I did this to clean the grease after I ordered it from the cmp. Holy Jesus was that a a pain in the ass. Those springs are no joke.

Yes, good idea to clean and re-grease the CMP rifles. I've found CMP usually adds grease, but often I find there is older grease and carbon or grit left in some areas. Good idea to clean it all out. Plus you can inspect everything and see what parts you have. Congrats on your CMP rifle!

Thanks for your video! I am having the hardest time getting the pin back in that goes through the trigger and trigger spring cylinder. I get it lined up and push hard on the pin, even tried a few taps with a rubber hammer. I do notice you are not pushing forward on both the trigger, and sear; you are only pushing on the sear. Maybe my trigger is not where it needs to be. I made sure without the spring that it all fits together.

You're welcome, glad if the video can help. When I pull on the sear, I also wiggle it a bit to line up the hole. Before placing the pin, you can practice by looking to see if the holes are lining up and how pulling motions on the sear affect the alignment. The pin should go in with just finger pressure. No hammer on the pin should be needed. Now, if you are having difficulty inserting the pin, you may want to check the condition of the pin. If you run your fingernail across, it should be smooth with no obvious deformation. Some pins are damaged and are difficult if not almost impossible to press in under spring load. If the pin is deformed, then suggest just getting a new pin. They are inexpensive and a new pin will also help with smooth trigger action. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the advice. After three more tries I got it in with just finger pressure. I think I got lucky playing around with the alignment.
It was worth it to get the rust off the hammer spring.

Yep. What he had said. Never use a hammer and always check for pin being hosed or hole/part alignment.
