candy itself.
Sugar tax in the uk was passed on to consumers anyway not paid by the producing company
21:28 I don't buy ready-made pizza, I make it myself at home
So do I ...Tastes so much Better!
... Good for you?
@@SFiz-b3f also .... good for you?
Some of us do notice. I have stopped or greatly reduced purchasing almost all of these products.
Maybe I'm an anomaly, but I've always hated Twinkies.
Same. I have never been a fan.
Same
So many items you can make from scratch or your own version that most people will stop buying the rip off product and make their own.
After a long day, here comes be amazed
14:51 “Not only is Oreo americas favorite cookie”
My dog named Oreo: Huh?
15:18 “Oreo’s owners Nabisco”
My dog: THATS NOT MY OWNERS NA-
7:12 Woody Harrelson is not going to be pleased to find this out!! 😁
You do not have to buy these products, if people stopped buying them, then the manufacturer loses not us
Oreos, I have a lot to say about this tiny biscuit.
If all the big companies just listened to feedback about their product, I think the world might be a better place.
Just so you know anything that’s mass-produced in a box is dangerous like oat meal, cereal, milk, macaroni and more
Glad I live in Australia. We have really strict regulations about our food. Even our fast food.
Did you know th at general Mills put Tri sodium phosphate in cinnamon toast crunch, lucky charms ect.
I just checked the bag of Cinnamon toast crunch and sure enough trisodium phosphate is an ingredient. Trisodium phosphate is also a powdered cleaner. I used to use that to clean floors!
Remember Breyers vanilla use to the 3 ingredients, cream , sugar and vanilla bean

Add Girl Scout cookies to the list. Today they are more expensive, less cookies & more packaging. I stopped buying them for that reason
I also quit buying them, way to expensive. Most people who can afford for their girls to be in girl scouts can well afford to pay for them to go to camp without expecting me on social security to buy the ridiculous over priced cookies.
Things will continue to have Lesser and Lesser Quality and Quantity until, the End.
These are the End Times after All. Didn't You Know?
$5 for a can of Pringles god damn that is very expensive in Australia
22:44 THAT'S NOT YOUR SLOGAN BEETCH
Every change connected with ice cream makes me mad especially the smaller packages for same price.
Thay should raise the prise. They make us more skinny and healthy
hello be amaze
Uhh, if the new Twinkies had "left the recipe alone", they would've gone bankrupt again within a year or two because the high cost/waste of the old kind was losing them money. Is that somehow a better option?
We aren't stupid. We KNOW!
In Finland Fanta made the drink 50% shugar and 50% artificial sweetener so now the drink is absolute cancer yuck.
I remember having a giant Toblerone 😂
Dude… I was wondering why Kraft mac and cheese went from yellow to greeny yellow. Everyone thought I was dumb but now I can confirm I’m not
good thing I never eat subway
I don’t either 😂lol
I'm glad to see you mentioned the grip in the gum packages. I'm pretty sure I made a comment about that in your last shrinkflation video 😊❤
I don't like Oreos, i can't understand whats the appeal
Do you like anything else that is similar?

It's funny how everyone (including me) says "Reese's Pee-sees" instead of "Reese's Pieces." 🤣
Ya I think that particular product is trying to teach you how to say the name correctly, since technically they should sound the same. If you use the other pronunciation that is fine though. :)
🤤... I don't get what you're trying to say..
That is the pronunciation, phonetically. Why is it supposed to be funny?
@@SFiz-b3f "pieces" isn't pronounced "pee-sees" as in "pea seas," it's pronounced "pees-siz" as in "peace" with an "s."😉👍

*The financial market is pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.*
I feel Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and.exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or a licensed expert in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields
Interesting, This is superb! Information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro Investor?
Mrs Tracy Britt Cool Consulting was my hope during the 'bear summer' last year. I did so many mistakes but also learned so much from it, and of course from Tracy.
the first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional.
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Tracy Britt Cool Consulting)
Also speaking of CHEAPER to make. One day I decided to buy my favorite granola which was triple berry (dried strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry) but to my dismay they replaced the raspberries with disgusting sugary ass cranberries, ADDED some kind of seed (sunflower or something idk) AND THEN replaced the lovely granola with granola CLUSTERS! Making the ONE granola mix that HAD raspberries obsolete, underwhelming and disgusting. 🥺🥺 They took away the one thing that made me happy because cranberries are cheaper. 😢
stop saying first and stop posting about baller
This is cursed
Is that a baller in the sky?
Calm down and go away

I haven't seen the "baller" comments, but I'm pretty tired of seeing "first" all the time.
I have not bought or eating any Toblerone since they did that stunt.
What do you mean? I had a Tober a month ago and it was the same exact thing as it always was.😢😅😊🎉😂❤
They were like this for about a year back in 2016. They were forced to backtrack this decision after public outcry.
This video made me hungry. Anyone else?
You should move to the Nordic countries then. Boy oh boy do nost of what we eat still look like most remember them, but then, the Nordic countries have always said eff it and do the literal opposite of everyone else. I know this, because i'm a Swede, and the food here haven't changed much at all, if at all. We do have this weird habit of having a bit extra salted food, or mix foods with different tastes, like Marabou chocolate with popcorn. Marabou is a Swedish brand, which actually tastes a hundred times better than Swiss and Belgian chocolate. I've tasted American, Swiss and Belgian chocolate, and they just don't taste as good
I saw a new video the other day from a McDonalds patron. In it, she showed that inside the bun was a 'meat' patty that was noticeably thinner than the single, measly, pickle chip. My very first job was McD's and they were busted for using kangaroo meat and still claiming their product to be "all beef burger'. Minimum wage was 79 cents per hour, so you can see that this is nothing new. I haven't eaten there for over 50 years.
My daily affirmation is this: God I receive your written and spoken promises for my household. with an influx of $112,000 every month God has kept to his word for me hallelujah!
