That being said, now that she has aired out she makes it really easy for the organisation to trade her. Smith has good value in the market and gives the Fever a lot of options when it comes to improving the roster around Clark, Boston and Mitchell. A good `enforcer` to get physical with the opposition and pound the post when they get a bit too eager defending Clark or, even better a fast shooting wing that can spread the floor even more and really push the speed advantage Clark generates. I would say this whole `drama` is more of a blessing than a curse and allows you to move on a good player in her prime for a piece that fits better with what you are building without any fan backlash.

No 22 just needs to buy the Fever, rebuild during the off season, putting pressure of the referee's to do their jobs better, and find a coach that know what they have, and then maximize their skills and talents. Most of all they need to better protect this asset. When some players step onto the field, their mere presence makes everyone play better. The lesson here is what being a member of a team involves. There is no way a group of skilled players who focus on their own stats are ever going to succeed. Smith apparently wants to be part of a group where she can get good stats. Playing as the big fish in a smaller pond? Trade her as soon as possible; she is going to be toxic.

She has nobody to blame but herself. Smith started the season playing very well. But as others "got with the program," she did the opposite, becoming more and more disengaged. As she became disengaged, her play declined, and as her play declined, she got fewer minutes. You have to wonder how much of this has to do with DiJonai Carrington and Carrington's decision to get on the Clark hate train. Carrington's silliness put Smith between a rock and a hard place - support the team, or support her girlfriend.
Um, she can't shoot. She can't shoot free throws, she doesn't play defense, and she really can't run. On a team that doesn't play defense already, if you're not bringing something to the floor, you don't play. So, if you can't okay defense and you can't really run the floor all the time, there's a nice comfy, cushioned chair next to the fever's waste of space coaching staff.

Poor Free Throws is what I observed. When you get a superstar like CC who takes points, rebounds, and minutes and is very efficient other players like Nalyssa who are not as efficient lose stats in place of wins. I thought NS was a great mismatch against certain teams, but she'll have to give up stats to be on a winning team. She can get points and minutes back if she improves her FTs.

It is interesting that this seems to happen only in the women's league, in my opinion. I'm a Chicago Bulls fan and when Ron Harper came to the team he had to go from being a Superstar Player from his former team that can get you 18+ points a game to become a Role Player to keep up the harmony and chemistry to win another championship. He had to do reduced scoring numbers but made up with his extreme defence which the team utilized to perfection.

No question in the off season there will be some changes to bring in players that can get onboard with CC's style of play and want to win and they will be better for it. They should not trade her, they should keep her and talk things out and use her to share the burden at the paint, I think she is that good, but unhappiness has caused her to under-performed this year

Honestly you people are blowing this all out of proportion. Smith was just expressing her feelings that she didn't get much play time. Mainly its because she is often in foul trouble and not making her shots. Professional basketball isn't about giving everyone equal time playing. It is about winning. Grow up.
Temi needs to start and Nalyssa can come off the bench. Temi is the superior defender and hustler with good post moves and complements Damari' outside sniping.. Smith sits in the 4Q.
Oh come on , it's an easy decision. She can't sink a free throw to save her life, can't play defense, doesn't hustle, obviously she is not on board as a team player, and her lover plays for the team they will most likely face the first round of the playoffs. Obviously you can't trust her so bench her and drop her at the end of the season. Lost cause!
