Page Bueckers played like a boss in the Overtime. She showed what she has when the game is on the line. However, I am concerned that the four other shooters on the floor with her didn't seem to want the ball at all. Even Azzi Fudd didn't ask for the ball or want to shoot, This team can't be overdependent on Paige Bueckers. They were like that in the early part of the season all the way to the Notre Dame Game. They would stand around waiting for Paige to do something great. Frankly, UConn must play as a team as they did when Paige was out and Caroline was the #1 point guard. Prediction: UConn will lose if they don't give Nika, Evina & Caroline at least 15 minutes each, plus everybody must shoot.
Stanford is tall and experienced. Uconn has Paige and they don't. And don't forget Azzi in all of this. Cool, calm, and collected and probably the best pure shooter in the game. It should be another great game but not sure it can top the drama and excitement of the NC State game.
You need to have Geno on more! The guy is a classic. Truthful to the bone. Inspirational to all his players. Behind the gruff they know he loves everyone of them and that takes his program a long way. Right now it is 5:02pm EST and I am already a nervous wreck waiting for 9:30 when the game will start against Stanford. One game at a time? Nah. One quarter at a time? Nah. One possession at a time? Yes. OMG! Will I enjoy the game? Are you kidding? It will be like root canal without novocaine!
This team CANNOT forget what got them through the season...everyone playing a role/contributing....E*V*E*R*Y*O*N*E. If they revert back to the 'Let Paige do it' approach they're toast before the opening tip-off. (Ladies - are you paying attention! Think Arizona last year). Of course Paige is a key component - no question, but so is Christyn(big time), Azzi, Caroline - OMG she can be a game changer if she's able to avoid turning the ball over! (Freshman jitters). Aaliyah and Liv will need to keep pace with the OB's, which I believe will ultimately determine who wins this game (they have this!) Is Stanford good - yep, but I personally think they've been over-rated all year - look at their non-conference play, they lost to 3 of the 6 'good' teams they played with one of those wins a squeaked out three pointer over Indiana. Pac 12 was sooooooooooooooooooooo over-rated it's laughable. What is it with this Stanford love-fest anyway?! I don't know, I don't see it. Time will tell I guess. That said, they ARE big, but not overly quick. They squeaked by both Maryland and Texas in the last two rounds, neither of which (IMHO) would beat UConn. UConn HAS this if everyone simply keeps playing the way they have during the tourney - smothering defense, 'never give up' attitude and TEAM ball - they have the pieces to do this!
If Uconn had gotten healthy just a couple weeks sooner and had little more time for offense to jell, I'd be much more confident. I still think they will win. No stopping both Paige & Azzi from this point forward.

Women's basketball should be coached only by women?? Geno just prefers the women's game. I think men have outgrown the dimensions of the court: constant dunking, court too short, basket too low. The women's game is just much more interesting.
