Thanks, I have the same issue same BMW. When my AC turns on. It’s a horrible noice. I shut it off and the noise goes away. My pulleys were replaces years ago, but now at 106,000. It’s time again. What ticks me off is I had the serpentine belt tensioner, drive belt, Idler pulley, and drive belt tensioner all replaced at 84,425 on 2/4/16. One mistake was not using OE parts or genuine.
I have a problem with my x5 e70 is vabrating like the gear box mounting is lose. Does the pulley affect the the engine and gear box to vibrate when is not right
What do you torque the bolt for the pulley to?
SMH, I just found out by cutting my AC Compressor belt. The noise went away. The pulley, AC bearing shot on the AC unit is no good. I watched the pulley wobble. So I cut the belt. The Indi mechanic I went to said smart thinking. I saved my ass thousands. I purchased a genuine AC compressor. SMH $ 864. plus 3-4 hours labor. It is what it is. I keep my x5 in tip top shape. Plus I’ve done well with only 106, 466 miles way below for a 12 year old X5 sport. 2 batteries, 1 alternator, pulleys, water pump, and now a new AC compressor in 12 years. I guess I’m pretty lucky lol.
$800 is what I'm being quoted for the belt tensioner and idler. I'm scared they'll find something else wrong with it too ugh
Why did you re-use the old bolts?
The new part is actually for a different car and the new bolt it too long
where did u purchase the bully from?
I got it on Ebay.
great video, just ordered belt tensioner pulley 11287549557 myself
Awesome, yes 11287549557 is the part number.
