Love them. Very versatile. Have seen them live twice and they were incredible. Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophila are 3 of the best bands to come along in many years. If you want some chaos you really need to check out Hanabie as well. The entire Japanese music scene is phenomenal, especially the metal/rock genres. A huge amount of incredible musicians and bands are there.
Nemophila - "baby blue eyes" flower, "Rurikarakusa" in Japanese; grows in N-America and is appreciated in Japan (see "Hitachi Seaside Park"). The band was formed in 2019, originally as a "session" brought together by... Mayu - the vocalist (ex- Lipstick band); Haraguchi-san - (ex- HöLDERLINS band) bass, backing vocals, was Mayu's friend and colleague from Music College; Tamu Murata - drums, backing vocals, one the most respected session musician in Japan (countless bands), with also her own original carrier; she's also the wife of Akira Yamaoka, musician/composer, known especially for his videogames OSTs, in particular for "Silent Hill"; Saki (ex - "Mary's Blood" band for a decade, "Destrose", and others), she's a "young sacred monster" in J-metal) guitar, backing vocals, and... Hazuki (KOIAI "Dark Indigo" / Li-sa-X, Disqualia bands) - guitar, backing vocals; both, Saki and Hazuki have a lot of experience. Unfortunately, Saki left the band in march 2024, after the Budokan concert, thinking that her contribution was enough after more than 4-5 years, pursuing her - successful - solo carrier, and then she became a member of Like-an-Angel band. Crowd activity? Depends on the venue. Moshing at Nagoya Electric Ladyland last month where they had the space. A few weeks ago in a small club there was extreme moshing, wall of death, crowd surfing. Mayu did a couple stage dives. Caught her once. During the next band, one of Mayu's favorites, she and Haraguchi-san came out on the floor and participated with the crowd. There's a photo floating around showing Mayu crowd surfing while Haraguchi-san moshes.

Great songs that show the softer side of Nemophila. 'Ama-Te-Ras' is a quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well. ‘G.O.D.’ is their newest song and 1st song as a 4-piece band And don't miss their many covers...they are all great as well!
8:12 to 8:20 - welcome to "noise gating". A topic of sound engineering. It is easily done during production, to contribute to a studio recording. It is way more demanding during live recordings. In this case (as it is studio sound track and live video track), it is a refreshing feature of this video.
100 percent agree Angel. I honestly think they are the most diverse out of the well known bands out of Japan. But of course I have not heard every band either haha. But yes Nemophila can play anything. Had a chance to listen to part of their new song coming out Christmas day which is called Brainwash. It is their most brutal heaviest song to date. Honestly makes Zen seem Zen haha.
Why is no one moshing? Venue rules, most likely. Japanese venues tend to be pretty vigilant about enforcing venue rules, and Japanese audiences tend to be much more respectful than American audiences.
From here I would suggest 'Rise' Live for straight down the middle classic Nemophila or 'Zen' Live for their heaviest song with nearly 100% harsh vocals. (Saki has since left the band amicably and does her own solo stuff) Nemophila have a new album coming out in January too so look out for new songs.
Regarding moshing - that is not really a Japanese thing. The only two Japanese bands I know that have moshing are Babymetal and Maximum the Hormone. And both do moshing controlled by the artists, in particular Babymetal, that only has quite harmless circular pits. Maximum the Hormone are wild though. More than wild.

Im sure they wont dissapoint you.
Lol that's saki guitar not a 7 string bass
Yeah I meant guitar. Idk why I said bass.
Nice one McFly!
Awesome reaction!! Please react to more Nemophila, Rise , Oiran , revive
When the time comes and you react to Hanabie you need to see them play live. At the live shows there is always a mosh pit. I seen them live and it was almost nonstop duriing the show. Sorry no mosh pit but it's live Hanabie (Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now) th-cam.com/video/2FutnRPHj20/w-d-xo.htmlsi=irhw5vjJ1al8F2qz
Sugoi! Yes, their young. However, Mayu (lead singer) and Tamu (drummer) are moms! Arigatou! 🤘🤘
If you like this you really need to check out “Zen” by them! It’s reeeeeeediculous! And the audio truly is live for it.
LOL! You're only the asshole if no one else joins in.
Loving Nemophila, creative high energy metal (and others) played with real joy.
You need to listen to the great Japanese bands of the 80's and 90's. You'll understand their influences better.
Regarding audio overlays. This video is cheating. Its a studio track, just as Linking Park. That is not normally a thing Nemophila do. I know of no other video. If you want to hear a real live video that is good and where they go hard, I recommend Zen. There is no clean singing there.
Too much stopping bro
Thanks for the engagement!
