1 feature no one thinks about is scratches. When a car rolls over for example, the game does a pretty good job of demonstrating body damage but scratching can add so much to the realism.

Not going to lie, but warning lights and sounds and tire thermals is quite a good idea for a game, makes it even more realistic.
Edit (no not because of the likes on the comment): Sadly, those who wants to see airbags in the game, devs said that they won't add them, and probably there's reasons for that:
    1. There's no humans (or testing counterparts) in the game to do it
    2. It would've been pointless.

Tbh, I think it's just a matter of time to these features come. Because BeamNG Drive devs love little and realistic details, and they also love to listen their community. Yes, it would be nice to have the things you said, yes, some games have these features like mud physics, but knowing how realistic everything is in Beam, the team wouldn't implement any of these features if they are not ultra realistic. The problem is that the more realistic they are, the more ressource they use. That would mean that lower end PCs and even mid range PCs would struggle to keep decent FPS with these features enabled. Still, technology is evolving pretty fast, and Beam is still in constant development (with major updates), so I have hope for the future!

BeamNG does have Tire Thermals, but it's not that well flushed out and still is one of the things that's pretty outdated. I remember back in like 2015-2016 we also had tirewear, where as you continue burning the wheels in a burnout the tires would eventually pop, they removed that at some point, probably cause it would cause lag.

Some new modding tools and new tutorials for beginners like having a cube on wheels as a template and more.
Radios like car radios like you add your own music and they work realistically like real life in this game.

2 things I would love to see is more interaction with the world, I understand it's a driving Sim but having houses you can enter or garages you can open and shut would kinda make it fun for role playing like with what me and my friends do, and second is VR headset support, I feel like that is a simple fairly simple request to have a VR camera in the car. Not asking much Just where you can see from the driver seat and look around. It would probably run awful unless you have a powerful pc. But it would be so nice using with the wheel. This game is my favorite game no matter what, and I will always love it.

Developers said in an older beamNG documentation that dirt accumulation would be added eventually. It was in one of the documentations on tips for creating car textures. It was saying more less then that if one creates a layer for dirt and scratches to go light on it so that when they add it later it will not be too excessive.
I also would love see deformation. I experimented with normals of tire tracks in mud replacing the skid marks in game. So that they were always on to simulate it. It did not look as good as a parallax shader I seen in other games however.
    Great video BTW!
Deforming terrain is my number one wish list item.

Absolutely love how you've showcased everything by using edits!
I also 100% agree with everything listed, I hope one day the devs are able to implement them all :D

i think they should add more realistic effects and fire burns the car

Mud and snow physics would be fun but it would have to be a settings option because many computers would probably not be able to handle it.

Dynamic weather, increased crash particals, dirt and snow, scratches would all be great to increase immersion.

Ok, ok, but, all of this wouldnt be possible without... MORE OPTIMIZATION
for the love of god, the game starts lagging when i spawn in *6* cars, most open world games (that feature cars) have tens of cars at a time (of course, i do understand why beamNG cars cause more lag but still)
All of this should still of course be added, but the lag it would cause should be taken into consideration...

dont forget about wheel radial blur

    @clutch44444 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Tyre tempratures and terrain deformation are the most important I'd say, those 2 things would put BeamNG very high on the simulation driving game list

Id say add scratching damages to textures on the car body

man tire degradation as well would be perfect

I don't want this because I like the sterile, clean look of BeamNG. The priorities should be 1) fixing grass which is clipping through cars 2) fixing terrible graphics popups.

I think another great thing would be if a car is cold then when you start it, it takes a bit for the engine to idle down. It’s just always it starts and goes down around 1000 rpm.

I like it all. Really. But the dirt one, I think it would kinda suck unless we had a working car wash or a sponge for the walking mode.

What about, tire wear, more realistic fire (doing cosmetic damage to cars), weather settings and cycle, and working convertables.
