When Thor described some of the issues with his car and how he could directly feel those issues while driving. It reminded me of Wreckfest, and a particular round where I finished the race with 0% brakes and could only rely on the mechanical parking brake to slow the car down.
I never noticed that my entire playthrough of the game. Either they don't actually do that in most games, or they do it in such a meaningless way it's unlikely to notice.

I believe Something's Moving makes them worse by not only making them more frequent and appearing in higher numbers, but they don't just go after light sources. They actively seek you out as well.

I live in the PNW, and there is something about this game that feels deeply like home. This game is really really well done and I can feel all the love that was put into it
The accessibility stuff is awesome. I was playing this game on what I call my Goblin PC, it's cobbled together out of spare parts and used parts and packing tape and cardboard. I used parts from five or six different computers. Just throw it all together until the FPS are happy. i7-4790, GTX 1060, 16GB DDR3, three different SSDs at 200-250GB each that used to be boot drives back when that was still fashionable, big 1TB hard drive, that sort of thing. Anyway, when I was picking up a compatible mini ITX Motherboard from a random guy's home for twenty bucks, I went "hey do you have a monitor by any chance? doesn't have to be good, 1080p and I'm happy" and he did indeed have an old Syncmaster from 2009 for me for another ten bucks. It was probably a really nice screen fifteen years ago. But it's not a really nice screen in 2024. Angle and contrast are atrocious. Even at a perfectly straight angle I can see the edges discolor. The absolute bare minimum of usable screen. All that is to say, I deeply appreciated the "brighter nights" and "ultra loot highlight" settings. There was no way I was gonna find any loot at night without those. Not on that screen. Oh and part swap. Got frustrated trying to apply parts without taking the old part off six too many times and just turned that on. So good. I understand why it's not the default but I got frustrated by it and didn't even need to install a mod for it!!
3:21:10 your fear of mannequins, in games at least, is a good thing they tend to follow pretty ominous lore unless they are just in specific situations, like a store, or a mock-up set
I don’t like crafting games, car sims, first person experiences, open worlds are usually a negative-like everything about pacific drive should be a turnoff for me, but I feel like I have to play it.
I just discovered how awesome these streams are at making my home office feel like I'm working with other people. Just now learning about the OST... this is the second OST I've ever wanted to buy, the first being the Queen Of The Damned OST 😂

You had a really interesting and inspiring talk about Pacific Drive with the developers. I saw the original stream only for a few minutes and thought why not try the game. I now have completed the story and it was really fun to hear the story about the mechanics and ideas about the game.
Bro, thank you for everything. You've made me start to learn coding and the other advice you've given. I wish I would have been able to watch the stream, but I was asleep when you did it. While I've been learning coding, I was curious about what language you use and where you learned it. Thanks for inspiring m!
2:16:30 When I played this game for the first time I unironically played this scene out like a horror movie. I was on edge and driving real slowly, and when the lights cut out I immediately came to a dead stop. Then I slowly turned my head towards where the light had been coming from. As soon as I looked at where the light was the explosion happened.

theres a few things that have multithreading pre-1.20.x multithreading will become more desirable, especially with how terrible mojang is with optimizing the game i mean, we have literal droves of mods to optimize the logic of certain aspects to improve the performance, including disabling certain achievements that check your inventory every x ticks, stopping or reducing collision checks for entities that dont normally need it critically, these fixes improve the performance, without causing a noticable change in the way the game plays
something like those "pride" stickers shouldnt exist especially when you consider the entire reason behind BLM (not what people wanted it to be, but what it actually was) and if you consider that the difference between things like "pansexual" and "bisexual" is literally just a difference in preference, but "mechanically the same" along with the fact that things like "agender" literally do not exist and are simply headcanon it usually ends up turning into a "you vs me" situation where they not only either dont like/attack "normal" people but also each other who dont fall under the same "flag" and anyone who wishes to rescind their previous opinions for completely personal reason source: ive talked to some of them, and youtube has no shortage of people being bullied by "priders" for certain aspects that arent within their specific sectional "pride", so not only can it become racist, but its already bigoted for no reason, not even a bad one... and to distract from this fact, they try to call others "nazis" and "bigots" for calling them out on this
