He was firing from a destroyed Zaku that only had some generator power and working arm for the cannon. He was basically aiming it like old school artillery, using spotters and correcting based on angles, as he had no more aim assistance and other targeting computers from the Zaku itself. It was basically a makeshift arty position with no real defensive measures, cobbled together out of wrecks and salvage. They were toast if they got hit by anything, so they had to ambush.
It was a "Gundam" made out of spare parts from the other Gundam development projects, and had only Luna Titanium armour on some key portions of the suit, but the Ez-8 actually got up-armoured with extra Luna Titanium on key parts of the suit, which is why it is more durable than the older Gundam Ground-Type that the rest of the team has. The sniper cannon hit the Ez-8 right on the chest, where it has that thickened armour. It is actually the sort of shot that really wouldn't have phased the RX-78-2 all that much, but the fact that there was decent damage on the Ez-8's armour plating shows that it is still inferior to an actual fully developed Gundam.
@@oxenthre7583 - Luna Titanium was never THAT good. Even The original Gundam was damaged by a Zaku cannon. And the Gouf Flight type machine gun ripped apart Luna Titanium armor in the 08th MS Team anime. The Guntanks were made of Luna Titanium and Gouf shredded them apart with machine gun fire. But here in this new anime. the machine gun is like rain droplets. Not even denting the armor. That's simply too much.
Holy fuck, you never really think about it, but the easy eight was literally a retrofit the fact that he used his supply hooks for his backpack to grapple to a building and knee armor to lock in place to fire heavy artillery
Silly Billy gumdrops he has the strongest armor ever crafted for stories it’s called plot armor no Ozo aside now he’s in the easy easy retrofitted to be a literal tank. It also pays homage to the easy eight Sherman retrofitted to be stronger with a more powerful punch and original sherman during the second worldwar.
the chest armour was made out of a scrapped zaku shield, and u can see the hole that the cannon made. it was likely strong enough to stop one cannon shot, but nothing more than one

@@SturdivantRacing126 The plot armor doesn't get much thicker than that. The 8th MS team is one of the best One-year War Gundam's but yeah, the writing is always bad for the protagonist. They are really good piolets with little or no training and they are young. At least in Gundam Wing we are told the Gundam piolets are trained and know their machines. Gundam 0083: Star Dust Memory is the best Gundam in my opinion because the main character Kou Urak is raw, he has to learn, and he never beats the Zeon Ace Gato. The same teams worked on Gundam Wing and 0083 and I think they have the best Gundam stories. The artwork is phenomenal, current Gundam has lost its looks to CGI.

most underrated ms in series, most people remember the standard gouf custom because the iconic battle but tend to forgot battle vs the flight type
Why is the armor so strong? The armor was never this good in the TV anime or movies. Machine guns and cannons damaged Gundams in older TV shows.
