It could just be me, but before this update I tried a couple of things, just having fun, like letting a car roll down a hill in gear, clutch pressed with ignition on and lifting up the clutch. To this day, it did spin up the engine, but because of the two way ignition it wouldn't stay on. Now when I was just exploreing the update found out I could do it, and was having a lot of fun for some reason. Love how this game went from the early free to "play" body physics demo to a full realistic car game!
that'll be a lifesaver for drifting. i literally had the button next to the parking brake bound as ignition cause i would get lazy with the clutch and kill the motor.
I remember when 0.26 added the 3 ignition stages in the gameplay settings, and it didn't really work, and now it actually does, and it's really cool. Also the Stambecco finally broke the rule of most BeamNG vehicles not having gas caps (except T-Series I believe)
The Multi Ignition system is yet another one of those "features from Rigs of Rods that took forever to get into BeamNG" because RoR had two different bindings to control ignition and starter. Plus, that opens JBeam functionality potential in the future such as dashboards doing the illumination and gauge self-test when you turn it on or even vehicles like the Wentward doing the self-test beep that most commercial vehicles have. Another thing to note about EVs is that setting regen braking to max enables "Single-Pedal Driving" which lets you come to a stop and stay stopped without ever touching the brake pedal outside of emergencies.
Not joking. I waited 10 years to get a good stick shift simulation. Beamng does this really well. I bought the game in 2015 and still getting free updates! You rock devs!
I have a small correction, so this is just my experience, in the video you said that its a new feature if you press f7 the car spawns at your camera position without reseting the car damage but it already was a feature, in an older update it was by default but then in a new update it wasn't default anymore but i just set it in controls back how it was. in controls you can set if its going to reset the car damage or not.
I’ve spent this update lowering the off-road buggy versions of cars, putting F1 tires on them, stiffening the springs and turning them into open wheel race cars lmao.
I swore that F8/F7 would just teleport your car without resetting it and they changed it again. I remember because it was the old way to flip cars before you could pull nodes.
No I definitely remember that as well. It was like 2 updates ago, like 0.24 or 0.25 when they made it reset. I didn't have to flip it in that way, but I remember it didn't reset the damage. So happy they brought it back.
Man the devs keep impressing me with every update... I swear there is only one thing im hoping this game gets (which will eventually) and that is decals for dirty vehicles. as you stated in another video muye.
Not going to lie, for 0.28 I'd love to see some newer variations of existing cars (I.E modern LeGran) or a modern D series. What could also be cool is the "First Gen" version of the Bastion?
MuYe? Sincerely from the bottom of my embittered heart.... *thank you.* You saved EVs for me. Single Pedal mode was just so annoying to deal with. Being able to set it to Coast at 4:02 literally made me enjoy driving Vivace E again. One-pedal mode had taken this previously playful, fun, and tossable little car and turned it into an understeery pig harder to handle than a Covet Pointless. Setting the regen to Coast restored that familiar handling balance, plus provides efficiency benefits by letting the car free-roll when desired.
Imagine one of the desert stages. You get an hour to set a run time, and you get to use both an excavator and a car for for that hour. So you get to smoothen it out a bit in places, in order to set a faster time in the end. But with the risk of crashes and damage, how much of the hour do you want to be excavating? Grinding the stage might win more time? I'd love to see 4 players take each other on with different strategies. One might first be driving the exavator to the end of the stage to make changes, others might excavate the first part of the stage to save travel time, and one, may just be driving the car over and over again, as it resets with full repair.
I would love to see more Engine Tuning options, just like the ajustable ECU's from Fueltech for example.. You could have some fun making aggressive cars
Imagine how cool this game would be in the future when they add vr mode were you can actually drive it like a real car like starting the engine or doing some drifting but im pretty sure having the car flipping down a hill will cause motion sickness
I'd really like to see deform-able terrain simulation in the game. So taking those awesome offroad vehicles well...offroad would be a ton more fun, doesn't have to be as extreme as say mudrunner or snowrunner but something similar. It's the only thing really missing from the game.
It's insane how much they improve the game with every update, given that it already is miles ahead of anything else in his specific room of features. Just the engine noises aren't matched by any other game, and no one even talks about that...
Heres one more thing way down the road that i just thought of that would be cool. I wonder what Beamng would be like in VR. getting to go through the tunnels at Utah, or crawling through the jungle would be pretty epic. Not saying that this should come soon though.
If they add an option to remove the box thing at interactive button. I think that would motivate someone to create a plane that has real life start up. Good luck turning it on

You missed a very important change: the improved Cops AI. I always test it in Freeroam -> Italy -> Crossroads -> Activate Traffic with Cops (under AI in the radial menu) -> Turn Right onto Fastello -> Escape from the Cops all the way to the Airport (takes about 10mins of absolutely mental while-knuckle driving). The following Cops AI improvements were made: 1) they will now attempt to block you when you try to pass them 2) they will kamikaze into you less often and with less speed 3) the two Cop cars forming a roadblock will NOT drive away creating a hole in the middle through which you can escape that roadblock.
Im hyped for beamng drive comming out in full version. What i mean by that, beamng is still in alpha version and who knows what they will add? Maybe it will be the new assetto corsa but with ultra realistik car physiks and crash pyhsiks.
Honestly I do not think it will ever get out of Alpha. It's been in development for ten years now, and they haven't figured some essentials, like tire thermals, although that might happen next year. I wonder how long we have until the devs start leaving it for different projects
All this game needs is like an actual monster truck. Something to absolutely crush cars when you run over them that can still go offroad. Something along the line of the APC mod.

something I noticed, at least I'm pretty sure it was new in this update, was that the way the steering acts while driving is more realistic, it doesn't just return to center, it springs side to side idk how to describe it but drive in first person and you'll see what I mean was using a controller if that means anything
BeamNG could do with better-looking particle effects. Such as dust, fire, smoke and car parts on impact etc. Smoke and dust should be Volumetric instead of spawning what looks to be sprites of smoke and dust particles. Ilja Jusupov made some impressive effects for Assetto Corsa with his Custom Shaders Patch. Perhaps they should take inspiration from him. Not throwing shade at the hard work the devs at BeamNG have done. It's come a long way since I remember its inception back in the 2010s. And it's good to see that they're still working on it and have it feature-rich. Hope to see the game progress further from here.

The Procyon Centauri mod has a sunroof and is dev-quality, you might be interested in that

Every vehicle that isn't automatic (or has a DCT transmission) requires a clutch to start if you aren't in neutral.
They also added animations to shifting in manual cars which really awesome.

theres an actual new d-series config, it is sort of a trophy truck, and another config in the piccolina.
Maybe the devs will add machinery in the next update and a map in beam.
An excavator is actually possible since the 0.26 hydraulics update. Somebody "just" needs to make a mod for it
