Yet, you joked about how you are similar to people in North Korea because you consume one meal pre day by choice. If anything, your comment was even more insensitive because you "pat yourself on the back" on how much food you have to make the choice to fast. On the otherhand, many people in the world don't have the luxury to decide how many meals they choose or not choose to eat.

It was the same for the Irish after England invaded and took their land. They exported all the good Irish products and left the people with potatoes and cabbage. When they came to the U.S. Irish labor was cheap so many were hired for household staff. People would hire them to cook and then get mad when they didn't know how. I have lived in poverty in my life, but I looked like a rech woman compared to this. When I was in college, I lived severa hours from home. I earned $135 a month and my rent was $125. I qualified for $10 a month food stamps. I would buy a big bag of rice or potatoes and a couple of lbs of hamburger or pork chops which I devided into smaller servings. This had to last me for a month. I worked at the dollar store and toilet paper was $1. My boss took out $. 25 a week to pay for it. But even though I thought this was tough, comparatively seeking, that was just an inconvenience I still had a roof over my head, and all utilities. And I find it extremely irritating that all the ads that played during this video were about some weight loss gimmick or another. Boy if that isn't a smack in the face.

@@777mantikor Socialism and communism are not the same thing. Socialism and socialist ideas are on a spectrum, for example universal healthcare and college tuition coverage in Europe. You can still own property and get paid/rewarded for your hard work. Communism, however, is on the extreme end of that spectrum, and the reason communism does not work is because people inherently want more for themselves and do not want to be equal to others, and by having a power enforcing people to be equal, that power is by default creating discrepancies between people and creating state-enforced socio-economic classes.
Of course, North Korea is not actually a socialist paradise...there is nothing about the way of life there that makes it a paradise, just like putting "democratic" in their country title is a joke.

This is how many people had to eat a hundred years ago before modern refrigeration and transport... you ate what was in season and preserved things for the winter time. It’s a shame... not only that some people in our world need to stretch their food this drastically and then here in America, we are literally eating ourselves to death! Humans aren’t designed to eat meat EVERY meal, EVERY day! It’s also disgusting how much food gets thrown away here and sad that there’s no way to get it to North Koreans and others who desperately need it! I was literally homeless in the states, but could walk around the food court at my local mall and pull half eaten gigantic portions of food from the trash.... STILL WARM! It’s amazing. You can literally be homeless here but have a full belly and be fat! So damn right we should be grateful and try our best to find a respectable charity or any way to help others who are less fortunate than us. I live on a boat now and own my own business, but I’ve never forgotten what being homeless was like and it’s made me much more grateful and empathetic to the plight of others. Some people will never get it. And I have never had to go hungry! I can only imagine!
