    • @HaI0gen
      @HaI0gen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes! Technology should get out of your way. Technology should adapt to your lifestyle, not the other way around. A thinner, lighter laptop takes a little bit of load off your shoulders and maybe lets you stuff an extra T-shirt into your carry-on. But would you rather bring that extra T-shirt than have your laptop available and powered-up when you need it most?
When I can't have my cake and eat it too, I'd rather just eat it. That's what it's for.
It makes me so happy that they stuffed this thing with the biggest battery I can legally bring on a plane.

Pe tri in their defense, you can’t exactly give a proper “first impression” on a piece of sophisticated tech until you’ve actually used it for a few weeks. i don’t think video in particular is really a “hows it holding up” video as much as it’s a first impression video.

The best thing about the Touch Bar that nobody talks about is if you get an unskipable ad on TH-cam you can drag the slider to the end of the video using the touch bar and it’ll skip the video. Whereas normally if you tried to do that it won’t let you fast forward the video to the end.

As someone who uses a gopro hero 8, a dslr and a compact camera. I can say that its just easier to plug it in directly then keep switching sd cards...what a bother to keep opening your devices to get to the sd card instead of just plugging usb-c in. For people who say if you photograph a wedding you need a lot of storage, my sd cards are all 1TB and you won't fill it unless you have 15 batteries

  • @jasonyoung7455

I have a MBP 16 (base model) and now I wish I can return it. It has very serious thermal issues. The computer would frequently freeze due to overheating, sometimes even right after it boots up with no apps running in the background. The CPU load would go up to 100% easily because of overheating, and the fans would run at full speed. Even browsing the web would be sluggish. In fact a lot of times it is even underperforming my 2018 13" macbook pro. I did some research online and realized that this is actually a very common issue among all macbook pro 16 users. I know some people really love this macbook but I just want to tell people my experience so they know the risks before deciding to buy it. Don't base your entire buying decision on these TH-cam review videos. These videos are great but they mostly serve the purpose of entertainment. Instead do some thorough research on sites such as Apple's support forum and see what actual issues and frustrations other users are experiencing.

I bought this computer, upgraded as F. After a week, it would blast the fan and restart itself before fully powering up. Tech support determined that it needs to be looked at by a technician but coordinating service appointments during a pandemic, let alone being without it for a while, is not the experience I signed up for when I bought a $5000+ computer. Returned for refund, prob gonna get a Windows option that doesn't have to travel from China to get to me.

I was using a 2016 MacBook Pro (the base model) which I love but it wasn’t able to keep up when editing photos. I mean it did it’s job but it would lag a bit. I decided to try this new 16” MacBook and wow what a difference!! Btw the speakers are ridiculous, best speakers I have heard on a laptop so far. If your thinking twice about it, don’t. Yes, the price is high but it’s totally worth it.

Then with the new generation of MacBook pros in 2016 that’s when they introduced the butterfly switch to the pro line of MacBooks 👍.

I'm wondering if manufacturers sticking to 720p webcams is because they're trying to cover a large range of up speeds people may encounter, without having to do any down sizing. 1080p at 60fps probably needs a good 5mbps up speed. Not everyone has that.

The more expensive model 32GB (if you have enough to splurge bc it’ll help), and the higher end graphics card 5500M.

Not for people from developing countries. In the Europe or the US, a macbook pro may cost a person 120 to 150 hrs of work but here in India its 6 to 8 months of salary. Thats huge....!!!

2015 MacBook Pros do not have the butterfly keyboard. I have one that I use for everything and it works amazingly well still.

You do have access to those shortcuts without the touchbar. There's almost always a key combination you can use that will also be faster, since you're not looking down.

I even have a hard time to upgrade my base model late 2013 retina 15 inch with a more specced out 16 inch 2020 model.
I'm really looking for a reason here. I code, edit 1080p content sometimes and watch a shitload of YT videos/series/movies.
Screen of this one still blows any other regular laptop out of the water though and I still got the magsafe charger :)
Only major complaint I got here is that 256GB SSD (which I can still upgrade but also costs some money) is a bit small but on the other hand forces me not to fill this thing up rather than storing my important files on my home servers. 8Gb of RAM is maybe also worth to be upgraded for or the fact I don't have a dedicated GPU.

Hello , I have a question about battery maintenance in the long term.
I almost always keep my Mac connected to a power source in order to prevent the battery from draining and thereby keeping the battery charge count down ,
I assume doing this will over the years take the count longer to reach 1000 charges, which is the life of the battery.
Or on the other hand am I actually harming the battery by keep it on charge mostly and its better to use the battery in a more organic and natural cycle ?
    Apologies for the confusing question.
what is the best way to get the most out of battery life ?

Well ... you were halfway right. Apple introduced the butterflys in the 12 inch Macbook (non-pro) in 2015. They started putting it in the Pros in 2016.

@@r0mediddy yes. I'm looking to get the 13 inch but that keyboard is a huge, huge turnoff for me since I type a lot. I heard Dell is releasing a new XPS 13 and it seems pretty nice, I might give it a shot.

JPavilion2 let me know if you think the 16 inch is too big. Especially the feeling of the distance from the edge of the laptop to where the keys begin (palm rest area).

Yes it would be nice to have two usb-c ports on the charger, but to be honest the macbook act as a really good charge hub. Every usb-c port support PD so everything quick charges. I would prefer more usb-c ports on the mac it self.

Can't wait for the keyboard to go over to the other MacBook models. I have a late top of the line MacBook Pro 15" and I LOVE the keyboard, and it's still going strong.. even have my 2008 original aluminium 13" and it still works....and it faster than the laptop I use at work... which I might just bring in..to actually get work done...

    • @leesf481
      @leesf481 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The macbook's display is not pressure sensitive, so unless u somehow mod it yourself and write codes for it, which is very hard since apple doesn't like people tinkering with their software and hardware, there's no other way

Content creators aren't the only kind of "Pro" who use the MacBook Pro. A good number of professions using this laptop don't need an SD Card reader. That seems like a somewhat random complaint, up there with the likes of a lack of mini-HDMI or Sony Duo card readers. If there was a missing port to complain about (which I wouldn't, I like that having thunderbolt essentially leaves it up to you to choose the ports you need), it would be USB A.

Laptop makers have come to realization that light and thin laptops compromise on durability and quality. Consumers have also notice that they don't get everything they want when they buy a very thin and very light laptop because of the sacrifices that are made to make them like that.

I really wish Apple would stop being obsessed with making their products thin since it is more practical and better for thermals with slightly thicker laptops.
It's took them 4 years to finally admit that the _butterfly keyboard_ was not a good idea even after so many people complained and how hardware failure? 🤦‍♂️ Better late than never.
Also, I never understood why they removed the physical ESC button.
Apple definitely need to have more ports.
For a supposed _Pro_ device, even these improvements are a bit lacking. For the price you pay, Apple should do more.

I still have doubts on longer lasting situation. You cannot rely on any mac book up from 2015. All of them have key board issues and serious thermal constraints. There is no up-gradable component. All youtubers constantly keep switching from one macbook to another within months and telling people that it will lasts you years! Mac books are only suited to "TH-camrs-PRO". Real Professional work flow is not always like rendering videos and editing photos.
