  • I am in the process of replacing the speakers as well as the subwoofer in my 2013 Accord EXL. It's the 7 speaker sound system with navigation. I'll be adding a separate amp for the sub. As many might know, it's necessary to disable the ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) feature because you will get annoying noises thru the sound system as the ANC detects more boom from the new sub/amp setup. The ANC is not a "necessary" feature, but rather a luxury feature that Honda has installed to theoretically counteract any boominess from the noises the car makes that might be transferred to the cabin. Anyway, after exhaustive searching thru different internet sources, I felt that I would like to shed some light on what I believe to be the easiest and cleanest way to disable the ANC. Hope you follow it and that it helps.

My apologies for some of the weird camera angles. First experiment with video-ing with my phone. Also, it's actually called the "Active" Noise Cancelling, not Automatic. I mis-spoke. But, the content is accurate, and I hope helpful. (Btw, after doing this, I don't notice ANY additional noise in the cabin while driving. Honda felt the need to have this feature. I'm not convinced it does much....and frankly, once I'm cranking my new speakers and sub, I'll drown out any noise the car could produce😆)
