The first dress looks like the princess dresses I drew as a kid. Very much a little girl's fantasy. Not my style now, but I get the appeal.
I thought it looked a bit old fashioned like the Victorian style. Not my style.
I don't think bows on the boobs is a good look. And the skirt looked like curtains.
The dress she chose for her actual wedding was sophisticated and so so elegant. suited her the best. It was sweetheart champagne lace A line. just gorgeous

Surprise! She chose neither. She chose a gown without sparkles in an ivory satin almost champagne. Ruched bodice, sweetheart neckline and then a ballgown, but with floral lace under the tulip ballgown. Johnny wore a suit. Very simple and plain, yet elegant.
I found a description that said her dress was custom made by Stephanie Handler, who designs and makes all Johnny's skating costumes. I was surprised the dress was much smaller and low key than the over the top dresses from this episode. She never mentioned lace either, as it's such a prominent feature on her dress.
I couldn’t find it. I only see articles about Tara Lipinski who was a friend but not manager. 🤷♀️
Well good, because that first dress reminded me of the scene from GWTW where Scarlett eyes the old curtains in the plantation. 😅

I'm really curious to know which one she chose, or if she ever went back to try them on again. I liked the second one, I think Johnny was correct that it fit her figure better, but it was still flowy and big.

This language is problematic. We, as elegantly and wonderfully created/born women, need to stop saying men in woman-face or women's garments make better women than ACTUAL women. We are worthy of love and have paid the price for the flowers due us,.. and thee absolute MAGNIFICENCE we have & create in return!! There is NO ONE more beautiful as a woman than a WOMAN. Johnny doesn't take things so seriously. Nor do I. And, full disclosure, I have NEVER seen ANY drag queen who didn't have more sparkle and wow than I ever will. I say Johnny looked awesome in the dress, I love the spirit of play, and I think he supported his friend really lovingly and well.

I liked both dressed but the bows on the first one, and that split panel thing on the other one needed to go. the bows reminded me of lingerie, and the other looked like it was trying to squeeze in historical romance but the rest of the dress did not match it

Pantomime costumes
First dress was terrible. The bows on the boobs gave the alusion she was taking part in a cheap soft porn movie and the skirt was like someone borrowed come curtains from the theatre. The one Johnny tried was more red carpet than wedding dress and didn't fletter her hips. The sparkly tulle ballgown she had on was the nicest of them all, but was more prom dress than wedding dress. The last one made her look like a cake topper but was better than the first one.

The first dress was one of the ugliest I've seen. Draping, fabric roses, pleats, bustle, rhinestones, crystals, bows, crinoline, corset back. I don't think there are any design elements left on earth to throw on that hideous dress.
All she needed was a lace hand-held fan and a wide brimmed hat.

@@kelsey2333 Yes, it took hard work and dedication to pull myself up by the bootstraps and out of poverty to make a better life for us. My daughter is the first person in my family to get a university education. We see opportunity in adversity and do not squander them. She's an exceptional person who was my chief cheerleader and reminded me why I should never give up regardless of how hard things got. So yes, I will give her the moon if I could. A wedding of her dreams is a very small trade off.

He is just adding a little pizzazz to the show. Usually don't see this, but did see one episode where the mom who was also engaged tried on a wedding dress. It seem to devastate her daughter, understandably. Johnny was just providing comic relief. I thought it was cute, not vindictive in any way as it was with that mom n that other episode horning in on her daughter's day.

I think it's just a schtick for the show. Whenever they have a celebrity in the entourage, the celebrity brings some drama. It's just silly fun.
This guy is a frenemy. Calling her pear and back fat, trying on a dress at her session, and telling her the purpose of the wedding is to be judged and inspire envy? As the saying goes, I’d rather have an enema.
He's nice he's just honest. He wasn't sounding mean when he said she was pear shaped or anything, just stating the facts (we all have to be some form of shape). Trying on a dress was no doubt encouraged by the producers because of who he is and his brand, but I think it's different for a guy than a girl and he was just mucking around.
A pear shaped body type is THE NUMBER 1 most desired shape after the obvious Hourglass body. Someone pointing out that you have a pear shape is only an insult if you happen to live in the twilight zone....

And actually I’m gay too and there are gay men that don’t think it’s okay for men to wear womens clothing. Not all gay men are into drag show/culture nor watch them on tv. Dressing in drag or cross dressing is detrimental to our struggle to show that we deserve the rights as everyone else and are equal. Gay men dressing in womens clothing isn’t funny, amusing or appropriate and it’s very off-putting to majority of people. Celebrities like Bad Bunny, Jaden Smith, Harry Styles, Kurt Cobain, Pete Davidson and so on have all worn fashion that includes dresses and skirts for magazine spreads or to events. All these men are straight and can get away with it because they are ambiguous and the styles they chose to wear would look good on a man or a woman. The wedding dress this guy decided to put on and twirl around in showed his shoulders and sagged because its was made for a person with breasts.
