    Thank you Hans! What an awesome overview in digital audio, very compact and informative. You touch so much topics in a short time. Very well done 👍. (Too bad the room was that noisy, not ideal with people talking and walking around. Something the event can hopefully improve next year)

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Since I cannot appreciate how each "problem" affects the audio hitting my ears, I rely on your suggestions of what sounds good to you in selecting my playback equipment (Raspberry Pi with Allo DigiOne sounds fabulous, per your past recommendation). I do change the sound with a BBE 282iR Desktop Sonic Maximizer to better suit my 62 year old ears (which have high frequency filtering built in due to age-related hearing loss). I think the BEE uses phase shifting in the higher frequencies, so when you spoke to phase shifting I took note of that.

    Lovely presentation, not easy with all the people passing back and forth, it cleared up a lot of points I was wondering about, the question I ask myself is do I need streaming, and for me not at this moment in time.
    Thank you Hanz

    Hi Hans, thanks for sharing this-great presentation. I do have a follow-up question. If Digital remains robust prior to conversion to analog, then wouldn’t a Bluesound Node (theoretically) sound exactly the same as an Auralic Aries G2, if they’re both plugged into the same external DAC?

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      If that was the case, would I have bought the Aries G2 while I already had a Node? The data stays in tact but along with it comes noise, phase noise and a dirty ground plane. The Auralic delivers a far cleaner digital signal and thus confuses the digital to analog circuitry less. It's like lettuce: it stays lettuce but if it isn't washed prior to being served, the sand in it spoils your meal.

    I have an EE background and still so thoroughly enjoyed your talk. It's a great consolidation of key information made digestible. Rare indeed. 🙏

    Disagree with your opinion regarding NOS, and your summary dismissal of it as an audiophile solution. Since the images are ultrasonic, any distortion in the audio band is due to intermodulation distortion, which is entirely in the analog domain, and will vary considerably depending on the analog components post DAC.

      Let's agree to disagree.

    What is a bias? It's when I call a poor quality product: a poor quality Chinese product. Are there excellent quality and sometimes even not as expensive Chinese products that could be found? Do expensive Western-build products exist which are of inferior quality? Can a product's price be reduced not because of child labor but because of excellent engineering solutions applied to technological processes? We must use good electronic filters if we strive to get closer to perfection in audio. But we also must filter our psychological biases to strive to be better human beings.
