Got a 22' Super Chief Limited. Loving it. The 2 thinks that sold me over the HDs I test rode were the 116 TS engine, which I found to be more engaging than the M8, and the 4" TFT touch screen gauge which is awesome. Thanks for the great vid! 👍
I always hear Harley guys say fit and finish. Really? They have finish but definitely not fit with the exception of the new Sportster. The Indians are all sculpted fenders and tanks and seats matching the handlebars from front to back. Harleys are just parts bolted to a frame with no thought other than the logo on the tank.
Looks like you were on Route 4 or 17 with all that traffic!!! I used to work up there many years ago in Paramus!! You're not lying about the power on that Chief especially in sport mode. Can't wait to see the comparison to your Low Rider.
Went for the 2021 Fat Bob. Better fit and finish, dealer network (Europe) is very rare here and I want as little technique as possible... always had problems with it on my bikes. But it's still a nice bike!
You might want to use the trigger on the left control pod (right next to your index finger) to cycle through the different display screens. It makes it much more easier than using the touch display.
Went to an Indian dealer today & I mentioned the gas tank moving & his response was basically, the tank moving is a good thing being rubber mounted because over the yrs that you’ll be riding it it’ll last longer with the wear that a motorcycle would go thru as opposed to it being on tight & not moving all the metal on metal contact would start to wear on the tank. Idk about you but that answer seemed like BS, you’d be more knowledgeable on this, what’s your take?
Honestly, if you fit a touring seat of the bike you will get away with long distances. While not as comfie as a tourer, but it is very doable. I wouldn't tour on my FXLR with the stock seat, but with the HD Sundowner seat, you can ride all day. How do I know? Because I know.

As to the tank... I am pretty sure there is something that can /should be tightened. Indian would not make it like that. I have the scout bobber. Everything that sucked about it has been corrected. Seat, shocks, headlight, and exhaust. Now I love it more LOL... I want a chief but not if I have to give up my bobber for it :)

Good to see u back on the Chief again since AZ. I have same standard DH chief. Love the bike, but I'm not sure if Im sold on the drag bars. I'm 5'11" and its not bad but feel somewhat leaned over. I bought a Saddlemen Step up and pondering whether to do reduced reach bars, a riser (not seeing too much in after market parts)or maybe even swap out bars for the 5" mini apes that are on the Bobber to feel little more upright. Not sure if you rode the bobber yet, but any thoughts on your reach comfort level vs other bikes you have been on? Maybe its no big deal and I'm just getting used to the new positioning compared to my previous Guzzi V 9 Roamer. Thx
Do you have trouble with a lot of heat coming from the exhaust? The dealership does not have any suggestions, I’m one of many that are experiencing this issue
I got that exact same bike. You're right about that seat. I added a passenger seat so I won't slide back. I also did a stage one. I put it in sport mode and realized I definitely don't need a stage two. The thing is a beast.
How good or bad is this Indian motorcycle? Grasshopper, only the future can answer that! Depends on many things including lasting endurance mechanically, styling, market acceptance an Indian company endurance too stay together?
Good video. I have a super chief limited with stage 2 and lloydz tune plus a few other extras. The suspension needs to be adjusted for your wight and style of riding. Mine was barely acceptable, then I adjusted it as per the manual and now with the shock preload properly set, it's easily an all day ride. Apparently it came adjusted for a 90 pound person lol. The tank "wobble " is due to the chief line and maby other Indians have tanks mounted on rubber gaskets. Ride safe and enjoy the ride.✌️
having had 2 Indians, they do need to step up their seat game.. but if that's the worst i can say about a bike, i think i'm ok. besides, the Scout Bobber (my first Indian) is a city/hooligan bike, so the fact that the seat is terrible is forgivable. if you want more comfort on the Scout platform, the standard Scout is a better bet with the same engine.
I would have to take one out, but I think the Sportster S might be just be a little in front. Same price, better tech package (but not by much) ,tighter handling and a newer engine. The advantage to the Chief is that it is easier to set up for distance touring while the Sportster S is a nightmare. If that bike had the Challenger engine in it I would not own a Sportster S. The issue I have with both bikes is that the Bobber styling on the rear limits touring customisation. I don't think either are perfect but for a city with winding hills surrounding it within 30 minutes ride in any easterly direction, the Sportster S is better. If I was two hours away from the fun stuff I would definitely consider the Chief.

Indian's got the leg-up on Harley for liquid-cooled, mid-sized bikes. But for heavier cruisers like this? I'd take a LRS any day over the Chief Dark Horse. The only thing the Dark Horse has over the LRS is the Ride Command features and display but that's just not enough to compete with the LRS IMHO.
Chief already won the Big Twins race. Indian is sweeping podiums all across the range. Bagger Racing, dirt track, hooligan racing, and the Chief taking the win with the Big Twin race. Extremely tight chassis with very responsive brakes and low mounted engine. I work at Indian and love riding Harleys still but there's a reason we're getting non stop HD trade ins.

Why is HP number (not even the hp/tq curve on a graph, just a single number which tells nothing) and quarter mile time the only metrics guys use to buy a bike?
