I thought the idea of having Kraven in a live action Spider-man movie would be great. However, the standalone origin movie format simply isn't working unless it has the word 'Venom' in the title.
I actually have MUCH more faith in this film than the previous Sony comic book movies. It actually looks like it could be pretty fun and bad ass, with a lot of practical stunts instead of just a CG slopfest.
Sony villains origin stories are the equivalent of Disney live action: Innecessary. Also, people can't criticize the first if they support the others. And yes, Venom sucks, even the first one. Studio can't compromise and make them villains... The Penguin is a recent example HOW to develop a villain and not being ashame of what ĥe is.
😂 Spot on mate, it's not looking good at all, they're trying to get people to watch it before the reviews tell them not to bother. I kinda wish I saw deadpool and wolverine on day 1 but everything else I've missed I'm glad to have not wasted my time lol
I agree about the two trailers. The first one made me think: 1: Da Comrade, has Russell Crowe not done this accent before? 2: why isn't he the main character? 3: Oh. That's why it's red band. 4: Cop out. It might actually work if it was Vixen or Animal Man. But it;s not. Second trailer was better as didn't show the origin or his father very much. But first one still puts me off. I didn't see Madame Web because the scene with her talking to the girls in the trailer felt like it was trying too hard to make the dialogue hip. Think I made a good choice.
I have no desire to watch a Spider-Man character that will have nothing to do with Spider-Man. Also small complaint I feel they took away his Russian accent because well Russia 🤡

Additionally, this film has a TERRIBLE release date. It's gonna get buried by Moana 2, Sonic 3 and The Lord of the Rings.
