Great review again. Although the car handles well with its suspensions, I am struggling to like the new shape. I still prefer the previous model, which had a presence on the road. People were buying this Q7 because it was big, bulky and looked mean. With this new model, they (Audi) lost it in my view... The first time they presented this new car in video online, 'I thought oh no! why have they done to this car?' My view has not changed much unfortunately. I think that there a lot of people sharing the same view...
i do not understand why so many people are picking on the new design of the Q7 .. to me it is harmonious and will never look outdated even in five to ten years.
I fully agree with the statement that the Q7 is the best full-size SUV if you are looking for comfort, space en still being sporty. I did have the Cayenne, Macan and XC90 but they don’t come even close!

Good review... I think this redesign is awful. The last one had a better flow of curves. The tech is great in the new one as well as the weight loss. Shame it looks less premium than it should.

I had to get used to the the new Audi- Design, but the Q7 wears it much better than the R8. Nice ride, sadly a gas powered SUV of this size makes no sense in germany, just go for the V8 TDI.... :)
I would get the diesel too, but since I film for an international audience, I guess Audi gave me a TFSI :) Still its pretty quick even wuthout the diesel torque punch :)
Probably is the most advanced suv in the segment but I would pick a XC90 over this anytime. Looks way better and is not so far away in all the other aspects plus it costs less.
+unanutriainfame I'm totally a Volvo fan as well. Even like their SUVs, so stylish and elegant froms. It's a pity they've stopped producing the C30 beauty, and the one and only my favourite sedan, Volvo S40, so cute and comfy. Ah, there are just things you love no matter what :) And forgive me if I'm wrong, but we're left with practical S60, not-so proficent in terms of value for money S80, and a totally new beast S90.

It is still too big in my opinion. I see them on the road quite often now. Naturally around town, where such a car makes the most sense ;-) Personally I'd rather have a nice, big station wagon. Smaller SUVs are not bad but those big ones are not my thing. Unless we're talking about the grand daddy, the G ;-)
Nice car, just don't get the design decision on the grill. Really can't stand the high gloss chrome edge they put around the grill, I understand you can make it black, but it's so unnecessary!
7:33 omg. The size of this thing. You're over 1,9m tall I believe, and this thing makes you look average. I don't know what these car manufacturers are thinking. You can't offroad such a huge car, because the roads/paths are too narrow, and city driving won't be a pleasant experience either.
+stoneeh My friend uses it to travel with four people and laugage for several weeks, so I guess that's really the purpose of a car like this, long distance driving not off roading like with a Land Cruiser or G-Wagon ;)
+Thrawn The Tesla isn't actually very comfortable and much much firmer. I wouldn't buy one if I wanted the most comfortable ride. It's more similiar to a Porsche Panamera on steel springs

+Baerchenization Honestly, I don't get them either. The car is barely more comfy that a usual sedan, but it's like two times bigger for no reason. The seats and head space are almost the same, unless you're planning to ride wearing a bowler hat, like you-know-who, when he created first automobile (which I understand why was big due to cabin size). And honestly, ground clearence is not an issue for most normal sedans unless you live in a village, which makes usage of business car pointless (buy Toyota FJ Cruiser for that purpose!). Finally, if you hit a 10 ton bus with either SUV or sedan, the result will pretty much be the same. In general, when you see a tiny little woman riding a two-ton bulky SUV, it feels like 911 limo, it's just wrong :)

I tried to pitch my wife the idea of considering one and so far it did not go well. ;-) To me it seems Audi is heading towards a 'recession phase' in its design. Q7, A4, Q2 (just from the pictures shown from Geneva) all look worse than their predecessors at the time of the launch (or just bad in case of the Q2).

Might be interesting to compare a Q7 with a 750ix or S Class in terms of driving, comfort, luxury etc. the weight should be similar.

I'd always go for the diesel, bur this car here was pretty fast. Way faster than the GLE 400 felt at higher speeds

i agree with you, whats the point of sporty SUV? SUV suppose to be practical and comfortable for your loved ones not to race in it like a maniac.
Porsche and BMW can make a sporty SUV, but I prefer the comfort of the Touareg and Q7. The Cayenne on air suspension is a great car too
