We are almost done installing and are having an issue with the glove box getting that piece out. In your video it does look like you had to turn off the camera and drill a hole in the side but were you able to get that piece out that you drilled a hole in for the USB?
Yes that USB connector was very hard to remote. So you have to keep trying to pop it out from with trim removals tools. It took me a while. Once I finally got it out I was able to unplug it. And then took it out to drill the hole.

@@PlanoHomeHub there is a few things that is wrong here. Check the Androidnis coding for the right version of the screen. Like CC-ID or CCC. There is a third one I can remember the name. I don't have very much experience on "know how" with this stuff but feel I can follow your direction pretty easily thanks to your direction. However, I wanted to know what Android unit you purchased and what size? Is it the 10.3? I want the biggest one that can fit and work with my current CIC unit. I see all kinds online but how do I know how to find the correct one for my car and my Android phone? Thanks for your help in advance, Emmett
Thanks a lot Emmett. I appreciate it. There are a lot of choices out here for sure. The one that I Purchase is from avinUSA.com it if I would do it again I would try xtrons.com. Or Seicane.com The kit that I have is 12.3 I believe that do have a 15 inches too but I can’t remember. The most important thing is to make sure you have the right programming. That very important. Also CIC vs CCC needs to be programmed with the Unit or else it won’t work. Read the reviews. Specially the bad one. Those are the one that counts. The 1-2 start one. Even the 3 star one too.. good luck. Let me know if that helped.
@user-rv6qo5ex9s no problem. Last one. When you are putting that purple cable on the new unit, be careful. I believe it is Fiber I can’t remember . make sure it clips in. Or else you won’t get no video.

Hi there again, watching the video back again, I have a question?. I noticed you drilled a new hole in the glove box for the USB cable to go into the back of the head unit. However, it left 2 USB plugs in the glovebox (yellow & red). What do they do? and where do they plug into and what purpose do they serve?@@CarStomIt. Thank you, Emmett
Is it snapy enough? Does it slow lag the system ? A friend of mines changed to his car but after a month the touch and how responsive it is became laggy
@@CarStomIt YZKong and it was for different Car, but was only wondering if the problem will be Here as well. Which are the most Premium brand for bmw Screens?
there are a couple of them. please make sure you do not by a Non-name stuff. loo for Xtrons, AUTOABC. AVINUSA, is okay but they do not have good customer service. I would try Xtrons first.
Anyone a hint why my system is not really working very well with Siri? I cannot often hear Siris response If I am asking what time it is… Music, calling and Navigation is working
I used a drill bit. Something that is slightly bigger then the head of the Aux cable head. I think it was 7/8. I could be off a bit. So find something just a touch bigger then the head of the aux and use a drill. Start very slowly so you don’t crack the plastic. Use a metals bit because they only take out super small chunks at a time. The wooden might crack the plastic.
You have to Install the Aux cable that came with the Unit . Then you sound should be the same S the OEM. Just connect it to the Aux jack on the center armrest… let me know if that works.
BTW, this Avin customer had an issue with the Monitor mount/bracket making noise as he demonstrates in his video. Have you had noise issues, especially when touching the screen? th-cam.com/video/fgctpBhKnnQ/w-d-xo.html
nope I have not. maybe one of his top tabs were broken. because you have to put it at an angle then put the two screens tha are holding it. maybe something was definetly wrong with his Unit. I do agree that you can only comunicate through email with them. witch I though was a pain.
Never understand why people need the displays in the car, the stock system can work with aux and have display for rear camera, putting the china made things not good idea at all, better to buy some aux Bluetooth device then do this. It will be not visible under sun, have chip plastic that not take high temperatures, have weak cpu and potential to get a lot of problems

@@CarStomIt Thank you so much for your reply. Now I'm just having issues with no sound at all. We used the aux cable. Do you have any recommendations on what could be causing the no sound issue. Also having issues with the backup camera not displaying at all. Do you have specific settings for your unit to make all that work?
@@PlanoHomeHub there is a few things that is wrong here. Check the Androidnis coding for the right version of the screen. Like CC-ID or CCC. There is a third one I can remember the name. But this also has to be. Hanged into the settings of the android head unit. This should fox your backup camera issue. Also make sure the data cable is connected all threats in. This could also be the reason you have no sounds. Also the No sounds also could be in or to use the Android head unit only. You need to put the OEM radio on AUX output. And if the aux is connected behind the radio the the other connector on the armrest. You should’ve défi get sounds. Let me know if that helps.
Thanks man, I will be doing the same too soon 🙏🏿 and I see the Joe dwet file kompa 🎉
. Good luck. You will enjoy them. He is one of my favorite singer. lol.
Hello!
I would like to know if the device still works well? or has it slowed down?
Nope the devil is still working And it did not slow down. It just as fast as the day we bought it.
What about xm radio??? I dont see it on the old car menu or the new car play
If the car had it.It is still there. You are basically adding the Android Screen with more functionality. My friend car never used the XM radio so this why I didn’t even remember to talk about it.
Thanks for the great video, you really showed every step in detail which I highly appreciate 🙏
Cause I do want to replace the screen (so called headunit) in my 2011 E70 X5M with a modern version because I really miss using Apple CarPlay in my last car (2018 BMW F31 335d xDrive).
I now only have to figure out which of the many modern Android units I want to buy for my car.
Did I see it right and your screen/unit is from Avin?
Again thanks for the great video!
Best wishes from Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp 👋
Yes mine is from AVIN, but I am going to be honest. if had a second change I would not have bought it from them. their customer services is not good at all and the Purpole cable connect is not done properly. so you need to be very carful with it. If I was you I would try xtrons and Make sure you read the reviews. Specialy the bad one. the 1-2-3 start one. so you can be aware of the bad stuff people have encounter.
NP you are welcome.
Wow Germany, Hello from USA. lol
@@CarStomIt Okay, wow, that’s one helpful advice, I really appreciate your honesty 👍🙏 I‘ve heard from Xtrons before, if I remember correctly Xtrons devices are often used in Mercedes-Benz cars because they look pretty much stock and do have all the new features you need in an older car.
And the best thing is: Xtrons has a German shop so I don’t have to pay taxes and that stuff if I order something out of Europe.
Again, thank you so much for the advice, and I wish you a hopefully relaxing Sunday with your family.
Best wishes, Philipp 👋
@@5ShotProductions Thanks a lot Phillip. the key is to help people out so if you are watching my videos its only right. so since my customer bought this and he had such a hard tome to return. so we installed it anyways. but next customer that ask me I will definetly recommend the Xtrons. Good luck with the Install. and YEAHHHHH to no Taxes lol.
Hi, can this unit work with 2008 BMW X5, 30 SI E70?
I am not 10”% sure but I am pretty sure like 70% sure that it will fit. When you are purchasing it please put your car info and it will tell you if it will fit or not.
Is it possible for me to know where you live because I need to change and update my car system and I would like you to do this work for me?
Email me at Carstomit@gmail.com and we can chat there.
Hi there, you video is awesome. Thanks for your thorough explanation of the installation. I'm very interested in upgrading my 2012 X5 x35i (E70).
Thanks again. I think I'll go with xtrons. I'll let you know how it goes. I truly appreciate your help and advise. You rock!@@CarStomIt
@user-rv6qo5ex9s no problem. Last one. When you are putting that purple cable on the new unit, be careful. I believe it is Fiber I can’t remember . make sure it clips in. Or else you won’t get no video.
Thanks. Good to know. I'm still waiting for my unit I ordered from Xtrons. I'm very excited to change it out by following your guidance. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again@@CarStomIt
Thank you Sir... Salute
You are welcome.
I have a 2011 BMW X6 an would like to upgrade my car system to andriod car radio and CarPlay . how do i get in contact with you brother.
Hello, how are you. It depends on where you live.
@@CarStomIt I am in Bridgeport Ct.
okay we can schedule something Message me at carstomit@gmail.com so we can schedule it.
Nice work
Where did you bought screen ?
Thanks
I bout screen from AvinUSA.com but check out Seicane. They have a pretty good screen too let me know if you need the link
Is it bright enough in the day?
Ohh yes definitely bright enough.
Is it snapy enough? Does it slow lag the system ? A friend of mines changed to his car but after a month the touch and how responsive it is became laggy
I have not notice that on this one at all. Witch brand did he purchase?
@@CarStomIt YZKong and it was for different Car, but was only wondering if the problem will be Here as well. Which are the most Premium brand for bmw Screens?
there are a couple of them. please make sure you do not by a Non-name stuff. loo for Xtrons, AUTOABC. AVINUSA, is okay but they do not have good customer service. I would try Xtrons first.
@CarStomIt thank you a lot sir. Very helpful and i appreciate it a lot 🙏🏼
@@liridonalji6587 NP. You are welcome.
Anyone a hint why my system is not really working very well with Siri? I cannot often hear Siris response If I am asking what time it is… Music, calling and Navigation is working
I am not sure. but my friend that has that car is using an Android so I can't relate.
Thank you so much sir
Most welcome. thanks for watching
Joe dwet filé 😊✅️
That’s a good artist for sure.
Oui très bon artiste et merci pour la vidéo. J'installe le miens demain.
Salut de la France 👍🏾
@tico972 salut. Merci d’avoir regarder mon clip..Salut des States.
What about microphone?
you can still use your OEM Mic to make/receive calls. Everything still work the same way.
Ok txh😊
What did you use to make the holes?
I used a drill bit. Something that is slightly bigger then the head of the Aux cable head. I think it was 7/8. I could be off a bit. So find something just a touch bigger then the head of the aux and use a drill. Start very slowly so you don’t crack the plastic. Use a metals bit because they only take out super small chunks at a time. The wooden might crack the plastic.
Good job man
Thank you very much.
Did you desconect the battery?
No you don’t need to. This has so much electronics I didn’t want to have to reprogram anything.
O ok I install similar one but didn’t hear no noise and SOS 🆘 is on …

Hello
I have a problem with the Android sound, I can't hear anything, with the BMW original it sounds very good, what do you think I prefer? greet
You have to Install the Aux cable that came with the Unit . Then you sound should be the same S the OEM. Just connect it to the Aux jack on the center armrest… let me know if that works.
Me encantaría una lucha Max vs. Alonso
I don’t understand your comment?
BTW, this Avin customer had an issue with the Monitor mount/bracket making noise as he demonstrates in his video. Have you had noise issues, especially when touching the screen?
th-cam.com/video/fgctpBhKnnQ/w-d-xo.html
nope I have not. maybe one of his top tabs were broken. because you have to put it at an angle then put the two screens tha are holding it. maybe something was definetly wrong with his Unit. I do agree that you can only comunicate through email with them. witch I though was a pain.
60" yeeeee
loll that would ne nice. then you wont be able to see the front LOL.
How could I get contact with you..I live in CT
You can email me at @ Carstomit@gmail.com
Jesus...what are you doing there😁
changing the Screen to Android and addimg more features
Are you from the uk
Unfortunately if I am in the USA. What do you need? I might be able to help you.
Everyone like what they like. if your Screen is not working and you would like to replace the screen. the Dealer is asking for 2K but you can have a new/larger screen and works for 70% less. Why Not. Please you game a lot and lost nothing.
@@CarStomIt in that case it may make sense, but only positive that I see the navigator use in android. But in my previous experience i use few times that, and forget about it, bcos it's not comfortable to write text there or trying to explain what u want with voice control. Based on my previous experience, first i will try to get original display from second hand, i see that it's around 60$, i think u can get wit better price
@@CarStomIt yes screen was bigger, but u don't see it bcos not enough brightness, and it have no place designed for it, looks not good with whole interior. For my first car (mini countryman) i lost lot of money to replace round speedometer with android player and rear mirror also replaced by display mirror with android, totally i lost on it around 1000$ but when i try to do few things on player, it starts freezing. If recording is on, then even music player getting freezes, navigator works too slow, bad gps, led buttons not visible in day time and some of them stops lightning after one month.. and after that i have rule to buy every gadget for one function which one it can do perfect
Jesus! What are you doing!😄 Who installs Android like that!
I Installed it on a Customer Car who love Android.
