    Maybe I’m alone in thinking this but...if you ever move could we get a 2 hour time lapse video of you just moving/boxing games?! Really enjoyed that PS1/PS5 time lapse with major song hype. It’s always fun rearranging the game room and finding the best way make room for the collection, but also highlight and showcase your favorite games and items. Awesome video, Blink, really enjoyed this one!

      Thanks my friend!! I think we could almost certainly get something like that going on. Although to be honest, I am NOT looking forward to moving lol

    I have a similarly tight and dense game room and drilling additional holes for the ikea/atlantic/whatever furniture with pegs is also a solid way to go. You just need to make a template to drill them reliably so you're not drilling holes at different heights and having wobbly shelves. I've always had the same problem with inefficient shelving. One way or another there's always a gap that's annoying. I tend to buy the gigantic collector's editions as well so a lot of it for me is Tetris-ing them into wherever they fit without putting weight on the boxes and damaging them from stacking.
    In an unrelated note it's also a good idea to flip the shelves to help work out the bowing if they're the type that aren't indented on one side. Hopefully one of these days they make shelving for media like this that isn't insanely expensive but also doesn't droop down after like a year of having weight on them. PS1 stuff in particular loves to give shelving the sag.

      The bowing thing I for sure need to do I just always forget haha. This would have been a good chance to do it too, so thanks for the reminder!
      Drilling new holes is honestly probably the way to go, I'll have to do some measurements and see how it works out for the shelves I have here.

    Loveeee this kind of video, so satisfying! I thought something felt different and this confirms it!
    Q’s:
    1. What’s your ideal solution for wall space competition between posters/wall hangings and games?
    2. In the future would you prefer to have all games for parent systems together? Ie all PS series, etc.
    3. What’s the most annoying system to organize?
    4. What are some of your favorite special editions? Either in terms of game and the provided items, or just coolest swag?
    5. Would you consider streaming room orgs in the future and then upload?

      oooo all good questions! And so funny cause I knew you had come in but not said anything about the small reorg, so it still got to be a surprise for you :P

    This is such a relatable video. I'm always subtly tweaking a shelf here and there for optimum use of my limited space. And it's never perfect, so the endless cycle of rearranging never ends.

      I enjoy the puzzle but it IS never ending. I don't show it in the video but my Gamecube, 360, PS2... basically half my other systems are also at capacity haha. It's a fun struggle but the real solution is just buy a second house.

    Some questions for the possible rearranging/Q&A video!
    1. What do you miss most about games from the late 90s/early 2000s compared to now?
    2. Do you have a particular game or handful of games you have fond memories renting from Blockbuster or a similar store? Maybe a game you took a chance on and it really surprised you.
    3. What are you looking forward to most about the Switch’s successor console? Console features, games or something else entirely!
    4. Do you have a go-to gaming soundtrack that you listen to that helps you relax or maybe you listen to while going for a walk/driving?
    5. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being “no chance” and 10 being “I’ll be in line for that!”, how likely are you to buy the Switch 2, or whatever it might be called, day 1?

    It's a nightmare we physical collectors all have to face...
    I did some rearranging of both my PS2 and PS3 games a few weeks ago and straighten them up better. But it means I would have to have my PS3 games in front of a row of my PS2 games obscuring them. I have them sitting on a top shelf in a closet.
    Also, I have the same or similar rack that you are using for your PS1 games. Those sliding holders do their job well when there's not enough to fill a whole row, but they take up space when you need it and I wish we could easily remove them when needed.

      I've seen other ones where you can pop that thing off so not sure why they insisted on forcing it, but yeah it can definitely be handy. As you can probably tell from my room, I just get all my shelves from thrift stores and stuff to save money, so I always just have a random smattering of whatever I can find.

    Great video and who doesn't want to hang out with the moogle light?
    My question for a Q&A video would be is there a series you actively or would like to retroactively get platinum's for? (Example own every plat for every God of War or Yakuza games)

    Also, as far as reorganizing goes, your life will be much better/easier if you have your games catalogued in Gameye, Collectorz, or even Pricecharting. To be honest it's still a nightmare unless you leave shelving space open for new games. Having to do the shelf shuffle where you move one game box over from shelf to shelf to fit a new game at the top gets pretty annoying. At times it's tempted me to just give up and have stuff out of order.

    • @Blinkoom
      @Blinkoom  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yeah for sure! I use Backloggery to catalog all my games so I definitely have a list of them around. It's funny you say that it's tempting to leave out of order because basically every system I've done a collection video for on my channel (PS3, PS4, NES) are all still out of order :P I got too lazy to put them back into the proper order after I recorded, but I'll get to it eventually!

    The young PS5 games stuck their PS1 elders in a dark corner to forget about them. The video gaming hobby truly is a microcosm of humanity 😂

      Pretty sure there's never been a successful culture focused on "respecting our elders" right? Old bad, new good, end of story?!
      Don't worry though, that assisted living corner is a really nice place and has lots of amenities.

      @Blinkoom  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For sure! A lot of it depends on genre so lemme know what games you generally like! But overall I definitely recommend Gravity Rush, Uncharted Golden Abyss, and Persona 4 as some of the bigger more obvious choices! Other games I liked were Severed, A Rose in the Twilight, and Steins;Gate! But there are a ton more too :P

      @@Blinkoom I am a big mystery/visual novel and platformer fan. In terms of what you've recommended, I have played P4 and GR on ps4 and they're great games! I'm currently playing Tearaway as my first experience with the console. I have seen Severed and Steins;Gate and they definitely peaked my interest, I intend on playing them next! Are there any good mystery VN games you could recommend?
