TEDxUWI-Learie Joseph-A Comedian not a Joke

Trinidad and Tobago comedian Learie Joseph shares the journey of life and comically illustrates how perseverance can help to overcome boundaries.
TEDxUWI 'Beyond Your Limits'
TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It began in 1984 as an annual conference devoted to Technology, Entertainment and Design -- hence TED -- but TED's reach and its scope have become ever broader since then. TEDTalks cover science, arts, politics, global issues, architecture, music and more.
We created TEDx as an experiment we hope will nurture the growth of a truly global TED community. We're supporting approved organizers by offering a free toolset that includes detailed advice, the right to use recorded TEDTalks, promotion on our site, connection to other organizers, and a little piece of our brand in the form of the TEDx label.
Events can be held in homes, workplaces, schools, universities or public theaters. They may last just an hour or extend to a full day, consisting of a dozen people or several hundred. The possibilities are endless! Choose your theme, your location, and the recorded TEDTalks from our website. You can even invite live speakers of your own if you wish!
All TEDx events will have the following in common:
+ Ted's format of short, carefully-prepared talks on a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder -- and to provoke conversations that matter.
+ Inclusion of at least two recorded TEDTalks
+ Lack of a commercial, religious, or political agenda
+ Free admission (although a small contribution toward costs is permitted)
+ A short introductory video in which TED curator Chris Anderson explains the TEDx program

This needs to be aired on public TV. There are many in our society who need to see this. It broke my heart, but in the midst of his struggle, he was able to come out on top and disprove his detractors. Thank you Learie for sharing this with us. And for those who are growing up in similar circumstances, please be encouraged. You are somebody!! You can make something of yourself by the grace of God.
