@@AlexOnTheInternet9 Pro tip: I tossed a white sheet on the ground (or maybe it was the cushions from our lawn chairs, I forget!) into the ground to reflect some of the sunlight back onto me. Makes a big difference! I did use ND for some shots though, the set from my Go2 fit perfectly.

I bought version 2 and regretted it immediately. I didn't use it for almost anything. Can't comment the quality of picture in version 3, but it was unusable in 2 without a lot of light, and even then was a bit grainy. After that I wouldn't buy so small camera again. Cheers.
He Jessie, I've been massively dissapointed with it, the image quality is so poor still and the image on the LCD screen is terrible. Happy to have better battery life but it's really overpriced. That being said this is a brilliant video and the best I've seen!! Not surprising!
Thanks Phillip! I haven’t used a GoPro in years and never tried a DJI one, so the Go2 has been my go to (lol) action camera since it came out. For me the quality of life improvements and better picture quality compared to the Go2 has been great. I wish they’d put out a “pro” model that is all black and shoots in 4K and has higher frame rates, even if it ups the size of the camera and case. But for now this camera has a happy home in my kit. Also the flat picture profile is so much more useable than their previous log which always fell apart for me. Admittedly, I never looked at what the pricing structure was on it was 🤦♂️. Final note, I’ve been shooting on my original C100 in most of my videos for the past 6 months or so and up-resing it in Topaz, which I anticipate doing occasionally with this camera as well. Hope you’ve been well!

It did help this footage but not enough to give me the detail I want, do you have your sharpness at low? I've asked for a black GO since V1. I guess they want people to see the camera and not do secret squirrel filming!
Yeah I’ve been shooting in flat with sharpness set to low. I haven’t tested topaz on this yet though, since it’s really slow on my laptop and I’m still travelling.
0:23 The issue that all action cams have, close focussing is impossible. The shot is out of focus. Birds are a blurry mush and the gras in the background is crisp.
that push/pull look in post on 'ever' around 1:34 was subtle and amazing... these are the things i'm always impressed by. Didn't have to, would have been fine with a zoom but, nope, not this guy.
A lot of features the gopro11 has, huh… let’s see what they do for the gopro12 to compete. Looks like the underwater case is for the small camera with the box, if there was a box just for the camera it would be super cool and tiny 😊

The Go 2 has a short and long vibration so i know when it starts and stops. Does the Go 3 not not have the haptic vibration within the camera (i'm talking about only the camera and not the action pod)? I have "vibration" selected in my settings and only the a blue light comes on when i press it... i can't tell when i recording and i don't want to use the pod to verify every time.
I'm still using mine all the time! While other action cameras (by insta360 or GoPro or DJI) might have better image quality overall, the utility of this camera is unmatched!

The footage looks shit. Almost every shot is soft, and downright unusable if you look beyond dead centre. It looks like taken from one of those toy cameras with plastics lenses. Plus the shots in the woods clearly show how often there is drops in bitrate or the software unable to properly sharpen the garbage lens and sensor combo. Look, this size was only good for short obscure shots, and Go 2 was fine for that. It doesn’t matter that it can record for longer like a proper action cam, because the footage doesn’t match the quality at all.
Yes if you want to pixel peep and require super high sharpness and detail to be happy, this probably isn’t for you. But that isn’t how audiences watch videos. I can cut shots into any video I make from the Go3 and 99% of the audience would have no idea, and most of the 1% who do notice still wouldn’t care. The image quality is very noticeably improved from the Go2, and the form factor is much more enjoyable and functional to use. If you need higher quality than this a GoPro hero 11 might be a better fit, but I doubt it.
When tech review videos are ridiculously positive like this, it always make it feel fake to me. I know this is sponsored, but I thought appreciate a more balanced review approach.

Or… the alternative is that I genuinely like the thing. Up until this camera the Go2 was still my only action camera, and this is a big use ability upgrade for me. You don’t have to like it or buy it, but accusing me of being a sellout is just you being a judgemental dink, or whatever idk.

Fantastic review. But you seem to be unaware that keyframing has been available on the Go 2 for some time - it's not a new feature for the Go 3.

Can you plug a mic into it? Like a Lav mic for motovlogging?
I haven’t tested but I’d guess yes! Their 360 cameras and OneRS allow you to input a mic through usb-c. I’ll have to double check when I get home.
